Calabar offered new deal

Defender and Vice Captain David Owino “Calabar” has been offered a new deal. According to a report in the Daily Nation, the deal is for two years and should keep him at the club until 2017. Calabar’s contract is due to expire in June of next year.

The report in the Daily Nation says that Calabar who is the two-time KPL defender of the year met club chairman Ambrose Rachier last week in a closed-door meeting where a new deal was offered to him and he reportedly agreed in principle to put pen to paper after the Christmas period. The meeting took place shortly after the club’s National Executive had held a routine in-house meeting. The contract would double his salary to Ksh 160,000 per month. This is a spot higher than Geoffrey Walusimbi who is at Ksh 150,000 per month. Jerim Onyango is at Ksh 75,000.

Owino calabar has previously been linked with various overseas moves most notably to Simba.

I extend same wishes to our valued team, ex-players Dan “Flava” & Co & our much blundering EC.
However am saddened that EC can discriminate against its own players paying some and leaving out others. This is similar to parents discriminating against their children a SURE RECIPE FOR DISASTER.
To the players who demanded their “pound of flesh” or else they would “walk out of the club” its your right but, if it’s true, then I hope you will deliver equal measure since we fans we will also demand our pound of flesh in terms of top performance & delivery.
Surely isn’t football a team sport and unity and equity amongst the playing unit must be upheld and fostered.
EC is courting failure with its current lack of confidentiality and structure in dealing with its most important asset, A STABLE AND SATISFIED GROUP OF PLAYERS.
Fellow ,bloggers sorry Gor Mahia.net (is it GorMahia.netters) be blessed in 2015 and let’s keep the pull towards making GMFC the best in CECAFA,CAF despite the odds and challenges (Remember the players have only received their Nov14 salary).
I wait expectantly for the launch of the GM Sacco hope its not just a way for the bloated EC to reinventitself or avert the AGM for 2014.
Viva Gor Mahia.net, Viva GM Sacco, Viva K’galo

If what i am reading that we have beaten ingwe for Bonnie and Glay then it means that the EC is right to keep quiet as they go about their business while we criticize them due to ignorance. I remain optimistic but disappointed that we like the team when it’s  winning but keep away when they need as most.
