Gor Mahia’s dissapointing pre-season continued when they went down 2-1 to Thika United in a friendly match on Sunday at City stadium..
It was Thika United who first took the lead when they awarded a penalty for a handball. Dennis Odhiambo duly converted the penalty.
Jerry Santos equalized in the 22nd minute with a superbly taken free-kick as both sides went into the breather tied.
Raymond Ochieng scored the second goal for Thika to give them a 2-1 lead which they held until the game ended
Gor Mahia fans will be right to be concerned. One week before CAF champions league match against CNaPs of Madagascar and the attack is still blunt. The defence is showing signs of being porous. It is worth noting that even Nakumatt was able to get a good result against Power Dynamos of Zambia.
Truly disappointing.

Thika United emerged 2-1 winners over Gor Mahia in a friendly match played at the City Stadium on Sunday 8 February from 1600hours.
Thika Skipper Dennis Odhiambo gave Thika the lead in the early minutes of the first half from the spot after Israel Emuge handled the ball in the box. Gor then equalized through Jerry Santos who scored with a free kick from 20 yards to see the game go for the halftime break with both teams tied at 1-1.

In the second half, Raymond Ochieng put Thika ahead once again, a lead they held onto till the final whistle was blown.
Both teams were using the friendly in preparation for the Kenya Premier League 2015 that is scheduled to kick off on Saturday 21 February with Gor facing Mathare United and Thika hosting Tusker, according to the KPL fixtures.

Result not important as of now according to our TB, but they will claim to have picked the positive as we ignore and assume the negativity. It was more of testing players durability in a real game situation. Our blunt attacking will soon haunt none other thanmthe
Truly disappointing results but the optimism in me tells me that when we start hitting the right notes we will be a team to be feared. Reminds me of some few years back when Gor couldn’t score for a long time and when Ngwa scored against Posta Rangers the whole team knelt to pray instead of celebrating the goal. After that we started scoring.
@Jakoyo, I don’t think you have ever supported this team even when we were on top of things you still had too much negativity.
For those with ‘weak’ hearts that cannot take defeat better stay off the Super Cup and CAF game and wait till the positive results start coming in.
For me I will continue supporting the team and hoping that the POSITIVE results will start coming after all I know the TB and EC and the players want the wins more than even us fans
Jakoyo, of course that comment from you was expected.Opera, where are you from? These are very harsh words to use if you truly support the team. In your opinion there is nothing positive? I remember as Dan says there was a time we went many games without scoring a single goal; Sometime Danny himself went for close to six games without a single goal. Pick positives from all situations and lets not put unnecessary pressure on these players. Give these players time,from what I saw they will do it,believe me
May it come to pass as Dan so prophetically puts it. If Jathur gi Ji says so then I believe because he watched the match while I didn’t. My question and worry is why are we always slow at taking off from the blocks?
For me al take it positively,though not happy but we pray things could change,only 3 days to Super cup n a week to CCL match,hmm lets just pray that we start wat we are good at,winning n for sure according to the squad we have,we shall be there.
The team will come good after the many new signings have gelled and adopted to Nuttall’s coaching style and philosophy.
The fanbase should relax and support the team.
The endurance was not bad. Its just a matter of time we started seeing good things. One or two defensive mistakes which of cause will be rectifide. WE now have a team. Musa or Shakava can man the last man very well. The two burundians were so impressive bearing that they jetted in yesterday. Santos is good. Wendo needs to shade abit. Olunga if gets Kagere/blackberry then i dont need to worry of cause with Walusimbi.
We only need a good ball supplier.

As long as Nuttal is still the coach my heart will always be on my hands.No excuse plz since byrett is also a new coach but managed to get a good result.Nuttal and Ouna hve never played football and thus are unaware of the pain we fans go thro.they earn money for free.
Good to know that there are fans who still believe that the team will deliver. As far as I know transfers are usually gambles which at times don’t pay off. Let’s all pray for it to pay off.
Maradona, one of the best players has not succeeded as a coach while Mourinho who I have never heard of as a player is succeeding. Even Lothar Matheus struggled at the bench but was great as a player. Even locally our best players never made good coaches . Pamzo, Motego etc are examples.
With all these things going on we risk another year without sponsor. That would mean we all have to be prepared to financially support the team but should not shy away from criticizing, albeit positively. By positively i mean in a way to build and not wreck as in demoralizing the team
Please admin, there’s some great news on goal.com that quotes the chair bwana AR as saying the KRA issue has been sorted out. I think you should follow up and bring a story on the same.
Wachana na hii dstv supercup, too close to the international match, instead get some smaller soft teams for more practice. That’s my personal opinion
Funny. When we play against Bidco, Mumbi etc the team is accused of playing non-entities and we ask for more challenging teams. Now when we get to play a top team like Sofapaka again it’s another issue.
The truth is that we have a good chunk of our players who were not registered for CAF. These players can be used for this match as well as those for CAF who need match practice.
I think with this Cup will be able to show us the preparedness of our players as well as Nuttal’s future formation. Couldn’t have come at a better time. It’s also a game to show Kenyans and FKF that football is played in the field and not in the boardrooms
