Gor Mahia add three players and may sign Kevin Omondi
Gor Mahia have agreed to terms with attacker Samuel Onyango from Ulinzi , defender Wesley Onguso from Sofapaka and Western Stima center half Maurice Ojwang . This according to a report on Citizen sports.
The same report also states that Jean Baptiste Mugiraneza has been sold off to 13-time Rwandan champions Armée Patriotique Rwandaise (APR).
Mugiraneza, popularly known as Migi, was signed as a replacement for Khalid Aucho but was unable to cement a first team place. He got no playing time under Ze Maria who often played him out of position. Under Frank Nuttall, he played well in spots.
Samwel Onyango is an attacker who often operates on the wings. He has been one of the revelations of the 2017 league and earned a place in the national team.

Other reports suggest that coach Dylan Kerr is interested in bringing back Kevin Omondi “Ade”.
“I’m interested in having Kevin as part of my squad because he is greatly talented. He trained with us for two weeks and I know he is a player who stands a good chance of being signed at Gor. He has a chance to prove how good he is,” Kerr said in an online interview with the Standard.
The sticking point happens to be the relationship between Musa Mohamed and Kevin Omondi which was very sour at one point following revelations that Ade lost his wife to Musa.
But Ade has come out to clarify that he has no issues with Musa.
“There is nothing wrong between me and Musa Mohamed. We are friends and I have no issue concerning anything. I also don’t think he has any issue with me because we have moved on.” he said to the Standard.
His manager, Charles Omondi Korea also stated that Ade is keen to rejoin Kogalo.
“Kevin Omondi is psyched up to re-join Gor anytime. He trained with them for two weeks and the coach is already impressed, so we’re simply waiting for talks with the club’s administration.” he told the Standard
If Omondi is in the right frame of mind, he could be a useful addition to Kogalo where he will be motivated to revive his flagging career which apparently was derailed due to off the field problems.
The manner in which his contract was terminated in South Africa also would have had a negative psychological impact on him thus affecting his play on the field. Dylan Kerr could be the man to put him back in the right frame of mind. His talents have never been in doubt. The problem has always been off the field issues including indiscipline.

Ade Omondi was one of my favorites and form is temporary but class and skill permanent,he can still be a potent option in attack for us
@jakom for once let me disagree with you…Ojwang Maurice is one of the best defenders in Kenya right now. Reads the game well, composed on the ball and is never scared to start play from the back. What we need to do is to release both Joash and Joachim. One other player we may need to look at is Bernard Ondiek.
Benard Ochieng turned us down in June citing playtime when Vihiga had already accepted transfer cheque and drafted release letter sasa hakuamini anaweza rival Shakava for starting role,huyo ni player confident kweli owadwa.Also maurice i haven’t followed him much but fail to see how different from Joash or Joachim he can be thura,tell me he’s talent attributes
I believe Onguso has it in him to be a success at Kogalo. His industry and commitment is reminiscent to that of Wellington. We have to be honest and release Joash, he doesnt have the grit and the talent to wear the green and white of Kogalo. We should pursue Charles Momanyi of H/Boys. He is talented and has the all the attributes of a quality player. As for Ade and Onyango Samuel, I believe they can help improve our options in the attack. Both are talented though Ade has to work on this attitude and discipline on and off the field.
Can Ade bench any striker in Gor? These new players will add nothing to kogalo,the current squad is much better.

Le Pastre enlighten ne abit by drawing a brief comparison on the following 3 centre halfs…Maurice Ojwang of Western Stima Benard Ochieng Of Vihiga United and Charles Momanyi of Kakamega Homeboys…How different are they from Joash who was touted the best and Joachim Oluoch once billed as Kenya’s fast rising young defender

Joachim Oluoch, (already at Gor Mahia) C. Momanyi – KK H/Boys Maurice Ojwang – W/Stima and Bernard Ochieng- Vihiga Utd are all very good young defenders. Charlie Momanyi has already accumulated two KPL solid seasons under his belt at KK H/Boys. Bernard Ochieng has carried Vihiga Utd into the KPL (this is massive) considering that playing in the Nationwide is harder than in the KPL. Maurice Ojwang was playing in a Western Stima team that had lost its soul after massive departures at the end of 2016 season hence there was no stability. As compared to Joash, I wouldn’t shy away from admitting that all the four have better footballing abilities and brains than Joash. The only attribute that has kept Joash in the game is that of a hard man. His reading of the game and tackling is suspect. He is a classic example of a calamity waiting to happen. To cap it all, the boys named above are all below 24 years while I believe Joash is nearing his thirties or is already there. Any of the boys above + Joachim will do just fine as cover for us now as Musa and Shakava are not going anywhere anytime soon. Welcome back Ade and I believe you will work hard for the shirt.
Good analysis now decide whom between Maurice Ojwang and Charles Momanyi will thrive best in the green and white jersey.Rem the latter has earned a call up already to the Cecafa National team but who among the two is more versatile and possesses better ball handling techniques?
Maurice Ojwang has also made the provisional H. Stars squad twice or thrice and has more PL experience than Momanyi. But not to take away anything from Momanyi who is also quite solid. Joash has been well handled by Le Pastre while my take on Joachim is that just review the Ulinzi game in Kisumu. He got in at 2-0 and leaked like a sieve. Final result 2-2 though not all the goals were his individual mistakes. Overall his marking and positioning were quite pedestrian. One game not enough to judge but am already biased!!!
Is central defence truly the problem ……………Joachim Oluoch and Joash Onyango (already at Gor Mahia) then you add maybe … Maurice Ojwang and onguso, why havent we played joash and joachim in the first place and why did we buy them ? remember even wendo , teddy osok and wellington ochieng can also be deployed in central defence.
Secondly, i have always said any player who has clocked 10 years in KPL league must be well in their mid 30s. So am not excited about kevin ade as this will turn out to be another jerry santos.
