Aduda: We lost due to bias and mistreatment

Gor Mahia CEO Omondi Aduda has rubished claims that the match against Lobi Stars was fixed.

“I wish people could know how painful it was losing to Lobi Stars after such a mistreatment we underwent through. Why should a player or official fix a match of such a magnitude and for what gains? he posed to goal.com

The rumour that the match was fixed is being spread online on social media most prominently by blogger Robert Alai.

Many fans believe Alai and are now blaming certain players.

Aduda laid blame on the poor treatment the team received in Nigeria as well as bias from match officials. Though he did not elaborate on how exactly they were mistreated.

“I was with the team in Nigeria and nothing like that happened. We lost because the match day officials were biased and also the team was mistreated from the time we touched down in Abuja. We must forget about such silly talks and move on to the next assignment,” he continued.

Aduda challenged those making match fixing claims to table their evidence.

“I also challenge those making such claims to name the officials or players that they think were involved to fix the match. Don’t just shout out there that the match was fixed without giving tangible evidence. Make the list official so that we can investigate and prove your claims.” he concluded.

Judith Nyangi blames chairman

Gor Mahia organizing secretary Judith Nyangi posted a message on her social media pages that suggests that players were demoralized due to unfulfilled promises. One player supposedly told Nyangi that they were promised a cut of the Ksh 27 million from last year but did not get any. They were therefore not expecting any of the Ksh 54 million that would have been available had they reached the champions league group stage.

Adidas wewe ni mshenzi sana. Ifuwo kabisa. How many times did different people in this forum and elsewhere shout and tell you to expect harsh, biased and official mistreatment in W Africa? Even old Gor players warned you, were you born yesterday? Everybody in no uncertain terms told you of the cruellest treatment waiting for you. And now you open your big mouth telling us chietha chietha. We ni mshenzi sana. I don’t know what your doing at Gor Mahia.

Bloggers after calling me out to explain events that unfolded i baited my time waiting for an EC member to speak before i offer my official statement. Since Aduda has now spoken in an official capacity i can respond appropriately directing my comments towards him as Head of Delegation for GMFC in that tour.

    1. How did Nigerian Authorities Antics of questioning Coach Hassan Oktay and Jacques Tuyisenge and Samuel Onyango whom they thereafter allowed into Enugu affect GM performance on the pitch?

    2. Those mistreatment you allege above, have we not undergone worse including last year in Tunis against Esperance but still fought like warriors almost upstaging them?

    3. Were Lobi Stars not here so that you mistreat and harass them too so we score more like 5 goals making it easier to progress away?

    4. The biased ref’s situation…Were we not at home first leg and what did you do to make officials be biased towards our favour and against Lobi Stars so we win more convincingly?

Just shut up Mr Aduda you are a disgrace and useless CEO. I told you our team is not balanced over and over and told you whom you should sign but you did your own things. Gor Mahia is very weak in terms of balance of play and cannot be considered a continental heavyweight at all. We have a squad half composed of less than average players while the other half is average. The only 3 GM players of exquisite quality are Shafik Batambuze…Jacques Tuyisenge and Francis Kahata. How then do you expect to win anything important with that average squad of GM? We lost and Lobi Stars pressed and pressed until we broke down. I blame it on squad quality nothing else. Spare us your useless shenanighans and allow me to sign a defensive midfielder…playmaker…GK and Proven Striker if we are to arrest what is set to be a tough campaign

    1. Coach Oktay preferred an attack oriented formation with Muguna and Mieno as Central Midfield Pairing while Samuel Onyango and Kahata were wide midfielders or flank players. All the above are good on the ball but utterly poor off the ball therefore we were too weak in midfield defensively exposing the back four to torrential floods of attacks that they repelled until the 79th minute before the floodgates broke open. Such an attack minded line-up can only be justified if we scored a goal which we didn’t. The Samuel Onyango disallowed goal is what we call Referee’s Discretion and no amount of weeping and wailing can change the fact that it was disallowed.

    2. Tuyisenge lost a glorious opportunity after chesting a cute Kahata through ball and all he needed was to place the ball past the keeper or pull a trigger hardshot but instead he fell akwardly without challenge allowing Lobi Keeper to pick the ball. It might be juju but i cried

    3. Samuel Onyango rounded the keeper yet again much in the same fashion as he has done here in the first leg but instead of slotting into an empty net he hit the side post. Yet again he was released by Kahata and he left his marker for dead but with Tuyisenge alone and waving for a simple pass that he would have tapped into an empty net Samuel decided to try place the ball in the near post that the keeper had covered hence his shot went wide. I cried yet again

    4. Shakava and Joash and Philemon and Batambuze battled like Marauding Lions dying for the team in a blood sweat and tears war jumping like Maasai’s to head balls away for 79 mins but were undone by blunders of Boniface Oluoch who never fights for the team…Substitute Cersidy Okeyo who commited a foul but lacked awareness to guard against the opponent starting it in quickfire succession before even referee had whistled and hence we conceded. Still it was a cheap goal all Boni needed was to dive…he didn’t

    5. Humphrey Mieno ran out of gas and as the DMF of the day could not contain the physical Nigerians hence we were under pressure throughout the match

We were under pressure but had we buried our 3 clear cut chances we would have scored 3 goals away but we lacked character upfront.

N/B- I have not mentioned Francis Mustafa for i forgot he was in the field of play. Erisa Ssekisambu came in later but had little impact too

Sportpesa should come in and hold funding of Gor Mahia until the EC gets it’s act together. R.Alai line of story has no basis, he is someone out to seek self glory thru’ sensalization. How he becomes a star does not matter. Ask the Kardasians.
Judith Nyangi claim however holds some truth. Gor was beaten due to unfitness. These people could not cope with the pace set by Lobi. The goals coming in late is pointer to this direction, any pundit could decipher this.
So why were these guyz not fit. Every other time we hear that the team is not training. How many times has this happened. It all boils down to unsettled promises.
But with guyz like Aduda out to divert attention the truth will always be covered in his cloud of lies. He can now come to claim that Gor was mistreated.
Judging by what Gor has gone thru’ in Africa, whatever happened in Nigeria was not mistreatment. Asking a player 4 unnecessary questions is not mistreatment.
I repeat, Gor Mahia will get nowhere in Africa with a corrupt EC. Once these people set their eyes on the Sportpesa salaries, the game was over. Sportpesa is simply fattening the crocodile. Bite the bullet now and do the correct thing!

    I believe that only two things could have happened, both as a result of broken promises;
    1. the players lost the will to fight.
    2. they were not training well.

Finally as regards my contribution to GM performance on the said day. First let it be known i paid my own air tickets and accomodation and was a resource person or “tactician operandi” out to help Coach Oktay win.

    1. After analysing the Lobi Stars team i realized if we want to beat them outright we would need to employ a 4-3-3 formation and not the traditional 4-4-2 hardworking horsepower requiring formation. An efficient 4-4-2 requires the wide midfielders in our case Kahata and Samuel to track back incessantly and help the fullbacks in defending while the Central Midfield pairing must be powerful workhorses and tenacious to the bone like Aucho and Gattuso were. In our case we had Mieno and Muguna there so obviously we struggled. We played it but broke down evetually. We din’t have requisite personel to employ a 4-3-3 formation currently as to try do so we would have conceded 5 goals. If we had Dennis Odhiambo as DMF then Harrison Mwendwa of K.Sharks as Midfield Right and Kahata as Midfielf left we would use it. Tuyisenge would be centre forward with Samuel Onyango and Blackberry or Mustafa as wide attackers. The defensive 4 is okay. Lack of personnel forced a 4-4-2 formation.

    2. Option number two we presented Oktay with was to Play Pascal Ogweno as Fullback 2…Charles Momanyi and Cersidy Okeyo as twin DMF’s then Philemon Otieno as holding midfielder number 8 with Kahata the Free Playmaker role while Tuyisenge and Mustafa or Ssekisambu play twin strikers. First line of defence would be Tuyisenge and Mustafa upfront then we would have two lines of straight aligned walls from the midfield of Philemon…Cersidy and Momanyi to bypass before you meet Shakava..Batambuze…Joash and Pascal Ogweno waiting. Coach Oktay thought that was too anti-modern football tactics since he has good players who can just play football and even score hence his choice of line-up. I respect his wishes though as he believed in his players and chances were created so we can’t blame him.

    3. I repeat we still need signings as GM players are average and some portray lethargic qualities complaining of money issues and bonuses endlessly..some talk dholuo in training thinking this is a village club and they are untouchable since aduda signed them…some think by reaching GM they are in Barcelona hence wamefika no need for hurry in Africa etc…

Finally CAF Competitions are unfair to say the least so keep up or shut up as simple as that. Mistreat teams here if you must coz you will be mistreated away too. Give match officials preferential treatment from the time they land so that they will look at welfare of the home team on matchday and win convincingly. Governor of Benue State Samuel Ortom treated the match officials to luncheons in his palace coupled with envelopes containing 20,000 USD to share amongst themselves. How then were they to favour Gor Mahia? Write such to Caf in complaints and they are thrown away as heresay of a losing bitter team. Tujipange Caf au Tuzidi kupangwa majamaa…Aduda kazi kwako Confederations ndio hio inakuja the same biased officiating and harsh treatment away is a surety especially if we neet an Arab North African team which seems more than likely to happen.

One player(name withheld) confided in me that after being shortchanged about their share of 27m last time, most squad members were sceptical hence lacked the fighting spirit. This might have surely been the major contributing factor to not progressing to the money bracket. The player regretted that after toiling on the field, the CEO and chairman were only waiting to remind them of their terms of contract which has no such sharing of money. To be honest ni kama punda amechoka.Ignore players’ plight and expect no real performance.

Investing 4 Million to get 54 Million or 2 Million to get 27 Million is good business by any measure. We are in Africa and don’t believe there are any model citizens out there officiating for Caf. These officials act purely on handouts to influence matches. Us winning 3-1 against Lobi Stars was purely by virtue of being home and hitting them with quickfire goals before they settled. Once they went back home it was a concerted effort of analyzing our videos and determining how to unlock us. Coupled with having managed us in the second half due to our penchant for long balls, they drew up a very concise plan on how to win. All they needed was the officials to call all 50-50 balls in their favour and ignore ours. Tuyisenge was scissor hacked mercilessly inside the 6 yard box but No Penalty was awarded why? 20,000 USD sio maji lazima ingefanya kazi yake so play on was waived. A free kick was started without Referee’s whistle or even our wall having been formed leading to their first goal but it was allowed to count. Long and Short of it is that with hungry useless officials like Aduda who wait mouths agape for players to sweat you eat Caf windfall without investing a single cent mtashangaa. I Must get GM to Confederations group stage as it hurts me to see us slide into mediocrity after having graced the group stage last year. We should advance not regress. After that EC change of guard Must happen. I stand with GM always
