Noah Wafula, Martin Imbalambala and Gor’s Sserunkuma brace bore the balanced result for the Mashemeji derby.

Ingwe’s push

The match started on a high note for AFC Leopards featuring Wafula in the 4th minute when he came close with a shot which ended in vain.

Musa Mudde failed to connect Wafula’s cross in the 8th minute before tension rose piting Timothy Otieno whose remarkable attempt was saved by Kassaya in the 24th minute.

Opening goal

In the 30th minute, James Situma made a long shot outside the box which went passed Austine Ikenna before it was converted by Noah Wafula to put Ingwe in the lead.

What remained for Gor at this moment was to fight for an equalizer.

Equalizer

Eight minutes from the end of first half, Eric Ochieng’ went for a corner kick which found Dan Sserunkuma whose classic header made it for K’Ogalo thereby balancing goal scores in the first half.

Gor came from the tunnel more energized looking for a lead goal. In the 47th minute, Dan Sserunkuma received Mohammed’s pass and took advantage of Ingwe’s defence lapse to seal a clean brace putting K’Ogalo in the lead.

Draw

The introduction of  Jacob Keli and Humphrey Mieno in the 58th and 76th minutes respectively stirred up AFC Leopards who equalized in the 82nd minute courtesy of Martin Imbalambala.

The Williamson side made remarkable efforts thereafter in a bid to secure their initial lead but nothing positive came their way even with the introduction of Charles Bruno for injured Musa Mohammed. The match ended in a draw with both teams taking home one point.

  • very good show all round, we did not however belief we could beat AFC hence the slip.

    Go for the title.

For AFC, since they only play in the league to play Gor, let them fight to avoid relegation. They were really happy for the draw

  • Alot michayo ema tieko kuon. I saw a lot of hard but more so smart work. Well done Dan “Flava”.
Like I always say you always add/bring flavour to Mighty K’galo.
Kudos to the team that was a gusty performance overall.

It’s unfortunately that we didn’t win but the fight was good despite our meagre resources and ‘weak’ bench. The coach needs to let Timothy believe in himself. The goodness is that now we have the derby issue behind us now. Poor Jerry and his schoolboy mistakes but he is the best we have for now. Kudos to all

It wasn’t bad for a derby, it was a match could have gone either way and in football goals are scored by a slight concentration, we did sleep a bit and they got the second goal otherwise no complains.

And thanks for the fans too they were courageous despite the partisan police force.

  • Good game all through but once again, what will happen to us if we ever loose sserenkuma ? This man can not carry this team forever, some people will have to step up !

  • I’m sad that we didn’t win the derby but am happy that we did not loose to our inlaws.unfortunately Bobby Williamson my man have again failed to win against Efusi. I wud have love to win this derby just for him bcoz he loves this club that he cant even leave K’ogalo knowing very well that we’ve financial problems. If I were the EC I wud give him another three yrs contract to pay his loyalty. Dont worry my Man, u’r the best coach we have & I know u will give us the league. K’ogalo 4rever.

Kogalo for life! That was a gutsy performance. Derbies know no form, they are won on small errors…today we produced a draw but we played great football that was broadcast on the premium supersport3 and HD, watched the world over!!! Congrats boys and move on from there…..and grab more points. The title is ours! Meanwhile Efusi will go on to lose more games, Kogalo is all they play for….and u dont win titles with one or two games.

fair result bt i think our players were a little bit tense especially jagol,,calabar & kizito. Our midfielders also tend to focus on the person with the ball thats why u culd find 2 or 3 players colliding while attacking a player,if displaced the ball is played easily on a player behind them.Jagol shuld be told that the best way to waste time is to posses the ball,i think afta the 2nd goal some of our players switched off & jst wanted to waste time this affected the team in 2nd half.

Congratulations to the boys. For once I wish to express my disappointment with Jerry for giving this game away. And I do not agree with Dan Original that “he is the best we have for now” That was not the only error he made, there were several other moments when I thought he would give us out but on several occasions the defense came to our rescue.I think its time the technical bench started looking seriously at our goalkeeping options otherwise we will lose matches that we should not.Why did we take Bataro from Thika, two full seasons and he has not featured anywhere?

Otherwise one point is better than none and was happier that Tusker were also held down coast. We thank God for this.

  • that was one match we were winning were it not for that one moment of madness. my sincere opinion is that we are a shallow team, as one pointed out earlier, we have a very weak bench and the coach dont seem to know how to defend such crucial leads, that was a total let down, and we should know that league is not won by luck. for the timothy guy, he belongs to a youth team like thika united or those mid-table clubs like chemo, sony etc wqhere he would surely thrive but not at kogalo. lastly i think our priorities are not right and perhaps there is a big problem among the squad members ericks denial not withstanding. we cant be making efusi to look like a world class club while they seasoned losers.

  • Congrats boys for the exemplary performance though Jagoal was a let down to team.Jerry has been watering down hard fought efforts of his teamates conceding silly goals to the opponent. It’s high time the TB considers bringing in Bonny from Tusker as a replacement to give him competition for the position.

  • what am sure of is that Jerim fredrick onyango will never be kenya one & any coach who knows him will never trust him to be kenyas first choice goal keeper. He is only no.1 in gor bcos top keepers r not in gor.Jerim will never bench Boniface,Obungu,Duncan ochieng or Jacktone odhiambo of ulinzi stars. Infact he only benched David Juma when Juma got injured & I think he worked his magic to make David Juma loose form. There is nothing personal but Jery have been the worst goalkeeper in the premier league.

  • JAKOYO thanks for your concern, where can we get prayers like gatusso to stand for the team i thank God for bringing him back to gor at the right time otherwise we could be crying now. For Serre ,timothy otieno can fit into he shoes n we urge BW to speak to him(otieno) on how to score.

I urge the EC to start the process of getting SERRE a good N well Paying Club in france, the guy has done alot to Gormahia, it is our time to repay him
