The highly anticipated Gor Mahia fun day which had been set for this Madaraka day Friday has now been postponed up to next weekend, the 9th of June.Gor Mahia’s Vice Chair Faiz Ochieng’ told Michezoafrika.com security concerns were top on the list for the reasons the fun day was postponed.

“We were finalizing on the arrangements with the hosts, splash waterworld and the police but then the Deputy OCPD told us that they will not be able to provide police offoicers as they will be involved in the Madaraka day arrangements as it will be a security function,”  Faiz says.

He also said that the team’s sponsors TUZO milk had requested to be made part of the day since they were initially not officially put on the program.

“You know our sponsors are like our employers and we have to factor them in when we are planning. They wanted to be part of the day in that fans who will pay to get in will get two free packets of Tuzo milk as part of their appreciation. That is also another reason we pushed it forward,” he adds.

Faiz says that the day was set aside to bring Gor Mahia fans together and also act as a way of telling the public that there is more to Gor Mahia that then wide spread notion of violence.

Also to be done on the same day was the unveiling of new players but this will now be done next weekend.

Malawi coach shows trust and in his boys who have excelled in the local league or home grown players and carries the day at KASARANI. That is why this too much hype about overrated pros cum ex-Mathare,SOFAPAKA ,and childish buddies will not take Kimanzi anywhere!

It’s high time Kenya gets a neutral coach, just like what logarithm has done in GM and we shall go places! Where was Jamaal busy playing? Or the so called Kimani where has he gotten this playing time while globe trotting looking fourth division teams in Europe.

In Malawi I saw like three RAMA’S doing rounds and turning the so called Kenyan pro’s in and out, left, right and centre. Can you compare RAMA to MULAMA, JAMAL,or the out place MUGUBI. Bure KABISA!!!!! KIMANZI gags press and end up outwitted by PHIRi who was friendly to the fourth estate.

  • CONGRATULATIONS HARAMBEE STARS

We were lucky to escape being roasted by the Malawi Flames.

Keeper Boniface Oluoch is undoubtedly the man of the match. I must commend the rest of our boys for putting a spirited fight but unfortunately luck was not in our side. The relatively large crowd at the stadium that included two fans who share the same number one slot, the Right Hon. PM, RAO and Isaac Juma kept their hopes alive until the last whistle.

I will repeat on saying our local football coaches, inspite of their impressive CV’s lacked courage to overhaul the national team. They do not want to rattle many feathers lest they kiss the plum job goodbye. I wonder what kind of peptalk this coaches give this boys at the dressing room. Do these boys really have the desire to play in the international level, let’s say in the world cup?

I am compelled to ask myself this hard questions because of the way this boy play on their field. The fighting spirit is completely not there. No wonder statistics of today’s match showed no attempts at goal by the home boys. Pathetic, to say the least!

Having said this, i wish to commend the organizers of today’s internal qualifier for the kind of security rolled out in and outside Kasarani ( or did I hear soebody say kisirani?) The e- tickets are equally welcome and hope it would stay.

What Kimanzi and his boys played today is a far cry from the kind of display Zico’s team showed against Angola in Luanda or against Uganda in Kampala.

I join @Okoth Jabilo to wonder on what grounds Jamal and Kevin Kimani were given a call up live alone being fielded. This is all “chicken’s droppings’ if I may quote baba Jimmy.

Kimanzi has confirmed that he is no longer the good tactician he was once upon a time.
