Coach Frank Nuttall satisfied with results
Following Gor Mahia’s crucial and hard fought win over Mathare United, coach Frank Nuttall has expressed satisfaction with the way the team played. He has at the same time vowed that the team will keep their foot on the accelerator when they take on Sofapaka in an even more crucial encounter.
“We played well to stop United and are looking forward to a similar performance against Sofa”
When Nuttall first arrived, fans were skeptical given his lack of experience. But has brought an injection of new ideas that was badly needed. Though he started on a sour note with that loss to Simba, he has finally gotten his act in order. Under Nuttall, Gor Mahia have yet to lose a match but have recorded solid wins. Nuttall has also injected a dose of confidence in former KPL player of the year George Odhiambo “Blackberry”. As this column once theorized, Blackberry just needed a coach who could get into his psyche and boost his confidence. many strikers have very fragile psyches and can lose confidence.
Odhiambo was in fine form today and I am happy for him especially after he scored his second goal in a row. It gives him plenty of confidence and we need that at this time.” continued Nuttall.
Blackberry for his part appeared very excited at finding the net for the second match in a row, unlike last week when he barely celebrated, apparently unsure if he would be credited with the goal. And whereas Sserunkuma has of late been the beneficiary of precise assists from the likes of Musa Mohamed, Timothy Otieno and Blackberry, this time it was Sserunkuma who provided the inch perfect cross. This shows the team is in sync, once again again a credit to coach Nuttall.

What baffles me is that in Gor we have never had issues with the ethnicity of the match officials.we do our job on the field. During the Bandari match we hsd a goal disallowed by O-something but we moved on. At ingwe the moment they see the names of the officials they immediately cry foul. Kwani is Ichingwa and Baraka the only one allowed to officiate their games?
As @Jason puts it our fans as part of the CAR should visit the patient to empathise with him. That would send a serious message to all soccer lovers

Some media houses are confusing things by saying GM needs 6 points from the remaining 3 matches. I wish to correct them. Gor needs to beat Sofapaka on Sunday and the trophy will theirs. In fact FKF need to bring the trophy to Machakos on Sunday. Meanwhile, while Machakos has been a good place to go to and the parties are normally entertaining, I doubt if it is still the right place for this match. I suspect there is tragedy in waiting given the small size of that stadium and the expected attendance. Can they consider switching the match to Kasarani. What do you guys think.

LOGA 2012 success rate 61 percent …. played 11 , won 6, drawn 2 and lost 3. I cried the day we drew with thika at city stadium on the last day. Could 2014 repeat itself ?
LOGA 2013 success rate 80 percent….played 23, won 16 , drawn 7. He literally won the title for kogallo in 2013. Any dispute ?
LOGA went unbeaten in 27 games in all competitions during his tenure and LOGA went 24 games unbeaten in the kenyan premier league!!!!!!! In total LOGA coached 38 games and achieved a record even the legends Len Julian’s and jack Johnson would have applauded.

@Jakoyo, I think our coach Frank Nuttal has done a good job. Looking at his football philosophy, style, team stamina, rediscovery of forms/positions (for example Blackberry, Kevin Oluoch, Pierre, Walusimbi etc) and finally picking of the under players to train with the first eleven team.
These are facts that can’t be denied. Nuttal took this team after we lost Rama, Akumu, Wanyonyi, Ade etc and the results and systems of play is being seen.
@ Jakoyo. Forget the statistics, they mean nothing unless you win. Loga can go many matches unbeaten but he is not a winner if he does not deliver silverware. That is where Zico is!! 2013 title was delivered by someone else other than Loga. I can’t remember seeing Loga during the celebration party on the pitch, neither was he in the stands. 2014 will surely be delivered by someone other than BW.
And on Sunday, we must beat Sofapaka to show we are true champions. This race must not be extended beyond Sunday. And to the businessmen, there is an opportunity to print “TPL 2014 Champions” t shirts of scuffs or anything and sell them as soon as we are 1-0 up!!

Ati Ooh, Tusker has the best squad, ati Ooh, Leopards has very good players. Kwani, is Kisito average? is Walusimbi average, is Jerry average? The events in the Sofapaka-AFC match should have resulted in some arrests. Blaming clubs for hooliganism haiwesmake. Bwana Rachier has been pleading with fans to behave. But he cant arrest them. AFC officials have tried. Wario can blame the clubs as usual. But unless government starts arresting goons, hooliganism will not end. Again blaming clubs is a waste of time. Just arrest those caught on camera.

Okey,he may be a fitness trainer.The players may well have average the whole season and the EC bereft of ideas.However,there is something they got right.Something which above average and top class teams like Tusker,Sofa,Sony,Leopards and etal couldn’t get right.They have shown us that If we are committed to a course nothing can stand on our way.I still admire the work ethics of these guys.After making our weekends so enjoyable,some of them would troupe back to their houses not knowing where the next meal would come from.If this is no sacrifice…….then maybe I need some Sociology lessons.
As we continue to deliberate on this site, i want to appeal to our fans to avoid acts of hooliganism as witnessed on monday in a match pitting afc against sofapaka.
The ” human wastes” of ingwee were at it again doing what they know best and they executed it as real ” human wastes” of this world.
I thank gor fans blogging on this site for being vocal against this vice and for a long time we haven’t witnessed the ugly scenes of these “human wastes” at gor.

Investment in a Sacco will reap benefits for both club and members.
Some bloggers have wondered how members can get a return on their investment/contribution.
Look at this whenever GM holds their home matches at CT stadium we are given a “breakdown” that the match raised kshs.600,000 but kshs.300,000 of it was “statutory deductions” and only kshs.300,000 was banked.
The bulk of the statutory deductions is stadium hire fees.
If 20,000/12,000 form a sacco and contribute kshs.300/500month that translates to kshs.6,000,000/month and a whooping kshs.72,000,000 per year.
With such a base the club can construct a 18,000-20,000 stadium.
Gor Mahia’s home games can easily raise a minimum of kshs.1.5million.
If for every home game the sacco is paid “statutory dedcution” of 30% or 500,000 then for only the 15 TPL home games the sacco will have earned kshs.7,500,000.
7,500,000/72,000,000 is a return of around 10% on this line alone.
Of course the mashemeji derby and other high profile matches will raise much more than kshs.1.5m.
Other team can hire GM’s modern stadium meaning more income for the sacco which can be shared with the club.
So @ Dan. Original we just need to think outside the box.
GM Sacco can work if the cartels release their iron grip on GM and now that the league is over we need to focus on strategies of making GM financially stable.

Mighty Kogalo and most exciting fellow fans, I think we’ve landed a gem in Frank Nuttal…I saw him give instructions to players during the little breaks, set pieces etc…he is a clever coach. It may be the start of a fantastic period of dominance for Kogalo if he stays with us for long. I see us re-introducing ourselves in the regional front as well, especially CECAFA. The way he has repositioned players, playing blackberry upfront, pushing walusimbi up the wing, bringing in hard working oluoch into left back even though he is right footed, leaves a mark of a genius in him

I can’t wait for the 3 points in Machakos, though I agree this match is too big for Machakos if you witnessed the attendance at tok komwanda on sunday.
On another note, if we win against Sofa paka but Tusker is awarded 3points against Muhoroni or if Tusker wins the replay against Muhoroni then mathematically we need another point to be crowned champions.

i think the media etal should be told in the clearest terms possible that kogalo was not involved in the fracas on monday, thus it should not be a matter of the big teams as everybody tends to put it, indeed efusi were not even playing playing kogalo and kogalo has not been involved in ugly scenes even during defeat for a long time, indeed we have come of age,to the contrary kogalo has single handed lifted the league to higher heights and the likes of efusi have been busy killing talents and football in kenya in the pretence of equal kogalo. BUT NOW THE VERDICT IS OUT, THE BOYS HAVE BEEN SEPARATED FROM THE MEN.
Benefit to club is an additional 20% of gate collections being banked by the club.
The club apparently pays kshs.10,000 per training session but the sacco can charge the club say 3,000 per 2 sessions in day morning & afternoon thereby reducing the clubs training pitch hire bill from kshs.250,000 to Kshs.75,000 per month. A saving of kshs. 2.1million per year.
Only 12,000 GM sacco members needed to stabilize the club.

@ODUOR12, you are very spot on this SACCO matter. EC should pursue it without any further delay as this is the best way to change the club’s fortune and the future of our team. SACCO has the following merits and demerits of SACCOS:-
Advantages of SACCOS
1. Easy to form:
The formation of a SACCO is very simple as compared to the formation of any other form of business organisations. Any ten adults can join together and form a SACCO. The procedure involves in the registration of a SACCO is very simple and easy.
2. No obstruction for membership:
Unless and otherwise specifically debarred, the membership of SACCO is open to everybody. Nobody is obstructed to join on the basis of religion, caste, creed, sex, colour etc. A person can become a member of a SACCO at any time he likes and can leave the SACCO if he does not like to continue as member. Based on one of the principles of co-operatives of voluntary and open membership.
3. Limited liability:
In most cases, the liabilities of the members of the SACCO is limited to the extent of capital contributed by them. Hence, they are relieved from the fear of attachment of their private property, in case of the SACCO suffers financial losses or goes bankrupt.
4. Service motive:
In Co-operative SACCOS members are provided with better good and services at reasonable prices. The SACCO also provides financial help to its members at concessional rates unlike mainstream banks. It assists in setting up production units and marketing of produce of small scale farmers.
5. Democratic management:
The SACCO is managed by the elected members from and among themselves. Every member has equal rights through its single vote but can take active part in’ the formulation of the policies of the SACCO. Thus all member are equally important for the SACCO. Derived from the principle of democratic member control.
6. Stability and continuity/Perpetual succession.:
A SACCO cannot be dissolved by the death, insolvency, lunacy, permanent incapability of its members. It has got separate legal existence from its members. New members may join and old members may quit the SACCO but the SACCO continues to function unless all members unanimously decided to dissolve the SACCO.
7. Economic operations:
The operations carried on by co-operatives SACCOS are economical due to the eliminations of middlemen. The services of middlemen maybe provided by the members of the SACCO at minimum cost or eliminated completely. The recurring and non-recurring expenses are minimized. Further, the economies of scale of production or procurement, automatically reduces the price of goods, thereby minimizes the selling price.
8. Surplus shared by the members:
The SACCO sells goods and services to its members on a nominal profit. In some cases, the SACCO sells goods and or services to outsiders. The profits are utilized in meeting the day-to-day administration and other costs of the SACCO. The procedure for distribution of profit/surplus is stated in the Co-operatives SACCOS Act Cap 490. Some portion of the surplus is distributed as dividends or interest on deposit and some kept as reserve (i.e. 20%).
9. State patronage:
Government provides special assistance to SACCOS to enable them achieve their objectives though currently through Finance Bill 2013, the government is introducing excise duty of 10%. Government also extends, or used to, many type of subsidies to SACCOS strengthening their financial stability and sustainable growth in future.
Disadvantages of SACCOS:
Despite the many advantages, SACCOS suffer from certain limitations or drawbacks. Some of these limitations are:
1. Limited resources:
SACCOS financial strength depend on the capital contributed by its members. The membership fee is limited so is the monthly contributions in case of Saccos as their members belong to the lower and middle class. Thus co-operatives initially are not suitable for the large scale businesses which require huge capital. Though this can be overcome by increasing membership with the downside of minimal returns to its members.
2. Inefficient management:
A SACCO is managed by the members only. They may not possess any managerial and special skills. This is considered as major drawback of this sector.
3. Lack of secrecy:
SACCOS do not maintain secrecy in their businesses because the affairs of the SACCOS are openly discussed in meetings. But secrecy is very important for the success of a business organisation. This paved the way for competitors to compete in more effective ways.
4. Absence of motivation:
The members may not feel enthusiastic because the law governing the co-operatives puts some restriction on when to invest or decision making process which can be lethargic and bureaucratic.
5. Disputes and differences:
The management of the SACCO constitutes the various types of personnel from different social, economical and academic background. Many a times they strongly differs with one another on many important issues. This becomes detrimental to the interest of the SACCO as it may lead to delayed decisions. The different opinions and disputes may paralyses the effectiveness of the management.
WHO I AM? I am a co-operator at heart. I love co-operatives. I believe in co-operative ideals. I believe co-operatives are the answer to financial and marketing challenges currently facing Gor Mahia, local clubs and other developing worlds. If we can harness the potential of these business models, then we can help comabat poverty in a big way and take Gor Mahia to where it belongs.

Guys let us take it one game at a time. Let us avoid these roadside declarations of a victory at Machakos being a foregone conclusion. We need to win and we should win against Sofapaka. SACCO will create the opportunity for our fans to take responsibility for their own financial organization. The democratic process is an integral part of the SACCO and encourages people to take control of their own financial affairs.
Among the many advantages of SACCOs are:
1. Savings are mobilised locally and returned to members in the form of loans. The ideal model invests 80% of mobilised savings to members in the form of loans. The money stays and works within the members.
2. SACCO interest rates on both savings and loans are generally better than rates given by banks and the reason for this is that SACCOs have very low overheads as compared to banks who pay low interest on savings but charge a lot of interest to cover their overheads.
3. SACCOs encourage members to save, essential for economic empowerment.
4. SACCOs educate their members on financial matters by teaching prudent handling of money, how to keep track of finances, how to budget and why to keep away from hire purchases and loan sharks.

These copy paste articles don’t mean anything to me unless you tell me how this sacco stuff will work out. I joined a sacco in my work place because I was told I can use it to save money and at the same time borrow at very low interest rates. It is the same thinking when people especially women start chamas. I did not join the sacco so that I can use my savings to pay someone’s salary or allowances or build a school that will help the community. Can we stop dreaming and suggest stuff that can work out. Stop thinking like socialists. We are capitalists (and that is the reality) therefore I should be hearing of how to start a Gor Mahia Plc or Ltd or Inc, with fans as shareholders. This GM Company will be in the business of generating revenues from gate collections, sponsors, merchandises etc and sorting out player welfare then paying dividends at the end of the day. So, when I put my money, I expect it to generate more while at the same time ensuring players are well taken care of and there is money in my pocket as dividends. I am talking about Man Utd, Arsenals, Liverpools etc. Even Chelsea has abandoned the philanthropy type of business (under Abramovic) as you are suggesting above by chatting a different route. PSG will soon follow suit and you have started seeing them firing the high end earners. Angi Makachkala tried the same in Russia a few years ago and abandoned it almost immediately. Guys, socialists way of doing things is short term because it lacks clear objectives and path.

These copy paste articles don’t mean anything to me unless you tell me how this sacco stuff will work out. I joined a sacco in my work place because I was told I can use it to save money and at the same time borrow at very low interest rates. It is the same thinking when people especially women start chamas. I did not join the sacco so that I can use my savings to pay someone’s salary or allowances or build a school that will help the community. Can we stop dreaming and suggest stuff that can work out. Stop thinking like socialists. We are capitalists (and that is the reality) therefore I should be hearing of how to start a Gor Mahia Plc or Ltd or Inc, with fans as shareholders. This GM Company will be in the business of generating revenues from gate collections, sponsors, merchandises etc and sorting out player welfare then paying dividends at the end of the day. So, when I put my money, I expect it to generate more while at the same time ensuring players are well taken care of and there is money in my pocket as dividends. I am talking about Man Utd, Arsenals, Liverpools etc. Even Chelsea has abandoned the philanthropy type of business (under Abramovic) as you are suggesting above by chatting a different route. PSG will soon follow suit and you have started seeing them firing the high end earners. Angi Makachkala tried the same in Russia a few years ago and abandoned it almost immediately. Guys, socialists way of doing things is short term because it lacks clear objectives and path.

If sserre leaves then you have rediscovered Berry’s form. our under 19 is also doing well. Gor is ahead and I don’t see waluya reaching us just the way chairman told them to forget the league so long as he is still in office. so he ment it.
