  • WHAT IS IT?

First, to comrade mwakio, i wish a safe and successful safari to France.

What you will only miss is the fun and excitement at the Nyayo national stadium tomorrow. We can still interact on this site no matter where you are on the globe thanks to ICT.

Well, I must be frank. What is this animal called Haka that was lauched by a section of our fans? How does it help in the overall realization of our goal? Has it been sanctioned by the EC? if such a tech cannot help this club to achieve it’s goal, then I submit it should be let to die as a dodo.

There are only 13hrs left to big Nairobi derby.
We had heard much of the leopards bragging on tv tonight that they have found a formulae to beat us. If u think Jan Koop carries the magical wand, then you are in for a rude shock. Our boys are pyched and are confident they will make us happy morgen.
Let’s meet at the stadium guys!

@ pareyio ole lelerue the haka is just a rallying call; a rallying call for the kind of courage and bravery that our Kogalo morans need to slay eleven hungry leopards.

In the late eighties Kogalo was in an almost similar situation when we had to meet Ingwe at Kasarani with our playing unit in shambles.

Gor fielded a makeshift and relatively unknown side while Ingwe had their best eleven that included Mickey Weche, Patrick Shim, Wilberforce Mulamba, Josphat Murila etc. Jared Achieng Achieng was making his debut in Kogalo colours and what he and the other boys did at the end of those ninety minutes still remains documented as one of the many “mahias” (miracles) of Kogalo.

    I smell another miracle!!

He may have left the country almost a year ago to join the paid ranks in Denmark but Kenya Premier League’s Player of the Year George ‘Blackberry’ Odhiambo will be keenly following Sunday’s derby between Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards.

SuperSport.com sought to get his thoughts on the clash between the archrivals and who he thinks will emerge victorious as well as Gor’s inconsistent season.

SuperSport.com: As a former Gor Mahia player what do you think about Sunday’s clash against Leopards?

Blackberry: Coach Zedekiah Otieno must change the team line up if he really wants to win that match.

SuperSport.com: Why do you say he has to change the squad?

Blackberry: The squad coach Zico has been using has not been strong enough to win important matches.

SuperSport.com: So you think that the current Gor Mahia squad is not strong enough?

Blackberry: Yes it is not because they because they lack the willpower to fight on.

SuperSport.com: Do you feel K’Ogalo’s failure to win their last three games in a row has dealt their title chance a big blow?

Blackberry: For sure and this is not good to the fans at all as the league is almost coming to an end and yet the coach had promised the fans the league title this season and that is why you see fans putting a lot of pressure on him because he had promised to deliver.

SuperSport.com: So do you feel AFC Leopards can beat Gor Mahia in the derby on Sunday given their current impressive form?

Blackberry: If AFC Leopards are well prepared they can beat Gor because they are in great form winning matches and we all know that if Gor lose the match they will be in hot soup because the fans want nothing but a win.

SuperSport.com: Do you still support Gor Mahia even though you are away?

Blackberry: Yes, I still support my team and what is happening in the team is demoralizing not only to me but to fans throughout out the country.

SuperSport.com: Can you please elaborate on that statement?

Blackberry: Coach Otieno took away good players who played a big part in ensuring the team finished second last season and brought in new players who don’t have the mental toughness and spirit of to make Gor Mahia win matches.

SuperSport.com: Who are some of these players you are referring to?

Blackberry: Players like Ibrahim Kitawi, Mark Andrea, Akango, Wekesa and Kiplagat were very good players but most are either out of the team or warming the bench. As coach he knows why he did that but it was not a good move to drop all the players that helped him last season.

SuperSport.com: What do you think the coach should have done instead?

Blackberry: I think the coach should have brought in a few new players to the team a move that could have brought competition at the squad as everybody would be fighting for a place but now even the captain is on the bench.

SuperSport.com: So you are not happy with the changes made by the coach this season?

BlackBerry: I personally feel that those players were vital to K’Ogalo but he sent them away and when you look at Kitawi for example, he is doing well at Tusker but while at Gor Mahia he was never given a chance

    Bravo Fred Tambo @8.

Blackberry is sharing our very sentiments and that is all spilled milk now.

Let us go to the stadium to watch the match “na liwalo liwe”.

Fred Tambo you have rightly put it elsewhere in this blog: “Koops manade”? Let this be our war cry. Someone please sell this to our boys to walk into that pitch this high afternoon with the same war cry in their heads : “KOOPS MANADE”?

  • Sad we lost but we live to fight another day. We have to relook what is happening at the club and come with a new strategy.

Verdict: Coach Zico has got no business in Gor Mahia. This was the third game for Zico to step aside.

  • I support AFC but a fan of Gor. Do not think I am confused. From the eighties when ‘Mahia’ was almost ruling African Football, I sat on AFC side but my heart was on Gor’ side. Almost falling in trouble and branded msaliti on AFC stands. Sammy Owino scored against AFC from a corner kick at 18 yards and I cheered….It was from the bottom of my heart, not my head.
I did not witness Ingwe clobber K’Ogalo today but I am not saddened – if you know the history of these two great clubs. After all without one or both clubs, there is no league. You know when AFC was relagated, there were no spectators and the league was very boring.
So Bakhwasi (mashemeji) calm down. I still have your sister/daughter making ugali iright now.
