Congo United sink Kogalo yet again

For the second time in a row, the Congo United coaching staff said they were sure of beating Gor Mahia. And for the second time in a row, they came through on their promise. Their 2-1 win over Kogalo puts a severe dent in the title hopes of Gor Mahia.

Congo were first on the scoresheet in the 27th minute when Ali Mwachiponi found the back of the net from a set piece. It seemed like a harmless shot but it took a turn for the worst when it bounced and confused keeper Jerim Onyango. Gor Mahia poured forward in searcg for an equalizer with Edwin Lavatsa and Dan Makori both coming close. Erik Masika finally found the equalizer in the 75th minute after being set up by Lavatsa and sent Gor Mahia fans at the City stadium into raptures. The winner for Congo came on 84 minutes from a direct freekick. After the goal Gor Mahia once again poured forward for an equalizer. Anthony Akumu came close in injury time but it was not to be.

The loss pushes Gor Mahia into 5th position. While other title contenders like Ulinzi are rounding into form , Gor Mahia seem to have lost steam and have not won a league game in the last 5 matches including two losses. Its worth noting that Gor Mahia have not beaten Congo which is at the bottom of the table in three attempts. On Saturday however, Gor Mahia were the better side and had more attempts on goal. But Congo United rode lady luck all day.

After the match, Kogalo fans were left bewildered. Some angry at the loss resorted to throw stones at the Police. Many however accepted defeat calmly but lamented the loss to a team that seems destined for relegation.

Will it take the son of God to come and preach to Kogalo fans that stone throwing under the pretext of disapproval of the team’s performance is a cardinal sin?
I still maintain that this boy Rama should be playing in the Gor Mahia midfield.
It is strange that Gor’s midfield fails to click whenever Gatusso is away.
It is very embarrassing to be the whipping boy of a team that was playing in the grass only last season and is destined for the same grass next season.
Gor Mahia management please wake up!

What was ZD’s comments after the lose? Did he have something to say? Is he quiting any time or is he clinging to the end? FUNS are angry by the poor results and thats the only way to show ZICO that his time is up to be GMs coach. That game was no diffrent with what we saw against guinee. Poor tactics by the coach. Total gambling infact. At position five in the league standings ZD should resighn so that we start focusing 4 next season, atutaki aibu tena. This is GM and not just any other team for somebody to joke around with. Remember last year some of us had to loose there lives for the team. May the almighty rest their souls in eternal peace. We need drastic changes in the technical department bcoz i believe that where the problem is.

Zico just leave……do u think Harambee will even get a result in uganda if this guy still running things…….sasa utaelewa kwanini fisi alipasuka msamba!

First we need to change the coach, he seems to never get it right always. He has no consistent first eleven. How does he keep Gattuso, Haji, kevin omondi and Mose ma dready kwa bench n play “wise”. He plays Akumu kwa defence when collins omondi could play #3, musa aende namba yake na Akumu arudi midfield. aache mchezo n he should have resigned by now.

I have been saying that Zico will not take Gor Mahia anywhere. I think our chances of winning KPL are dwindling and at this rate we are heading nowhere. Our usual flowing football pattern is nolonger there and the office seems to happy with with Zico. For Gor to win anything this year, we need a radical change within the technicalbench. The office have been very quite despite the several proposals for changes from fans that have always mean well for the club. I’m buffled by the arrongance and field
ing of Zico. From the onset of KPL’ zico has never had his first eleven team player. We are going nowhere with zico.

What we have been saying has now come to pass to haunt Gor Mahia. The luck has dissappeared completely. If you can look back around May/June 2011 about lady luck goals can nolonger be realised and excuses of draws is nolonger there as zico inept as a coach is now to full fruition. This coach has destroyed many careers like my cousin Kitawi who is now plying in Tusker. Well, I stand corrected that the day of vindication is now but I will continue to support Gor Mahia but not individual impostors.

Why do we loose after international and kpl breaks? It is because of zico’s greed to hold two jobs? Do scouts monitor the players’ movements, social lives and welfare? Let the office hold an open forum with both the playing and coaching units seperately and together to gunner what is affecting perfomance of individual and team. During OKUDO’S time in office players were motivated and given incentives such as winning was 1k and scoring 3rd goal and above each goal 500/= per player does it still happen today? Do office talks to the fans? Its time we all this are done as thats why we won the league in 1995 with the like of okumu, ogada, odiaga, maruti among others

Zico’s position in Gor Mahia is now untenable, i expect him to resign next week either as Harambee Stars Coach or Gor Mahia’s. However, the next big headache we have is to find an able replacement. I could suggest a stop-gap measure in his assistant and then come the ed of season we scout the whole world for the best coach on our budget. That coach should be assisted by an ex-Gor Mahia player who will at the end of that coaches tenure take over (in business it is called succession planning) That new coaches brief will be to oversee the revamping of our technical department complete with scouts, youth structures, medical department. Let’s use this opportunity to professionalize our technical bench. That deal with Palmeiras of Brazil could come in handy in getting us a new coach and also technical assistance to train our other coaches.

I now see it clearly. The players are there but there is no coach. Kosero in Kampala what do you say? Did you see the first line up against Congo. Did you see some sparks after the hurried substitutions? There is definitely something which is not right. Some call it arrogance, I call it stupidity. With that kind of coach we should to forget the title very fast. Now I agree totally with this coach Gor stands no chance to win the league. By the way he has a full technical bench experienced people like Ole Tunda, Korea etc, does he ever consult? But I want to condemn the stone throwers, please, please do not throw a stone no matter what the provocation. We lost the match, at least lets keep the image.

  • Bad game, bad result. The writer of this article is not objective. Congo were the better side. They were composed from the first whistle.

Bwana Chairman, please listen to the fans. Please act when there is still time. The stones will soon be unbearable for Ziko and next will be you. What we witnessed at the stadium was not funny. In this country most reforms came through violence and riots. I believe you were here to witness it. At that time the youth who could stand up to the police were branded hooligans. Gor is not different. This is a new age of constitutionalism and calmness and there is still an opportunity to sort out the club matters calmly but if no action is seen to have been taken by the next match, woe unto you and your team. Chairman forget this KPL nonsense and help Kogalo, Ziko choose Harambee or Gor or both of you will be fans next season.

  • When we had 10 games left i suggested that the Chairman convene a meeting for bonding so that the players and coaches would close the season as a team but i don’t think that was done.

There is too much negative energy in the playing unit and the stands. Bwana Rachier what is happening in Gor could be a blessing in disguise for you. If you can steer the ship through this storm and still win the league you may just be the person Kenyan football needs. We need to know that we have an able captain for our ship. Silence has never been an answer.

Zico please relax and the players will relax. You always seem tense on the bench. It is recommended that coaches sometimes wear suits to show confidence because a team derives its confidence from their leader.

Please arrange a retreat out of town for the whole team to watch and understand ‘the secret’. The players played like they thought they would loose, the fans thought they would loose and so a loss was inevitable. When you have more than 10,000 negative thoughts in one field you will understand why Congo beat us.

The modern game is more than fitness and ball skills but also has psychology as a key ingredient and that’s why great managers like Sir Alex bring mind games before crucial matches to unsettle opponents. All coaches in the league are nowadays saying we will beat Gor so as to get on top psychologically before matches. It seems to be working.

Kogalo Nation, please let us relax and enjoy the beautiful game when our boys play. Kogirlo divas, we need to see you more to reduce the tension in the field.

This is a long comment and fans please bear with me!!

Firstly, fans please stop throwing stones unnecessarily. Why should we keep on throwing stones? For how long will we continue with this bad habit? I know that we were all hurt that we lost the match but let us sort out our problems in a peaceful way.

Secondly, now it is time to clean the technical bench in order to resuscitate the ethos of the club. I had earlier called for a forum where officials and fans can engage one another on how the standard of our game can be improved. However, the coach has drastically changed our usual pattern of short crisps passes and attractive flow of the game from midfield-strikers to now unattractive football styles of long balls.

Thirdly, Gor Mahia for years have been known for playing attractive football that even if we lose a game, fans will leave the stadium fully satisfied with the result. Most fans will attest to this that there have been a call for the coach to change and to listen to fans’ concerns but our calls have been ignored by both the office and coach. For example the coach was away on FIFA coaching clinic but to my surprise he was sitting in the technical bench. He was supposed to have left the technical bench members that were with the team during the week to stand in for him as this technical team members understood the mix and chemistry of players who were in the training. Where was Collins Okoth Gattuso? I still believe that Gattuso is best midfielder in Gor Mahia and his absence was largely felt by the Kogalo fraternity.

Fourthly, our frequent calls for Zico to unite players have gone into deaf ears and this is the problem in the team. There is no teamwork and cohesion due to Zico dictatorship style of dividing and reclassifying players. At this age and era of modern football, the coach should be the figurehead but not abusive the way it has been happening in Gor Mahia. The coach must have charisma to unite players but not to insult them will all sorts of crude abuses.

Fifthly, Zico has a tendency of punishing players for no apparent reasons for example any personal differences with players will immediately be extended to the pitch either by omitting player from the starting line-up or permanently removing the player from the team-sheet. notable example is Owiti, Kiplagat, Moses Odhiambo and Gattuso. This is not the best method or strategy of disciplining players. There are better methods of disciplining players such as denying them weekly training allowances or suspending them from training.

Sixthly, the coach should act like the father at all times in order to boost morale of players and this will lead to winning games. Motivation of players is the key strategy of winning games but not extending personal differences to the pitch. The coach should psyche players at all times during the matches, in training and outside the pitch. Winning games is in the mind as 75% of perfect performance comes from right mentality.

Lastly, we had proposed to office to engage the services of Psychologist to boost the coaching techniques but no-one has even listened to this noble suggestion. For example in Europe, the services of Psychologist are within the club setup that psyches or brings about the winning mentality in teams.

  • Thanks Mwakio for this analysis but the problem is that apart from us, the people to act on your info will ignore it as usual. How sensitive is the chairman to our grievances? My recommendation is that ZD takes a two month leave for soul searching if he cannot throw in the towel. Since winning the league appears a tall order we can as well use the remaining time to get our flowing soccer back and aim for a top eight finish. On our fans stone throwing is archaic and has not place in the modern world. One hand is working so hard to bring sanity including petitioning SS to air our matches yet some even stoned their vehicles last sato. Maybe we need a few dedicated fans than a multitude of which a good number will not reason. The best thing on sato would have been to let SS and Congo out of the stadium and then sorting out our issues. We get some much bad publicity from such acts and it becomes hard to convince even our friends to join the GM family

    Great fans of K’ogalo. Saseni.
As i type this , am away deep in the heart of maasailand.

I have followed your comments since the beginning of the season up to where we are now. Sometimes I can’t stop to admire the kind of passion you exibit for this great club. some of your suggestions are well thoughtout and progressive. if you were part of the fans who pushed for a club shuttle, congratulations. If your noises are the one agitating for a renogotiation of club jersey, this is very good of you.

However gentlemen, my brothers, you have also become a nuisance on this blog. You have constantly piled pressure on our coach to resign for his lackluster performance. We are very passion and loyal fans as you. Worst still, you have conspired with your sympathisers to boycott the remaining fixtures to protest on th dwidling performance of the club.

I dare you to make good your threats. The rest of us will always come to the stadium, cheer and give them a standing ovation even when they loose. That is the spirit of football. You cannot take a great club like K’ogalo at ransom. Zico must be given some space to discharge his mandate effectively.

Football activism is out of bound at k’ogalo. This is a modern club. The chairman is a top notch lawyer and is gunning for a top seat at the forthcoming football polls. Ian afraid you might find yourselves in the wrong side of history. You have said enough. In the book, betrayal in the city, jusper Wendo said, ‘ if the madness of the entire nation disturb a solitary mind, it is not enough to say a man is mad’. I admire your passion but not activism.

Better still, our game against Brazil?? free flowing football, deft touches, sleek movements!! . . .again, It was Korea who was in charge, why not let him guide us back to the eye catching game, at least till the end of the season, when the vacant position is announced through the media! . . .this time round let the management not handpick candidates as has always been the trend, . . let the person who qualifies get the job, pple may say Akwana ama who?. . . .let him/ they apply kwanza. . . . .we are the people,we speak as one. . . .we wil finish third luckily, if something is done, that is.

ZICO has been with the team for a considerable period so he ought to know whom to field, however, he is absolutely clueless and still gambling. gambling normally dilutes teams’s chemistry & spirit. ZDs tactic is to make an easy game look very tough as we have witnessed with games against angola,g.bissau, mathare, karuturi, congo literally all the games this season…….therefore i honestly believe he has outlived his ‘usefulness’ if any; in fact even if we were to offer him another 3yrs believe you me, he wont deliver even a silverware. destroying talent and careers is all he does with the huge & young talent pool we have in camp today.

the way forward is to have a caretaker coach this week for the remainder of the season & build a strong outfit for the coming seasons as SIANGA had envisaged when he identified the likes of berry, kitawi, masika, kip, wekesa…………..otherwise we shall watch titles come & go without holding any

  • @Ole, I have been on your side with @Kosero but the results of Sato were just too painfull to swallow. But on the way of getting better results I will not shy away from condemning hooliganism as a way of getting results. If we could change the national constitution (a matter of life and death) without any issue of violence then why can’t we do the same in GM. I still insist that ZD needs to proceed on leave, we try Ngwa’s uncle, PRO, Awilo and Korea for the remaining matches. As much as the chairman is a competent lawyer hands-off eyes-off won’t do for a public entity like GM. Ole Magelo is hands-on in AFC and they have started reaping friuts from their changes. We have little to lose by taking the same path, Sofapaka are also on their way up, so are Ulinzi. All the same I still maintain that @Kosero and @ole still mean well for the club by suggestion that changes be done in a dignified way instead of the stone-throwing. It’s now even rumoured that one of our new top striker was hit by a stone. God forbid. At this rate there might be an exodus from the club by our top players. Already a good number are on the radar of top KPL teams.

The results were not good at all. As they say, Kogallo will leave to fight another day. Its not all lost. Kogallo lost to a better side. Congo United played a very good game and they deserved to win. They have become dawa ya Kogallo. Remember the Red Berets of last season, City Stars this season and a host of small teams like Nzoia, Pan Paper, Motcom, Scarlet in the 80’s and 90’s. Gor would not beat these teams. Personally I do not see any crisis to warrant abuses and stone throwing. Its purely football. For the fans who are threatening not to attend Kogallo remaining matches, I say it is well, take a break, come back to the stadium when Kogallo start winning just like you did 2 years ago. In fact Kogallo would play a better football in a stadium without fun than when they are there. Funs put alot of pressure on the players and the coach for no good reason. I pray that KPL orders that we play all our remaining matches in an empty stadium. For God and my club Kogallo

It is now an open secret that there is a tag of war between Rachier and Ataro and the ripple effect was to be felt in the technical bench sooner rather than later.

Talking to a reliable source on phone, I was able to establish that Gatusso did not have an injury and was expected to play, but the assistant coach refused to include him on the bench leave alone in the first 11. Another, equally credible source, intimated that Kevin Omondi too was well and also had expected to play but was ruled out at the last minute by the assistant coach. Collins has since put his discipline issues behind him and close friends confirm that he was in deed disappointed having psyched for the game and felt that he had been denied a chance to play.

Could the assistant coach – one Anaba Awono, referred to by many as the ‘Cameroonian’ owing to his nationality actually be part of the problem at K’Ogalo? Is it possible he has been sucked into the supremacy wars by the officials?

Mr. Anaba Awono reports to Zico or at least he should and hence, the question that remains on the fans’ minds is whether Zico is in control of the coaching or not. If Zico is in-charge why did he allow the assistant to make the selection? Did he attend all the training sessions in the week and if not was his absence authorised by the office? “There is a big problem in the technical bench that is affecting even the coach and the earlier it is solved the better,” said a K’Ogalo official who did not want his name to me revealed.

The existence of a problem has been established, what matters now is how efficiently and effectively we can find a solution – for the long term, not just a quick fix!

After reading this i thought that may be we hv been addressing the wrong issues.

The problem is ZICO, he’s clueless!!

  • Please let us not transfer blame to some Cameroonian. The technical bench is one and must act as such. Whether Ziko was there or not, his other colleagues owe him an explanation before dismissing anyone from the starting line up or team.

I still feel the team is crumbling from pressure. The officials need to sit down out of town with the technical team and players for team building and bonding and afterwards hold a press conference and calm the fans. If we pick anyone as a new coach today and fix them in Zeddy’s position, we will have a third coach before the season ends. I really sympathize with this man Zeddy. We loved him when he played for us. He fought gallantly in all his battles as a number two. He really wants Gor to win, it’s written clearly on his face when we play. That is why as much as i also get really frustrated and angry, i always choose to offer him advice.

Please players of mighty Kogalo (if you ever read this), please give your all when called upon to play. Don’t play like you play for Ziko or some official. Play like you play for Kogalo. When you waste chances like i see in every game, the whole script changes. Please spend time with former Gor greats and understand what is expected of you. When you throw away chances, sometimes people could die, property could be destroyed, the coach may be sacked, wives may be beaten, EABL may loose money, TUZO could leave and that great career you have always wanted may disappear in thin air.

I am only aware of one Player in Gor with another job so please great players of Kogalo, you need to play all remaining games like champions. Play like you will be hungry if you loose. Play like it’s your last day in this world. If you think you are better than the coach, remember he lifted the trophy you are trying to lift. Fight for yours and give him all the respect he deserves while he is still coach.

Great days lie ahead but only for those willing to seize the opportunity.

  • it hurts me as a strong GM follower who has to be on the road to Nairobi every friday or sato to come watch such a disgusting show where players dont even know who to pass the ball to, the question is DOES THE MANAGEMENT get time to see the raection of fans in these sites? can somebody advise ZEDDY to preseve 10minutes each day and visit the website, to the chairman ARE U REALLY in control or its now the race to capture the national seat, after saturday’s game i felt disappointed to the toe, last season the title slipped just like that and all went well can we start saying that this season which is almost coming down is gone? NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER, i left Arsenal and dedicated my energy to support SIRKAL, i will not accept personal differences between the coach and players to ruin the flowing football that can only be seen in GOR MAHIA to disappear, even in class students advise or offer help to teachers when they are stuck, CAN the coaching staff allow pieces of advice from players and do the necessary action instead of crucifying them? hell no, ZEDDY, NO WAY, we are having 8remaining matches, what do we expect? can somebody tell me, ve not healed from last saturday’s humiliation defeat, we expect good results and not 1-0, 1-1,0-0, 2-1, not that we cant, you get good players, good pay, fans behind the time, what else do you need? GOR MAHIA has gone international and this could be proven by the number of WAZUNGUS that flocked city stadium, we want results Zeddy

@Ja Ngere, what you are trying to explain here does not exclude Zico from all blames. The buck stops with the head coach but not his assistant as you may allude. Zico has been responsible for Gor Mahia problems and it is either he changes his attitude or resigns for the shake of the club. Officials like Ataro are also put on notice that comes AGM, it wont be business as usual.

LET US PUT OUR HOUSE IN ORDER WITHOUT ANY FATAL
    VICTIMIZATION AND DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY.

Yes i am aware of the latest “Wiki-Leaks” that were confided to me about the apparent move of current Ko-galo players in bulk due to frustration ;but that can not justify hooliganism since it is within there individual rights to do so if they feel that there future career is very much threaten.

    1. GATTUSO……….TUSKER (Confirmed)
    2. MASIKA………..AFC (Being negotiated)
    3. LAVATSA………. AFC (Proposed)
    4. KEVIN OMONDI….. SOFAPAKA (Proposed)

And many more that remain very confidential.

Thank you brother Dan and i duly agree with your comments and suggestion as stated above @ 35. I also concur with you that we all belong and subscribe to our beloved club namely GOR MAHIA (GM) although we might differ in our personal opinions as regards the current issue’s at stake within the club.

I have been a very harsh critic of the GM Technical bench on this blog based on the current downward trend that the club is experiencing not because of any personality issue’s but rather purely on the way things are being managed with regard to professionalism and modernization.

If you read my last two comments in the previous article i did actually predicted that the worse is yet to come.

I denounce violence of what so ever nature as way of sorting out our internal issue’s as a family of “JO-KOGALO”, i hate tribalism, nepotism and social classification of fans based on our financial status. I can not stand Human cannibalism and every human life and property is a precious and important sanctity deep inside my heart and soul ( Even if it is @ KOSERO despite our disagreement).

Suppose the live “BULLET” that was fired while fans wanted get at ZICO ended up hitting some one wont we be mourning with blasting headlines from the media that has some far reaching consequences.

For those of us who are suffering from selective amnesia please apply wisdom of always being OBJECTIVE and not SUBJECTIVE.

WHY REFER TO GOR MAHIA as a “JO-GEM and JO-KARIOBANGI” affairs. Why should we have “CAMPS” and “GANGSTERS” within the officials and the Technical bench that spills down to players and fans.

I did comment sometimes back that GOR MAHIA is not a “LUO-affairs thing” or a “POLITICAL platform for that matter” but a family with bigger FRATERNITY than any Individual. GOR is for people from all walks of life and what they treasure in it is “FOOTBALL-SOCCER”.

I will provide my comments on the “WAY-FORWARD” after the successful ” DISMISSAL OF ZICO BY THE GREEN ARMY LAST SATURDAYS”.

I end up by calling for all of us to “ACCOMODATE EACH OTHER IRRESPECTIVE OF THE SUBJECT MATTER (“ZICO-MUST -GO!”) and let us debate soberly based on facts and figures.

GOD BLESS GOR MAHIA FRATERNITY UNTIL ETERNITY.

Comrade Lucas Odede. Even if I am away in the heart of maasailand, I have actually watched the game live thanks to SuperSport.

The ugly scenes immediately witnessed after the match was very unfortunate, barbaric and unsportsmanlike. The section of fans who were baying for Zico’s blood are still leaving in the dark days of the club.

At western, the fans could not reason with a bodaboda driver who picked a phone. At nyayo national stadium, fans destroyed a bus belonging to Ulinzi Fc. At mbarski sports ground, we have seen a section of our fans roughing up the refer. These acts of hooliganism is denting the image of our club.

Please do not peddle rumors on this blog. This is no not the Nairobi Stock Exchange bourse where brokers gather to speculate on the prices of shares. The transfer window is still closed and we shall cross the bridge when we reach there.

Lastly I wish to take this early opportunity to condolethe families and friends who lost their loved ones during the Sinai fire tragedy. It seems the devil had paid us a visit. poleni sana.

When is the Chairman issuing a statement on the crisis affecting GM.Its not about Ziko anymore,he sealed his fate against Congo, its about one A Rachier taking control and sorting matters out or continuing to protect Ziko. The article from gorfc.com won’t hold coz:
    1. GM was playing poorly even b4 PRO joined the technical bench,
    2. A Rachier is the Chairman and the buck stops with him, period.

CAN THE PRESS GET A STATEMENT FROM A.R REGARDING THE CRISIS AT K’GALO

  • What we have currently is the best team that has managed Gor in a long time. I will lecture them just like a spoilt child whom a parent can even cane but never hate. I will demand that they concentrate on Gor not FKL or Harambee Stars. I will continue offering the little advice i can from my position as an ardent fan and supporter.

After the AFC game i was and still am convinced Zico is a good tactician. I am willing to support him to the last man. I only pray that God gives him courage and wisdom to listen, to forgive, to understand and love all his players and to lead by example and avoid all vices that destroy sporting careers.

I will not join the ‘Zico must go’ team. I believe only the name will change in that slogan immediately after Zico.

If Zico hadn’t created a team we can believe in, would we be mentioning the names we keep on mentioning? We mention the names because there is a day when they played well under Zico. Why can’t they repeat their feats. What Zico has done is move us from the ground to the roof and now we feel we ought to be in the sky. Let us support this man. Together we will fly. It will define how we carry our business into the future as a great club. Zico will go one day for sure but for the next two seasons let us support this office and technical bench and advice them accordingly. Let us build structures that allow smooth succession during such rough patches.

I beg all the Kogalo faithful to join me in generating positive energy for our remaining matches. When we quote players and officials as being anti Gor it doesn’t help us. When we mention names of players already leaving and expect them to shine over the weekend, we are killing our team. When we generate rumours that the assistant coach is destroying Gor, we only kill the spirit in the team. When we allow certain officials to fight our chair when elections are nowhere near, we only destroy what we have achieved thus far. When we talk of Jo Gem or Jo Kariobangi which i’m neither, are we not shooting ourselves in the foot. How do we win with this politics? How do we win matches? Please tell me how do we win? How do we win?

Let us tolerate each others strengths and weaknesses and pull in one direction.

Let the pretenders to the throne enjoy their short spells of success but know that mighty Gor is coming soon. Gor are already fundraising champions this season. Don’t teams also play to win cash? Gor has brought fans back to the stadia en masse. Shouldn’t we cork the champagne to celebrate this? We have so much they they only wish they had. Our beauties create envy from opposing teams with their well rounded bottoms, narrow waists and need i say more…

We are Gor Mahia. We are leaders. We are Champions.

Thank you OKOTH JABILO @ 50 with your comments which are full of “POSITIVE ENERGIES”. I warned you guys in my comments on the last article that:
Too much ” NEGATIVE ENERGIES AGAINST ONE ANOTHER IS SLOWING TAKING KO-GALO BACK TO THE INTENSIVE CARE UNIT”.

Now we can see a fractured KO-GALO FAN BASE that no longer subscribes to GOR-MAHIA as club but to the EGO-CENTRIC individuals who care very little about sanctity of life at large and individual assets generally.

PLEASE LET US NOT MAKE OURSELF TO BE DECLARED AS A DIS-ORGANIZED ORGANIZATION THAT LACKS SELF CONTROL AND REMAINS HIGHLY CHARGED WHEN PROVOKED AT THE SLIGHTEST INSTANCE.

    Gor Mahia will be there for eternity as you so put it JABILO. BUT ALL FANS Please be informed that you only attend the matches for entertainment the last within 90 plus some few minutes and there after you will be required by;

    1. YOUR FAMILY
    2. YOUR FRIENDS
    3. YOUR BUSINESS PARTNERS OR WORK-MATES
    4. And so on……

Do our actions on this blog and at the stadiums warrants or else ensures that there is continuity in our daily life activities with the above.

@ODUOR12, I dont think there is a crisis. Losing a match to a better drilled side does not mean crisis not unless I dont get the meaning of the word right. I beg to be corrected. By the way isnt PRO, Zablon Otieno? The web site gorfc.com is talking about the cameroonian called Anaba Awono. I fully support his decision to field the players as he did. He did not have a choice. Gattuso and the other stars players are the problem in Gor. The coach will field players according to how they respond to training. I have said this severally. Gattuso and company should not expect to be fielded without attending training sessions. Even if Gor looses all the reamining matches, so be it. Total adherence to discipline is paramount. Some fans said ZD was frustrating players. Now we hear Ass. coach. Dont you guys think that we need a new crop of disciplined players. Even if you bring in a new coach, with that kind of indiscipline, Gor will not go far. For God and my club Kogallo

  • I shudder when I read @38 that no stones were thrown at the stadium. Looks like some of us comment on this site just for the sake. The stone throwing was something that happened but was not necessary. My workmate sent me for a Gor T-shirt which i proudly bought but the psych while handling the t-shirt was not there especially after they read the editorial and sports page of the Daily Nation. I also fear when I hear that players want to leave (who wouldn’t anyway?). That can only mean one thing. We can only recruit from City stars/Rangers because of the financial advantage otherwise all the teams/players are well-catered for now. Looks like now not only the bench and players who are pulling apart but the management as well. No more collective responsibility. By the way who runs the merchandise shop? Does the club gain as they used to in the previous arrangement. I tried to innocently ask that question while buying the merchandise for my friends but was told that it’s a sacred topic and what was my problem. Has GM become a gold mine for somebody somewhere? Even heard during the Tusker game that an insider had printed their own tickets. God forbid. With the current sponsorship and fan base I think we should no longer rely on the magnanamity of any individual to lead the club. With the things the facebook is doing to support the club it means we are not short of people to take the club to the next level. I think the chair and current office have done enough (thanks to them) but now we want to go to the level of TP Mazembe, Esperance etc. and that means full dedication to the course and not mara FKL Chairman/mara GM Chair mara GM coach mara Harambee coach. All these things are making it hard for us to save face after all the swag we have been known for.

My two-cent analysis of the going-ons is that the problem is not actually the technical bench as such, but with the management committee. Gor is bound by societies act and the representatives of the stakeholders at the helm(the management committee), currently are very much remote to those they represent(read the fans).

We have a management that is completely detached from the fans. No official communication is coming from the office, only occasional Facebook posts from the organising secretary whenever there is a hike on gate charges! This has opened the doors for peddling rumours amongst the fans. And to make it worse, either the technical bench is party to the same or they are being held hostage by the management. Really if you’ve been given a job to do and for one reason or the other you feel somebody is interfering, you raise an alarm. Is it a matter of life and death that a coach can allow his duty to be interfered with and just exude confidence(which is actually arrogance) at the touchline without raising the issue with his employer?

I foresee a tough time for my beloved team for the remaining matches if the administration continue with their greed and unwarranted jealousies. being at the helm of an organisation does not command respect but it earns it through your selfless service to those you represent(not lead). The sabbotage started way back when we met Rangers and it’s like some people had made their minds Gor were not to be crowned league champions this year.

Lastly, am one of those who will never pick a stone or harsh word to throw to a fellow human being. However, stone throwing will never be eliminated if the management continues with this aloofness, never ever, however much you bloggers here want allocate time for that advocacy. Let them come out occasionally and talk tko these passionate fans you here like branding as hooligans.

Its this kind of your chairman that’s in ZD’s head..that’s in GM’s results and in some fans behaviour! Am sure with good mgt we would not be talking about -fake tickets, confused jerzy sales,no secretariat..lastly with or without Rachier,Ataro etc. GM moves all that matters is transparency as opposed to manipulation and false heroism currently exhibited at GM. We saw this coming that Zico will take Gor Mahia nowhere. It has come to pass that second leg has proved very difficult for Gor Mahia due to lack of effective communication with players from the technical bench. It is better to listen to our positive comments than to ignore. The cost of ignoring is now leading us to dismal performance. We liken this to the proverbial say that despiste the stones refusing to change, they have heard our comments loud and clear. We will continue to comments on matters aimed at improving the club performance. We do not hate Zico but it is time for him to concentrate on Harambee Stars that is also performing like Gor Mahia.

  • Romours (why it has to be this i’m not sure) have it that we might have Nam (Agro chemical coach) to take up the coaching role. The problem is that Agro is in second place in the Nationwise league and need to return to the KPL more than anything else. I believe even Akhwana can be given a chance. ZD really helped us last year but looks like his partnership with GM is no longer working for either party. I wish he gets the asst. coach of Harambee since we also need a Williamson (the cranes coach) as the main coach there with a local understudy. Remember Fabish (RIP) and Ghost partnership. As we strive to make changes let’s do it in a dignified way remembering that whoever you hound out of office today is the person you might need tomorrow. We haunted Gidi and Pamzo (Tusker) out but were they to show interest in GM now you will find the same people welcoming him back with open arms. What I’m advocating is a peacefull transition which will help us in the few matches to go and not the herd or mob mentality which is driven more by emotion than rational thinking. Guys we are now at our weakest in terms on unity though some will still deny it. The chairman is being challenged by his fellow officials, the technical bench not corporating with each other, not sure whether the playing unit are now treating each other as comrades-in-arms, the fans dividing themselves between jo-gem and jo-kariobangi (whatever that means and where does it leave some of us from Kibera, Kaloleni, Kajiado (Ole Pareiyo), Kampala (Kosero) etc). The person to cool all this is the chairman. Remember even in politics at times to move forward you are forced to sacrifice your best friend(s). Depending on how he handles all this we can still have the best season in a long time. It’s my belief that all the contributors mean well for the club and the only difference is how to make that steep-change that will result in us feeling proud again. While @Kosero and @creative village are for some smooth transition (corporate style)some are bare knuckles wanting the coach to leave but let’s wait for the chairman to show leadership in this case. We shoudn’t just shove ZD out like an unwanted guest in our home but we must look back at what he has done for the club. I’m sure he still means well for the club only that it’s not working for him. I wish there could be some mutual agreement with him proceeding on leave (remember city stars doing that while at no. 16 in the league and then reinstating him) and seeing things from our own perspective as fans.

  • WHAT’ S THE PROBLEM ZICO MULTITASKING?

I think all of us know the prerogative of hiring & firing the coach rests with the executive committee( EC).

Whatever decisions the EC takes from time to time, must capture the aspirations of the fans. Our great club is now torned between Zicophobia and Zicomania. I have tried to articulate my position and is well documented elsewhere on this blog.

I wish to reaffirm that position by stating that I still have confidence with our coach despite the dwinling performance. The recent loss by GM to Congo united is not a benchmark to measure his performance. In the English premier league, red bull have suprised well decorated teams like Man U and Arsenal.

I see no reason why Zico should multi – task. To coach the national team is an honor no one can reject. To coach a club he once won it’s jersey is both a honor and also fulfill a dream most players only dreamt of . Despite the noises, zico remain unbwogable in the face of harsh criticism.

My simple advice to “ZICO” is that he should not risk his life for what obviously does not belong to him.

@69 Pundit do not bother yourself with those who are still mourning the departure of ZICO. Refer them to our comments of AUGUST,15,2011 after we played to a draw with Karuturi. They can read for themselves my comments @20 OKOTH JABILO and your support @ 21 Pundit.

@71 Jasawagongo i thank you very much for seeing the light beyond the tunnel and subscribing to our school of thought. But do not blame MWAKIO if he feels bad that his cousin KITAWI left because of the obvious that you bragged on this blog that “IN GM BAD COACHES ARE CHASED AWAY BY THE MAJORITY OF FANS IN THE STADIUM” AND IF WE FEEL SO OFFENDED WHY NOT TAKE ACTION.

@Jasawagongo i am happy to hear that you are calling for a very peaceful transition but please do not provoke “GOR MAHIA FRATERNITY TO GO INTO VIOLENCE”. If you were at the city stadium on Saturday the i hope you saw for yourself how “ZICO’S LIFE WAS RISK” with the fans baying for his blood. PLEASE EVEN IF ZD & AR are your village-mates always remember that “GOR IS BIGGER THAN ALL OF US”. We are all stakeholders and for heaven sake late us embrace one another.

Tell RACHIER that he has simply destroyed “ZICO’S” coaching career by simply not managing him and just leaving him to dream on his past glory as a player to the extent of even becoming arrogant to fans.

So as we put our comments on this blog then let us all know that records are there for reference.

After all that has been said and said what is the position as of now? According to Michezoafrika.com the GM officials call for patience promising that a solution will be found sooner than later. And from Kenyastar.co.ke Nam claims the issue of GM coaching is still romours to him. Thank God we have no engagement this weekend. It’s a pity that with a sponsor we still pay some players as low as 18K!! I used to think the lowest was paid kitu 30K. No wonder some are eyeing AFC , Sofapaka, tusker etc. I hope we will not go back to rebuilding the team again, Sianga style. Let’s be patient and respect each others’ views as no one on this blog has a monopoly of ideas. Hoping for a happy ending to all this drama to the benefit of all, and most of all to GM.

I dont think it is wise to discuss players salary in this blog. Secondly this blog is full of war and romour mongers. I think it is a way of creating disunity in the playing unit. World over, players usually negotiate thier salaries. I think it is in bad taste for one to claim that player so and so earns more than the other. Even outside football circles, a profesional can be head hunted and he will move in on his own negotiated terms. Most of us are professional and let us not feign ignorance on very simple and clear stuff like this. Why blame management? for God and my club kogallo
