Gor Mahia accuses FKF of unfair play

K’Ogalo deputy secretary reveals to Goal that they had written to the federation requesting their match against GFE 105 is put off but were dismissed

Gor Mahia are now accusing Football Kenya Federation (FKF) of using non-sporting reasons in denying them a postponement of Sunday’s GOtv Shield match against GFE 105 at Moi Stadium, Kisumu.

It is now emerging that K’Ogalo had last Thursday asked for a postponement quoting article 9.5 of Kenyan Football rules which stipulate that a match can be postponed if a team has one player on national team duty.

“We asked for the match to be called off because we felt it was unfair to play without more than four of our first team players. Our request was rejected on the basis that all arrangements had been made to host the fixture and so we had no choice but to honour it,” Gor Mahia Deputy Secretary General Ronald Ngala told Goal on Monday.

In rejecting their request for a postponement, FKF seemed to give non-sporting reasons for the refusal. In a letter to Gor Mahia from Kenya FA Secretary General Michael Esakwa he says:

“We wish to inform you that the federation in conjunction with our broadcast sponsors SuperSport have already lined up the match for live television coverage and all necessary logistics have already been finalised and broadcast satellites already secured.

“Therefore, the federation hereby wishes to inform you that we are not in a position to postpone the match as per your request.”

Gor Mahia were bundled out of the knock out competition after falling to minnows GFE 105 on post match penalties.

Kenya football is simply a mess.
Anyway either Gor Mahia shouldn’t have released it’s players for a non-FIFA date match or should have forfeited the competition & go to CAS if a punishment is issued.
The realistic thing though, is that Gor should not be pointing fingers but take responsibility & reflect on why their 2nd string team wasn’t good enough to beat a lower tier side.
I know the club is facing financial issues but there should be a clear transfer policy. I don’t know where Gor mahia gets these “small” names. It’s either Gor gets its players from the U19 team or sign the best players from the KPL/East Africa. The club should look at Tunisian side CS SFAXIEN, who have the best transfer policy in Africa with regards to success achieved.
What should be understood is that professionalism is devoid of sentimentality.

  • RUBBISH ! RUBBISH ! RUBBISH ! TOTAL BULLLOCKS.

WE WERE BEATEN SQUARELY BY A DETERMINED AND WELL ORGANISED TEAM AND OUR PLAYERS ARE SIMPLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO PLAY FOR THIS BELOVED CLUB……..POSTPONENT OR NOT, GOR MAHIA RESERVE TEAM SHOULD BEAT ANY TEAM IN THE LOWER DIVISIONS.

NO DISRESPECT BUT THE GOR MAHIA UNDER 19 COULD HAVE DONE BETTER ON THAT DAY …..TRUST ME !!!!!!

OK. We have heard and truly sympathize with the situation Bwana Deputy Secretary General, however let that be water under the bridge for now. We should accept the ‘unfair loss’ and move on.

What the team really needs to address is this perennial lamentation of strikers missing chances. These lamentations have been there for so long that I will not be surprised to hear the lyrics of the K’Ogalo anthem corrupted to:

K’Ogalo…more missed chances (instead of Goor Gor Mahia),
K’Ogalo…many more missed chances (instead of Gor Timbe Duto Ywakni). Someone please sharpen that attack.

@ Jakoyo i totally agree with you and this officials should tell that to the woods! A club of Gor’s caliber should have the depth and armoury to handle three tournaments at a go. Shame on YOU guys.! Did we not play against “BOTTOM FRY” which is a much more formidable TPL side in the same conditions? BW&EC know that “Mchagua Jembe sio Mkulima”.. NONSENSE..!! BURE KABISA..!! Suppose we had won; the same BW would be glorifying the same players like never before.
BW&EC please desist from being CRY BABIES WITH PROFESSIONAL EXCUSES THAT DOES NOT ADD UP EVEN TO A KINDERGARTEN KID.

  • ati deputy sec gen.? sir, you have a point yes, but unfortunately not for people but for the birds, therefore sir, you should not have revealed that to Goal but to the birds. put another way sir, kindly go reveal that to the birds, i am sure they are eagerly waiting for that revelation.

  • one more thing to the EC, kindly some issues are better dealt with by remaining silent. now, i cant believe that the EC has the audacity of telling the world that they have only managed to assemble a first five or so team of non-mortals who are even bigger than the club itself and upon whose shoulder the burden of the whole club lies. i thought a team is made up of 23 players…..i thought wrong…….the EC re-wrote the rules.
i have never questioned signings at the club since time immemorial, but now, surely what is going on? are we signings friends relatives and as our neighbours do are we just going for OUR PEOPLE?

  • Cry babies..we lost period. The team was good overall but we failed to score despite creating many chances. BW please as a professional coach how will sharpen the striking..bcos that is where the problem is at the moment. Train these guys on taking corners, heading and how to score instantly..train,train,train on this. U should know that we r now ur biggest sponsor thru 350100 so u need to win all available trophies thru any means. The defence and midfield is good pliz work on utilizing chances.Am even worried that soon we r going to b exposed by all, all the teams will b parking the bus and then counter attacking and since our coach does not have an idea on how to solve the problem we will b doomed. Its high time to score above 3 goals for all teams below us or else we wont b satisfied with ur work. Note that, Gor has the richest history in EA. I hope to see better results onwards.

    Guys,
Gor mahia should recruit quality players,To me players like DAN JUMA ,DAN ONYANGO, SIMON the CAMEROONIAN, KOPANY,OPIYO AND ERICK OCHIENG, MBUGUA ARE ALL (MODARATE)MIDDLE CLASS PLAYERS? Whom i think seriously are not suppose to play for GOR MAHIA.

Look at quality players who have influence and can change the game with good support COLLINS OKOTH, KARIUKI, KIZITO , WALUSIMBI, CALABAR, WIPER,SHAKAVA,JERRY,TIMOTHY OTIENO, OBOYA, AND BLACKBERRY.

Gor mahia should form a selected technical bench comprising of OLD PLAYERS and engage them in recruitments of quality players, e.g ALLAN THIGO, AUSTIN ODUOR,PETER DAWO,ONYANGO FUNDI,HAMISI SHAMBA, DAVID KAMOGA, DAN OGADA,PAUL OCHIENG KUNDE etc.

@isaac babu, I thought Dan Juma was better than Jerim. Now you have relegated him to middle class. In football one needs to get exposed in order to build confidence. The team that we are now calling all sorts of names, lack the exposure needed to effectively play for a team like Gor. That does not mean that they are low or middle class players. The confident is built over time. I therefore urge all of us to desist from putting undue pressure on these young players who have great future if not interrupted.
@OGANGO TRAILER says Suppose we had won; the same BW would be glorifying the same players like never before. The opposite is the same, suppose Gor had won, Ogango Trailer would be over the moon.
Need not to worry about nothing. For God and my beloved club – Kogallo

HOW COME SOME OTHER TEAMS HAVE GAME PLANS FOR GOR AND GOR DOESN’T HAVE ANY GAME PLAN FOR THESE OTHER TEAMS? EVEN TO PLAN FOR A TEAM LIKE Gfc105 IS A PROBLEM?

I’M TOLD THEY PACKED THE BUS AND COUNTERED.

  • The problem we seem to have is that even on 21 July 2014, people are still underestimating GFC105. The comments here clearly shows that both the team and the supporters won this game even before kick off. We only went there to collect the 3 points and not to play or support our team. The same problem that befell African teams in the 2010 FIFA world cup!!

I would like to comment on the Gor mahia green army supprt group. The people leading the choir must compose songs in praise of the team not abusive songs, They should borrow a leaf from the late Apimgo nyawawa.I wonder if those are trully gor fans. Talking nonesence in the rusia stands is not supportiimg kogalo. Compose songsin suport of the club not abusive songs.

@Pmawego R U trying 2 imply that GOR MAHIA being the defending champion of TPL 2013 and current leaders of TPL 2014 and number one contender 4 the same competition is an “obvious” punching bag to the likes of MUMBI united, Nakumatt and now GFC 105 ?

What we are saying is simple, straight forward and clear..? BW MUST Wake Up or else..!!!
We shall be running to an untimely end and why should I be worried about BW exit anyway. It is all about terms of engagement. He either SHAPE UP or be SHIPPED OUT .!!

Only Pmawego has said something sensible on this matter. Guys stop emotions every team plays to win, consider when they scored their goal 90th minute? A flop is like what happened to Brazil five goals in thirty minutes.Does the coach become tactless for losing just one match? The EC are merely saying what they did unfortunately they were denied by FKF what else could they do? In any case we are merely yap yapping having forgotten that we have no money to buy those good players you are talking about, they cost money.

  • @Ogango, I still maintain that because Gor Mahia is the defending champions and current leaders of TPL 2014, most people, with you particularly won the game before kick off. You have clearly shown it in your statement. The problem you have is underrating others. It is the old school thinking. An analysis of matches (World Cup, CAN, UEFA Champions League etc) for the last few years should have informed you that football is changing drastically. There are no small teams any-more in football.
