Agent: Sserunkuma did not abscond

2012 Kenyan Premier League Player of the Year Dan Sserunkuma jetted out of the country for trials in three Eastern Europe countries starting with Armenia, Ukraine then Belarus.

Soon after Gor Mahia Vice Chair Faiz Ochieng came out to say ‘there was no confirmation that the Ugandan international had left – or was set to leave’ the country for the trials.

Sneaked out

He went on to deny that the player had traveled and went on to state that Sserunkuma was ‘currently in Kenya though feeling unwell’

Other quarters from the club have also intimated that Sserunkuma ‘sneaked out’ for the trials without consent of the club.

But FIFA agent Ken Joseph, who pieced up his move for the trials, has jumped to the defense of Serunkuma, stating that his client never sneaked out of the country for trials in the Eastern European region. The players’ representative informed futaa.com that he was quite puzzled by rumors surrounding the Gor Mahia talisman.

Hierarchy

-I find it quite perplexing that anyone would believe Dan, of all players will do a runner for trials. He is too professional to engage in such trivial activities and anyone that knows Dan very well will obviously understand that this propaganda is erroneous, the British-born agent said.

-Myself and the Dan communicated effectively with the Gor Mahia hierarchy regarding the player’s trials  – all I can say at this stage is that there could had been a gap in communication somewhere along the line.

Landed safely

-We all know how difficult it is for players to succeed during trials and it would be very unprofessional for anyone to put a player in a state of quagmire during his tests. Dan is such a good lad – lets all pray and wish him all the best with his trials, Ken Joseph added.

Joseph’s confirms Sserunkuma landed safely in Armenia on Tuesday and kicked off his trials with club side Banants.

Guys what is happening…did league rules change? I thought once the league has resumed then no more trials and transfers. What’s going on. Someone pls update me.

On the other hand, I wish to state that players come and go, coaches and officials come and go but the club remains so I don’t think there is anything strange with whoever wishes to leave. The other day Awilo akiokota mikebe pale Makongeni it was him and him alone and therefore let every player decide his future as this football life is quite short and we need to utilize every opportunity very very fast

  • I AGREE WALTER you see the problem is with Gor why not have a PRO (PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER)only one person authorized to speak for the club like a spokesman an employee and if he errs he is fired rather than a million people.i respect a players wish to leave as long as the club is paid what it is demanding because you cant keep a player against his wish and to this valueless officials Faiz and Bwana you have to be more professional when you talk how can you open your mouth and start saying the “we don’t care if …..”now let me ask you and who?
as Gor fan i care to know how blackberry is doing though he has left the club and just to remind them football is big business now if they dont wataachwa kwa mataa!

  • Thx Jerry for an outstanding performance against Tusker.
Team has potential as I feel B.W is working on an effective system but there’s no doubt the options that “Flava” & “Daktari” would have provided will be significantly missed.
@ Paw Akuche, I totally agree GMFC really needs qualified full time employees to run the secretariat
& implement policies. Maybe only 2 i.e a CEO(FUNDRAISING/MEMBERSHIP/MARKETING) ,FIN & ADMIN. MY QUESTION IS. WHO WILL RECRUIT THESE EMPLOYEES ?

DAnny has already apologised in case he wronged someone though it’s obvious that he asked for permission to leave. Our problem is where officials are competing to be club spokesmen without having the facts

  • I echo @1, even in the private sector people leave to pursue greener pasture. In football players compete with time and they can only make a decent living if they utilize/maximize the period they are on form well. Officials will be happy when a player delivers but will dump them once they fade off. Go Serenkuma go go go go go and don’t look back.

First let me congratulate the team for collecting a point from yesterday’s game. The game was tough and the captain has won my praises.

On the issue being discussed I support the views asking for the appointment of a spokes person responsible for media liason to arrest confusions coming from publicity hungry officials.

While concuring with the sentiments of Ochigah@5 I wish to say that players movement must be guided particularly now that we needed them most.
