Bandari 2 Gor Mahia 0

Some of the new signings have yet to impress

Gor Mahia suffered their first defeat of 2015 when they went down to Bandari 2-0 at the Mombasa Municipal stadium.

Mohamed Farid scored the opener after 34 minutes and the teams went to halftime with the scores at 1-0. In the second half, Gor Mahia pushed forward in search of an equalizer but it was Bandari who once again found the net in the 55th minute via Masoud Juma.

Once again the Gor Mahia attack was blunt. George Odhiambo Blackberry was decent. Mike Olunga still needs plenty of time to gel and Zakari Taofiq has yet to justify his massive transfer fee. There were reports that some fans booing the team bus and the coach and some were chanting “Jerry Must go” at the team bus for what they considered a lacklusture display. Now that is disgraceful fan behaviour.

Musa Mohamed perhaps after having watched the solid performance of Karim Nizigiyimana last weekend, also put on a very solid display.

Gor Mahia next play Mombasa combined on Sunday as coach Frank Nuttall continues to find a winning combination.

Let the team take the loss positively, identify the weak departments and improve on them

A good team learns from their losses. It’s good that we are playing these matches now so that we identify areas of weaknesses.
If what is reported was by our fans then we still have a lot to do in terms of fan education. Do we as fans realize that we are the biggest impediment in our team not getting the finacial support from the corporate world?

Friendly ? The debate continues………If MUHORONI can thump sony sugar and shabana 3-0 and 3-0 respectively and thika united can hammer yatta combined 5-0 All in the name of friendlies, I don’t understand which is this idiot who does not believe in using friendlies to sharpen their teams in front of goal. Why should gor mahia be an exception to thrashing teams ?

Look folks, let’s face it…..the club has an offensive crisis and allow me to repeat Paul Truts comments…..” Football is about chances, you score you win, you don’t score , you simply loose!!! In gor mahia we have fanatics I.e people who don’t see negatives not fans I.e people who see negatives and criticise , and that’s where our problems begin and end. I repeat, we are yet to see the best of kogallo and the attacking force……coach i hope you are reading !

Talk of fans, news just is very very very sad indeed ….both molo milk and new KCC deal have fallen through. Molo milk were in for 65 million, 3 year deal and new KCC were offering 48 million, 5 year deal. New KCC deal was interesting….The company was interested in having the Gor Mahia brand push the Taifa Fresh brand which, according to KCC, was suppose to be the “fighter brand” as the Fresh Milk and others sit pretty. The Taifa Fresh brand was suppose to make the competition sweat. Politics ! Politics ! And more Politics, back to the drawing board.

There is still one more parastatal in contention and another firm linked to the Kenyatta family. So let’s not give up , united we stand – divided we fall.

Good luck to our next friendly against mombasa combined or is ‘ friendly’ ?

I’m very happy that we lost to dockers. That was the reality check for Nuttal to know what to do so as to improve on defence & attack that appears to be blunt.. But I believe that the likes of olunga & omino will rise the occasion & bail Gor k’ogalo.

Am not defending the fans but it just goes to make it clear to the players and TB the high level of expectation that fans have. Fans are aware that members of the playing unit / TB also place high demands when being signed so fans expect results and performance.
Execution of the so called combinations and formations that TB ? players have ample time to perfect in daily training.
Mombasa fans rarely get to see K’galo so they expected a show.
I just hope such behaviour does not degenerate into hooliganism, it easily can.
Jakoyo please clarify some issues as regards the “sponsorship”.

1.Was the Molo deal kshs.65M per year for 3 years or Kshs.65M for the 3 years which translates to approx. kshs.21.67M/ year.
    2. Similarly was the “better” KCC deal kshs.48M per year for 5 years or kshs.48 for the 5 years which translates to kshs.9.6/ year.
    3. Now that you’ve bandied about figures the question is:

HOW/WHY DID THE DEAL COLLAPSE IS IT OUR EC THAT REJECTED THE OFFER AND WHY. CAN EC AFFORD TO REJECT THESE OFFERS.

SIMPLY PUT OUR EC OPERATES IN AN OPAQUE MANNER SO LET’S RESIGN TO THE FACT THAT WE SIMPLY DON’T KNOW SOME THINGS E.G.
    1. WHEN OR HOW MUCH GM SPONSORSHIP WILL BE OR HOW OR WITH EC IS HOLDING TALKS WITH.
    2. ON WHAT BASIS ARE SOME PLAYERS RECRUITED
    3. WHEN OR IF WE WILL HAVE AN AGM.
    4. IF THE KRA SAGA HAS BEEN RESOLVED. By the way any sponsorship money will never be paid via mpesa/ paybill so unless and until EC resolves matters with KRA and the club’s bank accounts remain frozen HOW WILL THE CLUB ACCESS ANY SPONSORSHIP MONIES?
There is no politics, the truth is we simply don’t know some things and EC wants it that way.

1.@ Jakoyo have you ever played football?
2.The good thing is that whenever you hear comments from fans you can always distinguish those who have ever played footy and those who haven’t.

I find the above two comments very interesting, as interesting as Pascal’s rantings and mumblings/rumblings after the probable effects of the Tz’s hot midday sun on his brain. His earlier comments are reasonable compared to the later ones which leaves one to wonder what could have happened to his being in between the postings.

Even in GMFC those with distinguished footballing backgrounds don’t have the most influence in their areas of expertise:
1.Sir JBO- One of the best ever CECAFA defenders is for some reasons restricted to at best being only a deputy coach.
2.Tow Ogweno a former national team player is only a fitness trainer.
3.Ouna who has never played football to the level of the first two is assistant coach.
4.Nutall who has never been a national team player and who is a primarily fitness trainer is the head coach and last year he did well.
5.EC (AR and the Ngala’s) were the one’s who recruited the players after TB identified the gaps not even Sir.JBO or Ogweno (given that Nutall was away.)

Therefore having “played”the so called football is neither here nor there when it comes to pointing out that we expect our strikers to be pumping in the goals. Of course an exceptional defenders like “King David” can augment the efforts of the strikers hence making the team dynamic.
But strikers are expected to strike in the goals, midfielders create the chances etc and the defenders to defend. That’s why there are positions/roles in the beautiful game.

Suppose sponsorship deal is signed next week, what will the ills like Jakoyo post in this site?

On result against Bandari, there is no reason to get worried on this result as the technical bench is still working out to get the first eleven. We have just overhauled the team with many new players, let us give technical bench time to get a winning outfit and reduce pressure on our players and technical bench.

A lot needs to be done,i watched the bandari game, and frankly speaking gor is down and flat.No cordination, blind passes,no creativity,no midfield. The two goals scored were as a result of confusion and lack of communication between Jerry and Shakava.Thats why fans were booing Jerry.
We seriously need a very creative and fast midfielder, our wings are also dead.Olunga looks okay but only if fed with balls.otherwize iko kazi mbele

@Jakoyo, the same Muhoroni and SONY were today beaten by West Kenya sugar a lower league team.Have they now become bogus? The manu, chelsea, mancity etc were losing or struggling against lower league teams this weekend. How special is Gor that we can’t lose in pre-season?
Guys, let’s be realistic. I wish you could read the comments of the TB after the match. Very positive
