FKF decision upheld by KPL

The decision by Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to award Gor Mahia their abandoned match against SoNy Sugar has been upheld.

This was after a joint meeting between and the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) Limited held on Thursday 12 September 2013.

Opponents

SoNy has been given three days to lodge an appeal against the ruling.

-That Sony Sugar F.C is entitled to make an appeal if they so wish to the Appeals Board within 72 hours of this joint communiqué, says the ruling in part.

The 1 September match went smoothly until the 85th minute when Gor Mahia’s David Owino scored to level the scores at 2-2.

Different rulings

Later, KPL found none of the two sides liable for the abandonment and set a date for replay.

However, FKF came out to blame SoNy for the abandonment and awarded Gor the win, a decision that KPL protested.

A communique to media houses points out that the two offices are not at loggerheads, as may appear.

-The relationship between FKF and KPL remains strong and cordial and that the two will continue working together to cement further this relationship for the good of the game.

Standings

After the confirmation, Gor have opened their lead against second-placed Sofapaka FC to eight points, having now totaled 44 points.

  • Hahahaha, where is the lone voice of descent from the Efusi Brainless die hard called Ingo!! We have the points and Well done FKF. Efusi should be content with number 5 as this is the best they can muster. Can we obliterate the competition, yes we can. Let’s teach Tusker a lifelong soccer lesson on Sunday. We just need to win on the trot our next 3 matches and we will be home And dry. Mark my word “on the trot”

I’m happy that fkf and kpl have given a joint fair rulling on the matter however I’m concerned that the aggressor has not been penalisesd for their violent reaction.

Gor’s tally at the top is now reassuring to the extent that Im tempted to count the chicks inside the eggs in anticipation.

Our game on Sunday is very crucial and to me it resembles our last game with Thika last season. My prayer is that the results shoud give us another three points.

What we us fans should remember is that now all eyes will be on GM and any misbehaviour will meet the same treatment. So fans let’s behave especially now that we are playing at Tok K’Omwanda which can be a tricky venue. All the best to the team

I will make my call after the tusker match. (Remember these two have been the best teams in this league over two or three seasons).

The league may as well be gone if we beat Tursker the day after tomorrow.

As usual Mr. Matano has threatened to spoil our party a midst his own advise that GM should not afford any celebrations at this point. We must thus be careful especially the Tech bench and players lest we end up going home with a heavy heart.

  • . . . . .and this should be our breakthrough this time round: we have to try and hit Tusker on the counter attack and shut the door, then we can seat and celebrate.

@Arrumtiddi the City stadium is tricky venue security-wise. This ranges from fans safety to other security issues like car thefts/breakins. I have been a victim and that’s why I can say that

My friends it is too early to celebrate but naturally it will be difficult for chasing park to catch up with K’ogalo since even the chasing park still have to meet themselves and therefore teams like Tusker, Sofapaka, Thika, AFC et al will also drop points. Although Gor may lose or draw in some matches other teams will also not win all there matches. So comrade let us be sobber but this time it is ours. K’ogalo oyee
