Bobby irked by KPL delay

Coach Williamson takes issue with premier body for taking too long to award them aborted match despite Football Kenya Federation ordering the same Gor Mahia coach Bobby Williamson has taken issues with Kenya Premier League ‘for taking too long’ to award the club maximum points from the abandoned fixture against Sony Sugar.

The Scot tactician says the premier body should respect ruling made by Football Kenya Federation and award K’Ogalo the fixture which aborted in 84th minute.

“We are wondering why Kenyan Premier League is dilly-dallying over the matter despite Kenya FA ruling that Gor Mahia be awarded the match,” Williamson told Goal.

“We should by now have had the issue solved so that we concentrate on our remaining matches. KPL should just award us the match as ordered by Kenya FA because Sony caused abandonment.”

On the team’s 1-0 defeat to Tusker, Williamson put blame on match referee. The Scott claimed his side was denied a genuine penalty while their opponents were given something he says ultimately decided the match.

“The referee let us down. He made some good and bad decisions and one of the good ones was to award Tusker a penalty while the other was denying us a genuine one.

“These kinds of decisions are very costly and it denied us picking a point. We deserved to get something from the fixture and we are very disappointed.”

Williamson maintained that the chase for league title was wide open insisting that all teams in contention will drop points along the way.

Time wasting

Speaking after the Tusker match, Williamson insisted that the referees should be very keen on players applying time wasting antics during the matches according to futaa.com

-There was a lot of time-wasting in the match (against Tusker) and what is even worse the referee was not doing much to discourage this time wasting, he fumed.

Williamson has also moved on to blame officiating for their 1-0 loss to Tusker FC on Sunday afternoon.

Williamson believes the center referee made several unfair calls that influenced the outcome of a match that according to him neither side deserved to win.

-I think it was ball to hand but the referee decided to give it (referring to the ref’s decision to award Tusker a penalty after Musa Mohammed allegedly handled the ball in the box), Williamson said after the match,

-He also added only four minutes despite two or three players having been stretchered off during the match. I think he should have added more,

I just think the delay is due to the 72 hours Sony were given to make an appeal. But we are sure the three points are ours. On time wasting in the field, we are are also victims of the same. Sometimes back we used to waste time after scoring a one or two goals lead. By the way, sad news for Mashemeji Luc Eymel and his team have been sent packing. Nawapa pole sana.

Btw its not the losing the hurts but the WAY WE LOSE!
85% of our attacks were aerial balls to Dan against over 6ft Shiko. The 2/3 proper passes n the lad was on target!
I narrow it down 2 the quality (at best average) of most of our midfielders & forwards. Look at the top scorers in the TPL we don’t feature at all.
Lets avoid cockamamy agruments like “Jabilo should get his team own 2 coach” Just point out ua agreement/otherwise with someone’s blog lest we degenetrate into poppycock arguments

bobby ur sound too desperate in winning the league it’s blinding you. so which coach like referees. u could not beat tuskers in 90 min and i don’t think u would in 110min. what was obvious was that u had no strategy to win the match. all u wanted was a draw and u have said as much so kindly stop trying to hoodwink the public. it’s now unfortunate on how ur crying to be awarded free points. wht disappoints me is that u are not even willing to fight it out. i want gor to win the league but not in such a cheap style coz if gor is handed all these lifelines ur crying for then africa will certainly be a disaster. it’s unfortunate that all you seem to want is building ur cv on how you took the kpl league.

If i was Bobby Williamson ; i will just concentrate with the games at hand and forget about freebies from the SoNy abandoned match. If you can win all the remaining games then you need not to bother with those points. we can even donate them to SoNy as a bonus.

We have SOFAPAKA ,THIKA and KCB to play and they are amongst the chasing lot. Just beat this guys and all the others teams remaining in our fixtures and we shall be home and dry besides GOR being declared champions without any doubt from the competitors and all stakeholders.

Start by beating THIKA, and you will have send a clear message to the rest as well as revamping the waning support that is currently evident amongst the many loyal fans. As the head ,please avoid excuses and let the office deal with the issue. We need to see and feel the self belief and confident that is required at this last lap of the long run.

My advice to the coach, please forget the sony match and focus on our next match. Do not preoccupy your mind with the delay by kpl, this will only distract your mind. Please concentrate on real issues. We are behind you.

@ dinga, a goal can be scored in a second. Even one minute in foot ball is too much and can bring any difference. The 3 points we are waiting are not free as you put it, we fought for 85 minutes to get them but since Sony broke the rules, we deserve them.

This was the third loss for Kogalo this season, yes. Not so bad record, Bobby we have seven matches to go (or 8 depending on which way the Sony match is decided). Tusker has never been a pushover team and in any case they won on a mere penalty. Five strong wins will win it even without the Sony game. Lets not be distracted by people like Oguda. Just move on with your plans, a game at a time and as they come. First the Gotv match against Thika this weekend.

One piece of advice however is while that youngster Angelo is good he is not quite made yet and it was a big mistake to give him such a big game at this time. This is a critical stage and you will need your hard tested and best players to grind out results that you need now.

@G.Ochoro: it’s not about how a goal goes in… i am trying to stress that Bobby did not go in that match to win but to draw… and since he had no proper winning strategy scoring a goal was not going to happen however long it took unless a silly mistake by tusker.
    and on the second issue on the sony match. i to believe that gor deserves that match but how Bobby is crying for the points is not appealing. seems like he has no confidence to win the league ‘on the pitch’. so wether gor won or lost is not so much the issue but the type of soccer displayed in the tusker match ;
    by this i mean;
    – poor passing
gor passing is basically ‘to whoever it may concern’
aimless passing encouraged tusker to move forward. tusker’s superior ball possession and accuracy was bound to win the day.
    – no cordination between the midfield and strikers
why give high balls to sserenkuma
    – players who still think they’re too stylish
kevin and ochieng. they are good players but they waste more time showing off than the opponents the coach is complaining about.take kevin for example, one does not know wether he wants to impress first before passing the ball and this has resulted that his team-mates do not know when he intends to pass the ball, hence alot of his passes go to waste.
    – playing just to contain an opponent.
gor should go into matches such as these to win and not merely to draw. if gor was attacking then tusker chance of making mistakes could have been higher. since gor appeared scared, tusker became more confident and seemed to toy with gor. it’s gor who ended up making the mistake.

Guys I still wonder how Gor would have played for a draw only for Bonnie (tusker GK) to be declared the man of the match. Whoever watched the first leg when Jerry won the MVP would have known that the tide changed this time. My only problem is that we come into games too late. I watched the City stars, Ingwe, Tusker and heard about the SONY game and we seem to fire on all cylinders when the time is ticking away. Desperately. On the three points we need from the abondoned match let’s all know that had we got three points in our last league matches we would have now won the last twice in the last three seasons

well well don’t you think Bobby is a coach to win and get point.

He is asking for his due right. Or what are you talking about, winning on the pitch isn’t that “getting the points”

Ask for the points BOBBY – that are being kept in someones office and continue looking for those in the pitch.

Positive energy guys. That’s what will win us the title. We started talking about how average our players are in February and we are still on the same despite leading the league. What do some of us want? We win they are very happy, you lose, the desparage the team.
We even made Ole pareiyo go to anoher team, maybe Sofapaka and Sir. Mwakio to stop commenting on anything Gor. At least we still have consistent Kosero around.
We have a mountain to climb but GM has climbed even higher mountains than this and overcome even tougher hurdles. What’s happening at Ingwe should be an eye-opener to us. Luc proved to be a very good coach when the whole of Ingwe was on his side until the sideshows like Loga’s started. Gor is not immune to such and mwenzako akinyolewa tia chako maji

Yes, how did Bonnie (tusker goalie) become man of the match if there was no attack as insinuated by ‘these know all coaches’. If anything life and football continues even if GM does not win the league . Its very bad for us to keep talking of diminishing support for the coach and his tech bench knowing very well what football entails! We’ve lost the title on the last two of three seasons on last day under different coaches, why dont we have an open mind in these things and hope for the best? Our noisy neighbours have been sacking everyone black and white, foreign and local, who is right or wrong? One day a player is very bad the next day guys are all over questioning why he’s not starting? Its good the coach is not listening to this confusion! GM fans are worse than the ec they’re complaining about no wonder the club never grows because the same fans get elected only to end up practicing confusion and talk of scandals you find them executed by fans themselves. As much as we are free to air opinions and air critisms truly we should not forget our earlier stance and the fact that the tech bench and all players want to win all the matches. The coach surely is not crying for free points as the match was really botched as well all of us build cvs at work. I find our yelling at everyone and getting angry at everything quite appaling and uncalled for.

It was not just our lucky day. Personally i think the reason we struggling is because some of our players have dipped in form. Look at Kiongera and Lavatsa for example if they were were at their pick like last season we would be winning games with ease. We can only pray for them that they rediscover their form soon.

Can the Ec and soccer administrators in kenya please take time off this weekend and attend the Rugby 7s at kasarani…..not to watch the games but to see how well organised they are in terms of
    1.security
    2.ticketing
3.entry to venue and manning of gates
4.handling of different vendors….food, drinks, sell of merchandise etc
    5.entertainment
    6.rivalry on the pitch.
    7.crowd control
    8.general execution of the tournament.
Then maybe..one day you can replicate the same for a Gor game or future football tournament!!

Read @10dinga & if you can watch the match reruns. Co-ordination & passing between our midfielders and forwards is poor. Only Dan ” Flava” was a threat 2 tusker’s defense.
Bonnie won the man of the match award courtesy of 2 events
    1. An excellent finger tip save from a brillant Danny effort,
    2. Calmly dribbling his way out of trouble past 2 attacking GM forwards in the first half.
You see in the land of the blind the one eyed man is king hence Bonnie’s award.
    Gud observation @ 17 Oswozo.

Unless we were watching different games I saw Bonnie make several saves. The only thing is that since we are not part of the panel we will never know why he was chosen.
