Four Kogalo players named to National team
Harambee stars coach Adel Amrouche has named a provisional list of 25 players to start preparations for the return leg against Nigeria in June.
In the squad are David Owino “Jashirati”, Musa Mohammed, Jerim Onyango and Rama Salim. Missing from the list is the injured Edwin Lavatsa. The most surprising inclusion is Musa Mohammed who has struggled to get playing time at Gor Mahia in recent times.
Rama Salim will likely be counted on for goals in the absence of Dennis Oliech who will be badly missed due to a suspension. Also suspended is Arnold Origi, a fact which might pave the way for Jerim Onyango to man the posts. David Owino is the one Kogalo player assured of a place in the starting lineup given his stallar performance marking Victor Moses during the first leg.
Goalkeepers: Duncan Ochieng (Sofapaka FC), Martin Musalia (AFC Leopards), Jerim Onyango (Gor Mahia), Wilson Oburu (Bandari FC)
Defenders: David Ochieng (Tusker FC),David Owino (Gor Mahia), Mulinge Ndeto (Ulinzi Stars), Benedict Owuor (KCB), Abdulatif Omar (Bandari FC), Lloyd Wahome (Mathare United), Musa Mohammed (Gor Mahia), Joseph Shikokoti (Tusker FC)
Midfielders/ forwards: George Owino (SofapakaFC), Patillah Omoto (AFC Leopards), Ali Bhai (Bandari), Peter Opiyo (Tusker FC), Daniel Mwaura (Mathare United FC) , David Kingatua (Thika United), Francis Kahata (Thika United), Ben Baraza (SoNy Sugar FC), Rama Salim (Gor Mahia), Kennedy Otieno (Thika United), Jacob Keli (KCB FC), Ismail Dunga (Tusker FC), Daniel Mutahi Murage(Chemelil Sugar FC)
Musa Mohammed is an all round player with great potential. Any good coach will see that instantly. Gor Mahia has many of such players. It is beyond my understanding as to why they are never noticed in K’Ogalo.
LET THE COACH DEVELOP A PLAY PLAYING ROTATION POLICY TO GIVE EVERY PLAYER A CHANCE TO SHOW CASE THEIR POTENTIAL
Oliech is the one who knows how to deal with Naija. Remember how he gave Yobo nightmares at Kasarani. Kenya would have beatn Naija that day but foor biased officiating which gifted Naija 2 offside goals because CAF wanted to ensure they qualified for the world cup ahead of Tunisia.
@3 Joe Riaga – you are right; Oliech is good.
I would have wished Joakims Atudo to be included in this squad to replace Mulinge Ndeto once the foreign based players are recalled.
