Gor Mahia admit to being under pressure.

Goal drought: Tuyisenge

After another dissapointing weekend in which Tusker increased their lead over Gor Mahia, skipper Musa Mohamed has admitted that the team is under pressure to right the ship.

“Yes, there is pressure on us because we are not performing as well as we should. I think it is high time we get our groove back and I am optimistic we will work hard and start getting results soon. All is not lost because we still have nine matches to play,” Gor skipper Musa Mohammed said after the disappointing draw. said Musa to Capital FM

Things appear to have fallen off the cliff for a side that at one point topped the league standings before the FKF deducted three points. At the time Gor Mahia were on a tear and looked set to pit some distance between themselves and Tusker.

So what has changed since then?

For one thing Jacque Tuyisenge has been unable to find the net since he was paired up with compatriot Meddie Kagere. Ugandan midfield ace Geoffrey Walusimbi has been injured and is only recovering while another Ugandan Khalid Aucho left. It is the latter’s departure that is thought to have had the most impact by some experts.

“Aucho was a good player, who controlled the midfield well; he could hold up play and seamlessly pass the ball around. But now he is gone and definitely that would have worked negatively for the team. It is a transition period and before the team gets a replacement, they will struggle,” said Fred Ambani, a former Harambee Stars striker to goal.com

Fans who are starting to lose patience with the Brazilian tactician have been urged to be patient.

“The fans should understand this and support the team. They have to accept the team lost a good player and it is still restructuring.” continued Ambani.

Since the second leg started, Gor Mahia have won two and drawn four. The win against Thika United happened amidst a poor second half. The win against City Stars required a goal that came six minutes into injury time.  Gor Mahia have also drawn against Kakamega Homeboyz, Ushuru FC, Sony Sugar and Bandari, as well as a lacklusture 2-0 win over Nairobi Stima in the GoTV shield.

Coach Ze Maria is under pressure to find a formula that would put Gor Mahia back on track to retain the title.

Lets call aspade aspade.as much as its tiki taka and subs are irrelevant, will not achieve anything unless coach understands his players.cptn said that once goals are not coming they resort to long balls to look for gaol, shorts on target Bandari 3,Sony 3, City stars 5, Ushuru 3 ,Homeboz 4, Thika 5. none was asave worth noting.WHERE AWE HEADING ,IF ONE STRIKER IS NOT SCORING TRY OTHERS WHY HAVE AKINA KELI,AGWANDA ON PAYROLL.

Gor Mahia is in crisis and this is the moment when all key stakeholders must work together for a common purpose. EC, technical bench members and all branches must agree to work together as a team for turnaround performance to be achieved. Gor Mahia has deep pocket sponsors but results are wanting. Fans and branches have a solution which is team work but not selfishcompeting personal interests. We all stakeholders must speak the same language and celebrate together as one global team of Gor Mahia.

As long as there is no unity of purpose between all stakeholders including EC, technical bench members and branches, we should not expect to attain maximum 3 points but the team will continue accumulating 1 point till the end of the season. EC and technical bench need to appreciate the roles the branches have played and work together with the branches.

In the absence of this teamwork, I can assure bloggers and fans that we will continue to create more open chances but we will not win. We need all inclusive in terms of the roles played by all key stakeholders to turnaround draws into victories.

  • @Dan.O asserts in his previous post “that one win takes a club up 3 places”. Brewkenge and our beloved Ko’galo have played 21 games each with Brewkenge no.1 having 40points and GMFC no.2 with 36points. Ulinzi is 3rd with 32points. A win next for Ko’galo & a loss for Tusker still means that Tusker will still lead by 1 point and we still have to face them, Mathare, Ulinzi. Things are not easy we have to win nearly all the remaining matches. Now Captain Musa, with all due respect, seems to be taking lessons from D.O tells us when they can’t score from tiki taka they resort to “yuora nena” but still don’t score. So how has either tactic helped? The buck stops with Ze Maria and he’s had his transfer season. He’s gentleman but so was Bob Williamson. Why is the Captain doing work of the TB explaining tactics? WAPI COACH & HIS ASSISTANT?

Lets just be patient, Gor will take this year’s league. We still have 9 games to go. Lets not put much pressure on players.

  • Capital G,

I still believe and have respect that we will perform. my problem with EC is the games that are brought in Kisumu. Though a kisumu resident i would not advice for any match to be played at MSK because of many reasons. Im seeing Gor Mahia waking up from a sleep this week. May God bless Mighty kogalo

  • I miss Nuttal. I miss Aucho and I miss our top spot on the log. Luckily, Tusker is there to remind us that we are way below the sea level. Jothurwa, am getting rumours that a section of fans harassed and banged the Kogallo bus in Kisumu last weekend to air their frustrations at the alien result. How true are the allegations?

  • The Indian occupying the coach’ s slot at gormahia is clueless . Ze Maria is not good enough even with the current situation Nutal would still sneak in a goal or two and open up the game .bring in Agwanda ,his throw in are better than corners

The place of Abondo was never filled to date. This has caused the team, he would score from free kick to get us points which missing in the team. Okoth solid rock is in dispute with coach, Aucho is gone, George B. Who can play with either J or K is not appreciated. You will never win unless senior players are respected and given the right role to play

  • I saw replay of Sunday game and I can now conclusively call it bad luck or not being clinical at goal.Jausenge should check his headers.Fans should know all teams park the bus on us and our mid season signings are not the remedy;nilitamani sana Ndirangu softie. But our level of football is way above SPL but only if our strikers are clinical.I love Gor in Kisumu.

  • I said it here and i will repeat. There is a thin line between love and hate among the Gor mahia fans. The tiki tiki whatever without goals to them is an insult. I often tend to think that Gor mahia facebook page is a representative sample of gor mahia supporters, hapo hawana sijui ungwana mara nini . Hata matusi iko hapo Some of us here need to visit that page and sample some of their reactions. The fans are becoming impatient. The earlier we accept that the better. Our next opponent is Posta Rangers. Swali ni je?? kama the likes of KK , Sony , Thik…….. name them are our worthy opponents, Sembuse Ziko. We cannot continue crying over Aucho. Kama ni Kukanyagana, weke wenye Nguvu watu wakanyagane. May be the gods of FN have conspired against us. ” Do not bite the hands that once fed you”

Fellow comrade. The team played so well on sunday but luck was not on our side. A piece of advice to our coach, He should coach the team and provide good results not listenning to what funs are saying. It is funny, when funs say tuisenge and kagere should not play together the coach should do what is best according to his partern of play.Ze maria you are the coach and we are the fund
S play your role. I dissagree with the fielding of nondi, kwani when will Odulla play?
