Gor Mahia AGM on Nov 27
(Information Courtesy of supersport.com)
Gor Mahia Football Club will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday November 27th at Nairobi City Stadium.
The meeting according to the club’s deputy secretary Ronald Ngala will kick off at 10am. The exercise will be held one month earlier than the scheduled date.
According to Ngala, this has been necessitated by the fact that club will need enough time to prepare for the CAF Confederations Cup tournament which will kick off at the end of January 2012.
Top of the agenda will be the chairman and treasurer’s report, elections and any other business.
Despite winning the FKL Cup, the club has been engulfed with internal fighting with a section of the club accusing the club chairman Ambrose Rachier and head coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno of abandoning the club.
Rachier has been accused of shielding Otieno from blame with the chairman has reiterated that Zico still remains the team’s coach.
First of all – I hope the members will handle themselves with humility and respect for divergent views. NO HOOLIGANISM DURING THE MEETING, WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF THAT IN PREVIOUS MEETINGS.
Secondly – Members have to remember that GOR is bigger that any one person, or group of people. WE ALL WANT THE BEST FOR THE CLUB …. LET’S KEEP THAT IN MIND WHILE DELIBERATING.
Thirdly – THE BEST IS YET TO COME FOR GOR …. I see a bright future, but we can only get there if we WORK TOGETHER !!
HAVE A NICE MEETING, AND I HOPE THE NEWS THAT WE WILL GET ON MONDAY 28TH NOVEMBER WILL REPORT THAT THE MEETING DID NOT ERUPT IN ACCRIMONY.
GOR MAHIA FOR EVER !!!

@Kowino, thanks for this confidence you have noted. I feel humbled and will consider this when at the right time. Guys let us elect people that will take the team to another level particularly those with the interest of the club at heart but not those with personal interests like most of the current office bearers. I long for office that will turn the club into professional outfit in all aspects such as:-
1. Commerciase sale of club merchadise with logos, water marks and security features that can not be duplicated by fraudsters that have been fleacing the club
2. We want innovative officials with fresh ideas such as coming up with production of different merchadise like popular current replica affordable jerseys, unexplored caps, cups, track suits, towels, pens, jackets, watches, mobile phone covers, stickers, bags, pencils porches for school going kids, scarves, tyre or spare wheel cover, etc
3. Set up secretariat of the club with salaried CEO, finance & commercial director, marketing manager, fund raising and sponsorship director, administration manager, procurement manager, football development manager, scouts women and youth football officer etc. However we can start with five fulltime official with a purpose of expanding the secretariat further to 18 full time staffs.
4. Turn club to a professional outfit and company
5. Come up with a secured club seasonal tickets at discounted rates
6. Come up with a plan to acquire land and build a club stadia, training ground, club house and club apartments for players
7. Come up with sound fundraising activities from members ranging from monthly contributions from kshs.100, 200, 400, 500, 1000, 2000, 5000 etc to target 40000 fans throught the country
8. Come up with governance structure and transprency blue point to build confidence of fans and other stakeholders
9. Develop training programme for fans to avoid incidences of hooliganisms
10. Empower branches to co-ordinate club activities
11. Have club open days with fans to encourage dialogues and understanding of clubs on either weekly, fortnightly and monthly basis
12. Develop massive fund raising activities such as exploring avenues of fundraising from the public under capital markets authority rules through IPO or private placement
13. Appoint external auditor
14. Establish board of directors during the transition period that will see club’s long term strategy, vision and mission statement being developed with clubs core values and strategic intent
Please fans what we need to be done. We must ensure that the incoming office pursue these initiatives judiciously.

MY TAKE ON THE COMING K’OGALO POLLS
I wish on the onset to laud the decision of EC to move forward the elections in order to allow our beloved K’ogalo to prepare well for the international asssignment.
What is the purpose of this election? To elect men and women of integrity who shall transfo rm the club to be the most successful club in East Afriaca region.
But one challenge that have continued to confront the club administrators, is of course crowd trouble. Over the years, we have witnessed K’ogalo crowds running amok even from the slightest provocation. This has therefore impacted negatively on the club both fiancially and morally. We can no longer tolerate this behaviour.
The other issue is corruption. Corruption has permeated all sectors of the society including football. The world football governing body, FIFA is yet to wipe put the vice in their ranks. it is the reason why K’ogalo is a shell even after 40 plus years of it’s existence. Why? The leaders are never held accountable .
Finally as we troop the city stadium, I once again appeal for a peaceful vote. Let us behave responsibily, vote peace and elect wisely. The destiny of this club we so love and cherish lies in our hands. Seize the moment. I wish all the candidates the best of success.
How do we register as members in order to participate as voters in the AGM? Someone please help ASAP.can we also be notified in advance of the people who are vying for the various positions in advance so that we can vet them?I believe this is the chance we have to elect officials who can transform our beloved club to the next level.
Mwakio i like ur agenda, all the best
@5 am seriuos n am in consultation with other branches n come 27th ua name shall be there, coz we need brain more than anything else currently we are paying training gruond while we hve land,we hve resouces but we cant account 4r.MR.MWAKIO THIS IS MY HUMBLE REQUEST TO U.jst axcept my proposol coz iknow ur capeble n ihve prints of some of ua comments n thoz r what we are lucking in the club.the bell has jst runged n the race has jst started.
MWAKIO FOR CHAIRMAN.YOU HAVE MY VOTE
MWAKIO FOR CHAIRMAN? A BIG NO
Wonderful people of K’Ogalo.
When it comes to deteming the destiny of this great club, it calls serious scrutiny of the candidates offering themselves for election.
I want to put in blank and white i have no personal issue with comrade Mwakio. Infact I have never met him but i want frankly admit that i have also greatly benefitted from his insightful analyses of our matches as well other pertinent matters concerning our club. While sometimes i don’t agree with his opinions, nonetheless he has remained a valuable patner on this blog.
I strongly reject your candidature for various reasons;
1. You are somebody’s project.
2. You are not tested & tried
3. We are not aware of your credentials
On these few reasons, i reject your candidature for now.
Your arguments elsewhere on this blog are good but outrightly convincing. We have also aticulated these issues you are now canvassing. Comrade Mwakio, I am not heartbreaking you. The members of this club has the final say. Am only a scion from the big family.
3.
i think this Mwakio has got it if he executes his ideas hoping that he will not use the podium to enter politics as we have seen with barrister Rachier who started well but when he got the publicity by being the kogalo president changed the rest is history.
lets support Mwakio and see what he does in three years maybe he could be the bridge to real success for the big team.
Pareyio,
I respect your views but i dont agree with the standards you are purpoting to set its even in bad faith to purport that mwakio is somebody’s project while its in public knowledge that you are a diehard supporter of the current office.Lets encourage asd many candidates as possible we willl vet them accordingly before election.
MINE WAS APROPOSAL 4R MR.MWAKIO TO VIE FOR APOST OF UPCOUNTRY-VICECHAIRMANSHIP CURRENTLY OCCUPIED BY BOSCO RINGO COZ 4 ONE 2BE CHAIRMAN HE HAS 2 BE BASED IN NAIROBI LETS NOT BLOW THINGS OUT-OFF PROPOTION.@11 ALL YOUR 3POINTS HVE NEVER APPLIED IN GM LEADERSHIP OFF THE CURRENT OFFICE BEARERS ONLY NGALA HAS THOZ CREDENTIALS MORE INTRESTINGLY FORMER CHAIRMAN SAM AHOLO CAME FROM NOWHERE N HE LEFT ARECORD NONE OF THE TEAM IN THE LEAGUE BEAT GM AT CITY STADIUM.SECONDLY IDONT KNOW HIM N HE DOESNT KNOW ME SO HE IS NOBODYS PROJECT NOBODY CHOSES HIMSELF 2 BE ALEADER BUT PPLE SEES LEADERSHIP IN HIM OR HER N THATS WHAT WE HVE DISCOVERED FROM mr.mwakio.
Guys we have so many capable of leading GM in various capacities to great heights. Some of them even contribute on this blog. The issue is that the commotion we always witness during our AGMs scares away the faint-hearted ones who can offer quality leadership. We need to promise ourselves that we will have a peacefull meeting even if the results don’t go our way. Unfortunately at times only the ‘bravest’ get elected even when they have no plan for the club. Our peacefull and succesfull AGM will go a long way to determine our Africa Cup campaign next year. It will also determine if we can get other extra sponsors, new quality players and the goodwill of both new and old fans. So let people come up (including Mwakio), present their manifestos and the people will decide. The first plan to professionalise the club will be to have as much diversity as possible in the new officials. Let’s strive to have the club officials to represent the face of Kenya just like the fan base is.
So who are the candidates?
@pareyio ole lelerue, I am not interested in being the Chairman of the club and I will never be anyone’s project. My love for the club cannot be watered down by such comments. Fans are proposing but I have not offered myself for any position in the club.
@pareyio ole lelerue, please note that I will offer myself at the right time but not for the position of the chairman or secretary general.
@pareyio ole lelerue, when it comes to qualifications, experience and family life, I think I’m fit and proper for any appointment anywhere. In this regard, on academic excellence I’m a BCom – Finance major graduate (University of Nairobi), MBA (University of Manchester), Professional qualification: I hold CPAK, Professional Experience: CEO of a multinational corporation. Family Life: Happily married with two boys and a girl.
@Pareyio ole lelerue…you are out of order and you need to apologise to Mwakio.
Mwakio is a genuine Gor fan who wishes the club the best in whatever capacity.
Let peace prevail on 27th November 2011 regardless of the outcome remember people will be paid to provoke the ever peaceful Green army. Remember what happened in Kondele last week should not be witnessed on 27th otherwise i hate being associated with hooligans. When violence erupt it will be a luo affairs and people will have something to talk about just like in todays newspaper they have turned it to appear politically instigated. Well i was in Kisumu on Friday upto very late at night and i was not aware of the on going at Kondele must i be victimised just because of few “Luos” reason i share my mother tongue with them. I hate violence and if we can avoid it on 27th please lets try and sober up. It pains…………….!!!!!!!!!!!
@Ochigah, well said. Violence and hooliganism is what messes the name of our great club. The day our fans will avoid violence at the smallest hint of provocation the sky will be the limit for us. Otherwise I hope we have a smooth AGM and the likes of Mwakio should be highly encouraged to offer their expertise. Unfortunate statements from @Pareiyo should not put him off. I’m sure @Pareiyo didn’t mean to offend but stated that he didn’t know much about him. maybe a meeting between the two and the rest should help as an ice breaker. The moment we remove the ‘luo’ stigma from the team the better. After all our players mirror the face of Kenya then why not our officials. And let’s not forget the gender balance.
@Pareyio ole lelerue Your basis of watering down people’s wishes are not in good faith of the movement/Club,you are in denial of the vast epertise that the fans offer….If we unmask ourself and what we do you’ll be suprised…..@Mwakio you didnt deserve those comments and it is unfortunate, and definately you didnt have to explain your background..All we needed was a pool of I deas that can propel us to great Heights as Gor Mahia Club….
HEY THERE ALL.
AM PROPOSING A NEW TECHNICAL BENCH HEADED BY BOB OYUGI. CAN WE DISCUSS THIS?
Bloggers why are we blowing @Pareyio ole lelerue comments out of propotion. This gentleman has simply expressed his opinion. I dont read any insults at all. Personally I would ask the same questions for a candidate I have little or no knowledge a about. Comrade Mwakio please go ahead and declare your candidature but also help the voters know who you are and what you stand for. As a leader you should be prepared to be called anything including “fisi” by some ungratefull characters. May the best candidate win. For God and my club Kogallo.
We should bring back Siang’a in some position…i propose Technical Director and Chief scout for new talent to strengthen the team…We can live with the Cameroonian for now….i fear local coaches make there decisions based on nepotism and other non-soccer criteria…..hope ZD will not be in the new bench.
Mwakio, why not vie for top office? Rachier in my opinion is out of touch with the club and fans’ needs. I don’t know u personally but from ur credentials u r the kind of person we need. Other than Rachier i don’t know of any other aspirant
@ 23 Albert Kosero (Sofaset Branch – Kampala) Yes we are the “UNGRATEFUL CHARACTERS” and we are not regretting in name-calling ZD and AR “FISI” based on their actions and performance as office bearers in GM.
Their mis-calculated move of neglecting there JOB AT HAND IN GM , but still clinging on the same position while chasing the elusive national platform at the expense of GM.
MWAKIO go a head and declare your candidature so that we can send all the “FISI” packing. Do not be intimidated by comments of one kisore. We looking beyond this LUOISM STIGMA like@ Dan has suggested.
GOR MAHIA FRATERNITY ARE PEACE LOVING AND LAW ABIDING FANS. Its the lack leadership with clear policy and structures due to arrogance of the officials and intentional provocation that drives supporters to chaos and hooliganism.
Apart from Mwakio and Rachier for chairmanship we also have followers like Kidero, though the association of Mumias SC and Ingwe might complicate his candidature. For the coaching staff the Awono can do for now though the challege next year might require an experienced local coach to assist him. Nam of Agro, Agido, Akhwana and even Odhiambo of City Stars can assist. Not sure where to place ZD. Maybe an external coaching course might help him to rediscover his touch. On players we need to beef our team with the likes of Rama of Congo, Ssermuka of City , Vincent Ochieng of Chemelil amongst others. Some tall tough defenders like Pascal would also do. Otherwise the task next year will be tough and the team might not even break for Xmas since the games start in early Feb or late Jan.
mwakio wht r ua full names n r u on fb? thanks bro
Bro mwakio, you need not give your background, it was long said kibaya chajitembeza, kizuri chajiuza..bro kosero, in a forum like this i know not of any worse abuse than being called a ‘project’ if you are comfortable with others droping such horendeos abuse at others then i assure you of my sympathy. Who has given this lelerue guy the mandate of name calling and dismising others? Let him be informed at GM we give complete democracy and patience..its never abused..the current office will not get back to work even if only them turn up on election day. Anyone out there come and vie-provide and explain your manifesto to members it doesn’t matter lelerue knows you or not..we can discern thieves, crooks, conmen etc
Brothers, let’s forgive @lelerue. Let’s give all a chance to be heard. From all his contributions since I joined this blog I have never read him getting personal. Could be his zeal to see GM succeed. After all some have said worse things on this blog about others and we forgave them. @Kosero and me personally have been called all names including being bootlickers for people we have even never personally met. Let’s encourage the rest and tolerate divergent views. Otherwise we will not be different from those who stoned Tuju’s convoy , why?, nobody can tell. Personally if Mwakio came up with a captivating and practical manifesto I would be the first to support him. We are tired of GM being run the same way it was in the 70s, 80s and 90s. The moment we stop electing people because they have deep pockets the more the team will prosper since we will strive to market the team to more potential sponsors
MY VERY SINCERE APOLOGY COMRADE MWAKIO
My very sincere apology Comrade Mwakio. My comments are well intentioned and only meant to excite lively debate on the issue.
I have not even at any moment doubted your love and loyalty to the club, your credentials not withstanding. This great club care less about your address.
On 27th November, we shall have an opportunity to hear both the chair and treasure make a state of the club presentations. Based on these, members have an opportunity to re-elect them or ‘ kick ’em out’ to use an analogy by a section of our fans. if they said comrade Mwakio, good riddance!
Let me reiterate that I am not ready to abandon my ideals which I so much cherish. These ideals includes the respect of the rule law, good governance and unity of purpose. I joined this great club by choice not by default. Like a cog in a wheel, my little contribution will go along way to shape the opinions of this club positvely.
I repeat. You will not have my vote comrade Mwakio.
Mwakio is going nowhere period. It reminds me of masaa ya Ngilu of 1997 general elections. Too much hype, very little on the ground. Bloggers are just but a very small fraction of Kogallo family therefore bro Mwakio dont be cheated. If you are serious, look beyond advicers like Ogango Trailer. Its very unfortunate that you are not going to make it but trust me GM is going to end up with some very hopeless Chairman come 27th November. We are talking about very nice things like vetting. I wonder whether that exists in GM. The hatred for AR will drive some of us to even vote for a dog and thats where we are headed. If a visionary leader like Leslie Okudo could be fought by the ungrateful characters the way they did, I dont think there is a chairman who will survive in GM. Once again Mwakio, all the best but sorry you are going NOWHERE! For God and my club Kogallo
@ 32 Kosero…you have dissapointed me brother. Comrade Mwakio has not announced his candidature hence it’s not fair to use the words you have used against him. I’ve all along believed you are tolerant, loving and accomodative…so i’ve been wrong. I see you are bitter and seem to have lots of hatred na madharau.
Please search your soul and kick out the devil who has unfortunately visited you the way he visited pareyio ole lelerue…am glad that Comrade Pareyio has repented…and we have forgiven him in Kogalo’s spirit. Kosero my brother, let’s use the forum to seek ways of improving the team and having proper leaders rather than abusing and unleashing harsh words against each other. Please be a role model that you are supposed to be as a leader…i honestly believe you are a reasonable person so please dont let me down…kindly dont take my words in a bad way. Cheers!
@pareyio ole lelerue, please note that I have not declared my candidature yet. Why do you allude that you will not vote for me? Note that all fans have a right to air their opinions on what we fans expect from the new office.
Just like the current office bearer that have only won FKL cups, we fans have ambition to win KPL log, CAF Champion league and CAF Cup. I know can conquer Africa with proper planning, excellent technical bench, and transprency in handling club matters but not under the way the club is being managed. Two years down the line, we have never seen a copy of audited financial statement.
@pareyio ole lelerue, Gor Mahia is a public club with members drawn from all corners of the country and region. We need to know our gate collections, proceeds from sales of club replica merchadises, monies from the sponsors and wellwishers are being expended. We want to see transparency and accountability at all levels. At this moment in time, @pareyio ole lelerue, am not interested in your vote but my interest in Gor Mahia officials meeting the expectations of all fans and other stakeholders. Stop these hollow and shallow arguments for the shake of the club.
@Mwakio…your views are spot on and very reasonable and for that am proud to be associated with your sentiments.
@Pareyio..it appears to me that given a chance you’ll throw stones in the AGM so please change your ways, be humble and reasonable for the sake of the club and society.
@pareyio ole lelerue and Mwalimu Kosero, I repeat again that I have declared my candidature yet. The club can not be run from Kampala. Please tell us what you expect from the new office but not diverting the healthy but not hollow arguments over my candidature any your votes.
@pareyio ole lelerue and Mwalimu Kosero, I repeat again that I have declared my candidature for any position yet. The club cannot be run from Kampala. Please tell us what you expect from the new office but not diverting the healthy discussions but not posting hollow and shallow arguments over my candidature.
I am sure that if am to stand for the position with either pareyio ole lelerue or Mwalimu Kosero, I will floored you the same way our outgoing chairman was floored by Sam Nyamweya. We are in the election mood and tell all fans here what your expectations are from the new office but not to dwell on Mwakio’s candidature.
@Pundit, I have not abused anybody on this forum and I will be the last one to do that. I am simply airing my views on would-be candidate Mwakio’s chances. I still insist that he stands no chance at all were he to contest. @Mwakio there is no differnce between where you are at the coast and where I am in Kampala not unless you are trying to say only those in Nairobi are the ones who should comment on Gor issues. Otherwise I beg to disagree with you on that. I do admit that in a contest between you and me, you will win, but not GM’s chairmanship. For God and my club Kogallo
@Albert Kosero (Sofaset Branch – Kampala), I work and ilve in Nairobi. Voi is my home town where I was born. My full names are David Mwishigada Mwakio. I was in Kampala and engaged many Gor Mahia fans but these fans had no idea about Sofaset Branch….where are you located, what is your registration number and how many fans have you recruited?
@Mwakio, please quote for me one of the fans you met that you are talking about. I would love to know them. We are very few dedicated GM followers here in Kampala. We have our own venue for watching GM matches whether Arsenal or Man U are playing the channel of choice must be Supersport9. If you care to know the name of the venue then it is called Tickles which we have nicknamed “tok Komwanda”. When GM came to Kampala for friendly matches in October 2009 against Express and SC Villa, thats where we hosted them for dinner. We were very few kampala fans both at the staduim and Tickles. Now tell me where this fans you are claiming to have met reside here in Kampala and where they were when GM visited? Not every one who claims to be a Gor fans is true fan. I meet so many Kenyans, Luo’s in particular here and the moment you engauge them in Gor issues, they will start talking of Arsenal instead. They dont even know who plays for Gor, position on the league etc. All they know is Gor was once a great team. They talk English preimer league than Kogallo. For God and my club Kogallo
I think we should just sober up whether Mwakio is vying for any post in Gor should be left to delegates to decide.GOR MAHIA is a big club whom anybody with right ideas which will see the club raise from petty politics to a proffession outfit can vie.Mwakio has a right so as to me.The era of who is who is over. we need ideology and the progress of the club.I welcome anybody with good ideas it doesnt matter from which ethnic tribe, race to vie for any post in forthcoming election. It will be wise if we may get blue print for any candidate so as we may decide.we just sober up because we have great ideas.
@32 Pundit thank you for submitting and offering my comrade @Albert Kosero (Sofaset Branch – Kampala) a humble and honest piece of advice, although i doubt if he will be able to digest anything out of it.
@ Kisore MWAKIO is an able, mature and honest fan of KO’GALO and he does not need to consult me as his P.A in order to contest for any position. SO YOUR STATEMENT THAT HE SHOULD LOOK BEYOND @ OGANGO TRAILER IS NOT ONLY OUT OF ORDER BUT CHILDISH AND IN BAD TASTE.
By the way @ Kisore was ZD consulting you when he used to mess up with the playing unit since you were his die-hard sycophant?
@ 31 pareyio ole lelerue thank you for the timely apology and withdrawal of your initial statement against MWAKIO;indeed you are a true gentleman.
@ MWAKIO please do not engage yourself into unwarranted argument with my comrade@ Kisore. Remember the wise saying”IF YOU ARGUE WITH A..!!!!!..PEOPLE MIGHT NOT NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE”.
And as matter of records @ Kisore you once alluded that you had a chat with “PPO” in kampala during the “MIGINGO DERBY”. I did inquire from MASIKA if he did had formal or informal meeting with our number fan from “SOFASET BRANCH; but to my amusement the lad denied.
I hereby humbly and politely request you to stop engaging bloggers with arguments that lacks taste and substance. OVER TO YOU @ Kisore.
Guys i believe there is a very important event in GM’s calendar coming up on 27th November.
If i may have to say, then the following should be more important as at today.
1. What is needed to take GM forward?
2.What caliber of man power is required to articulate these objectives.
3.Who is on offer? and does it matter whoever is on offer?
4.What yardstick is should be used for determining who should occupy this office?
5. Could there be any loop holes regarding the call of the AGM which may be used by the current office to trash the event as being unconstitutional after being hounded out?
6.What structures should be put in place to correct the loop holes existing in the current Constitution that have given leeway to corrupt individual a field day for their malpractices.Ans can these weaknesses be corrected ASAP.
@43 OGANGO TRAILER..thank you for the good analogy…i believe Gor will be made great by like minded people..atleast now like minded bloggers are coming up…the not so like minded will remain behind with ZD.
@ALL, i believe we are in agreement on that we need credible leaders able to propel Kogalo to the next levels and not mediocrity. My criteria is: a)educational & family background, b) past records either in soccer or otherwise, c)capabilty statement (what the office bearer to be intends to do for the club & the possibilities of realizing such within the time frame d)other ambitions in life e)the interest they want to serve plus many more should be crically analysed before drawing unrealistic conclusions at this stage 2 weeks to AGM.
The Kogalo Diehard
@OGANGO TRAILER, no one is disputing the fact that Mwakio is able. Indeed he is very capable and can beat Kosero in any contest but cannot lead GM. That’s my take. That’s the stubborn truth. Mr. Trailer, I did not have a formal meeting, but a brief chat with PPO at the sidelines of Tickles Restaurant where we hosted them for dinner. I don’t need to convince you at all on that. Take it or leave it. I also approached ZD but he was not willing to discuss anything to do with Gor at that moment. Again I don’t need to convince you. Mr. Trailer you must learn to accommodate divergent views. It does not necessarily mean that we are fighting. It’s healthy for we do not need to follow others like ants. Time to elect the new EC has come. We have made a lot of noise the whole season about it. I must thank you for being patient. Let us see who will emerge victorious. For all contestant, I wish them the very best. For God and my club Kogallo
@47 Kosero…you are still letting me down because slowly you are becoming a heckler..something that i dont want to associate you with.
One question to you Mr. Kosero…HOW DID YOU CONCLUDE THAT MWAKIO CANNOT LEAD GM?…what parameters did you use to come to that conclusion? why single out Mwakio yet he has not announced his candidature?
Are you not the same person insisting on everyone being given a chance and whoever wins you’ll support him/her?
Will i be wrong to conclude that your assumption/insistence that Mwakio cannot lead Gor is purely based on the fact that he comes from Coast and not Nyanza?? I personally come from Gucha in Kisii and i support Gor. Give reasons why you believe Mwakio cannot lead GM? Show cause why those of us who are nationalists should not construe your statements to mean hatred?
You need redemption Comrade Kosero.
@Ogango Trailer i support all your views.
@kosero Mwakio is our man , now give us urs
Regarding Gor Mahia fans expectations, ladies and gentlement, please allow me to continue with what we fans expect from the new office bearers that will come in after 27 November 2011 AGM as noted as 15. Set up Gor Mahia TV that will work together with the league sponsors to bring live matches that are not shown by DSTV. 16. Set up academies of all age categories such as under 12, under 15, under 18 and under 21 teams with funding to be sourced from government institutions, NGOs and other sponsors. 17. Develop women football team that can be associated with divas. 18. Develop code of conduct for the new office bearers and publish what the stakeholders expect from our fans in terms of discipline and positive engagements. 19. Develop a 3 – year strategic plan of Gor Mahia with clear and sound objectives that include our mission statement, vision and core values that should be circulated to fans and other stakeholders. 20. Develop a long term and sustainable fund raising strategies without over burdening the fans
I now rest my case and the jury is out.
@Pundit, Mwakio cannot lead GM for very obvious reasons which I had stated. May be you were not very keen while reading my earlier posts. Go to post 23 and post 32. Besides that, I am sorry to say that there are some chacters in GM who believe Gor belongs to Luo’s and there is no way a non-luo can be elected to lead Gor. They even go to the extent of pitting Luos from Central Nyanza against Luo from South Nyanza. At the moment whoever is in charge is from Central and there is always that believe that Gor Mahia originated from the south. South tends to belief that they own Gor. This is the major reason why Mwakio stand no chance leading Gor. The last time Gor had a non-Luo chair – Singh – he was unceremoniously hounded out of office the “Gor hooligans way”. They argued that it was bad omen for an non-luo and furthermore an Indian to lead Gor and thats why Gor was posting bad results. So comrade Mwakio my very honest 10 cents worth of advice is that dont waste your time. I am not sure whether Mwakio is known beyond Bloggers as far as Gor family is concern. May be, may be not. Elections are just 2 weeks away, how prepared is candidate Mwakio if he decides to contest. Refer to my post 32. You are better off as a Blogger. Na hiyo ndiyo ukweli wa mambo. For God and my Club Kogallo
From the onset let me put it clearly that,i dont hold any brief for mwakio, neither do i have anything personal againts kosero.
But brother kosero, your opinion @no33,really exposes you.You come across as a very bitter, intolerant, and even contemptious person, far away from the level-headed,democratic,and accommodative kosero we’ve always known in this blog. bro what happened to the ‘tolerance’ you have so relligiouslly preached about on this blog?
Fellow bloggers, the truth of the matter is that mwakio has not and for that matter will not be offering himself for the post of gm chairmanship,if anything he was just proposed by one of the bloggers,i think it was (kowino)to stand for the post of upcountry v-chairman.Thus any attack directed at mwakio concerning him being an aspirant for gm chairmanship,is not only ill advised but blatant ignorance.
By going ahead and declaring that gm will end up on nov27th with a ‘hopeless’ chairman, whatever that means ,or that some people would rather vote for a dog rather than vote ar,bro kosero, you are not only belittling us voters, most of who visit this blog, but you are also showing us open contempt.
@Kosero, your comments are very-irritating, too-tribal, contempt to fans of GM, mis-placed, ill-calculated, myopic, garbage in-garbabe out, ill-conceived etc. This just reflect how tribalist you are Kosero with all your folks and buddies. I have married a Luo girl from Ugenya. Does it mean that I should divorce my Luo wife because I cannot be accommodated in Gor Mahia? Kosero your comments have left me bleeding that a non-Luo cannot contest for any position(s) in Gor Mahia. Such comments are not good for Gor Mahia’s posterity. These are stone age comment that need to be uttered by politicians but not someone who has gone to school like you Kosero.
For these reasons, I will not offer myself for any position.
@Mwakio what you have on paper looks very good but I am not sure how you will implement them. I am skeptical because we the so called followers have no respect for sponsors. Your blue print is very good and very expensive to implement. It will need serious corporate sponsor to realize it but the characters who “own” Gor are the biggest stumbling block to such great ideas. Indeed that’s where we are supposed to be but it’s very unfortunate that the majority of Gor follower who also take part in electing EC have no time to look at such things. If they have the audacity to tell TUZO to go to hell simply because of replica shirts cost, forgetting that the very TUZO are the ones taking care of players’ salaries, kitting, medical etc. then things like Gor TV become pipe dream to say the least. That’s why I say Mwakio cannot lead Gor. No ill feeling, nothing personal against candidate Mwakio as some of us my want to put it but just the facts of the matter. I have been a GM follower for over 30 years now and I know what I am talking about. For God and my club Kogallo
@Arrumtiddi..i agree with you 100%.
@Kosero..i now take your comments and views for granted because it’s clear you want AR and by extension ZD to continue being in office…status quo! You belong to the past…A guy who talks about South Nyanza…Central Nyanza etc is a man of the past dark days.
@Kosero…when we criticised the EC, AR and one ZD..you fiercely defended them and advised us to respect the office until the next AGM and you’ll accept whoever is elecetd, some of us were starting to take you as a role model…not anymore…It has now come to our attention that you are fiercely supporting AR and the current EC still to maintain status quo..i deduce that you are intolerant, un-democratic, dictator, “want it all” and a lover of status quo as it were in the days of “baba”…you dont believe that apart from AR no one else can lead….YOU ARE ALMOST CONFIRMING MY WORST FEAR…THAT INDEED YOU COULD BE ZD OR AR…OR A SHADOW.
@Bloggers..kindly take Kosero’s comments for granted and let’s forge ahead….Kosero is a man WHO PREACHES WATER AND DRINKS WINE..how bad!
@Mwakio don’t get worked up for nothing. That’s Gor for you. Before you start to use all adjective to condemn me, please read my post with an open mind AGAIN. Fact, Gor is predominately supported by Luo’s. Fact, Gor fans are the most intolerant set of fans worldwide. Fact, Gor fans are among most superstitious lot in africa. Fact, Gor fans believe they either win or win. Therefore comrade Mwakio, you do not need to lose your head because you have misinterpreted my post. Read again. For God and my club Kogallo.
KISERO DIGNIFY YOURSELF AND STOP THE VILLAGE POLITICS
@ Kisero with all due to respect please do some soul searching, then pray and chase that “evil spirit”. You have been one of the best contributors on this blog and i am lost for words as to what has suddenly triggered your comments about SOUTH & CENTRAL NYANZA.
Kisero think beyond LUOISM. Gor Mahia is the official name of the football club. The legendary GOR MAHIA was son of OGADA who son of OGALO period! and he hailed from SOUTH.
In this blog i really beg all bloggers to desist from tribalism, ethnicity or clanism for that matter. Let us be people who are very accommodative and use the prevailing conducive atmosphere to brain-storm and debate like football lovers. We have MWAKIO, PUNDIT, PARERIYIO, MUTHONI who have nothing to do with luoism when it comes to issue pertaining toKO’GALO.
I am a half luo & a luhya , my late father used to support AFC and RE-UNION. i come from a place called USONGA bordering both SIAYA and BUSIA counties but i am a die-hard KO’GALO not due to tribal affiliation but my desire and love for their beautiful and fantastic football and of cause the most loyal and entertaining followers.
@ Kisero please give MWAKIO a break. Its does help when you keep on bashing supporters who do not hail from LUO COMMUNITY. @ Kisero please sober up , turn the page and let us read from the same script.
As my comrade @ KIsero at least their is one common thing that we both share; we have a far fetched history down the memory lane of KO’GALO during the golden era. We only differ In principle on how to re-claim back KO’GALO that can me and you can be proud of in this time and age.
@ Kisero please stop tribalism you are a senior person in the corporate world and i humbly request you to embrace nationalism. Otherwise somebody might confuse you with “KONDELE THUGS WHO STONED TUJU IN KISUMU OUT OF IGNORANCE”
@Pundit as usual I allow you to call me anything. What’s the fear about, if you have a candidate that you think is popular and can take the club to the next level, let him throw his hat on the ring. It is only 2 weeks away. Let us not burry our head in the sand like the proverbial ostrich. Let’s speak out on some of retrogressive things that retard the development of our beloved club, like I have stated in my earlier post. Let’s not give some of our comrades false hope where we clearly know it’s not possible. You want Mwakio to be like AR against Nyamweya. My friend Mwakio do not be lured into this trap. For God and my club Kogallo
@ Kosero – You dont seem to know what you are talking about.I can conclude that you are just but a big hater.By the way, what idiologies do you stand for?Whats your vision for Kogallo? I don’t know of any that you have advocated for in this forum, all i know that you are a person who always goes against the views of the majority.
MWAKIO,you are the kind of person we need in Gor Management.take up the challenge man and go for it.am looking forward to unveiling you as our candidate during the Rangers match.
What we need is a person who can wipe out corruption in Gor and ensure that there is proper accountability of funds and clear management structures in place.that will form the foundation of implementing all the wonderful ideas that we fans have.
@Kosero…here you are again..answer this question…Has Mwakio announced his candidature? he has only articulated what he believes can change the club.! is that declaring anything? How bad.

@OGANGO TRAILER why are you mistaking me? I am only highlighting ills that bedevil Gor as far as electing their EC is concern. I abhor tribalism or any form of discrimination. I am only putting matters straight because I care for others. I am in no way saying that Gor belong to Luo, all I am saying that it is predominantly supported by Luo’s who it’s so happen are also the voters. These voters will not vote for a non-luo in a Gor Mahia elections. That has been the practice and I don’t see it changing anytime soon. It is retrogressive but what do we do. The club has its owners so they claim when challenged. What is wrong if Kosero puts is in black and white like that. For God and my club Kogallo.
@Pundit, I think its English that the problem here. Post 58 reads “My friend Mwakio do not be lured into this trap”
Post 23 reads “Comrade Mwakio please go ahead and declare your candidature but also help the voters know who you are and what you stand for. As a leader you should be prepared to be called anything including “fisi” by some ungratefull characters.”
Those are my previous posts that if you are keen while reading will show you that Mwakio has not declared his candidature. I think I am now clear. For God and my club Kogallo
MWAKIO JUST IGNORE KISORE COMMENTS.
Comrade MWAKIO i did advice you @ 44 as OGANGO TRAILER not to engage in un-warranted arguments with @ Kisero because of the obvious consequences.
There is a wise saying in our vernacular that reads as shown below;
“IN EVERY MARKET PLACE THEIR IS ALWAYS A MAD MAN WHO WILL CLAIM THE SOLE OWNERSHIP OF THE PLACE IN THAT CATEGORY”
That is why you will never find more than two insane individuals sharing the same market.
So on this blog we can not be exempted from such saying and @ Kisero i give you “Thumbs Up” for officially claiming tht position from “Ja-ngere”. And please do not forget to pass my sincere greetings to you other partner namely “KALEMBE NDILE” if you happen to bump onto him in the streets of Kampala or Tok Komwanda.
Have that for today and i hope you will have succeeded in shaking off the villager mindset before we can blog fresh tomorrow.
@OGANGO TRAILER I am not surprised with your latest post. You are always know on this blog to resort to irrelevancies like now in your last post or name calling when you cannot defend your argument. No matter what name you call me, I will remain steadfast in what I believe in as a Kogallo follower. For God and my club Kogallo
MWAKIO POLE my bro i was away now am back fully this kampala kosero is he same guy who was undercover ya zedy so much that any fan cunt talk about zedy he shuts fans off . kama ni wewe plse we know how u gave us names on this blog sana ,lakini us fans wr very happy with what we did .any fan can tell u they are happy strees yako alienda ,FANS R LEADERS AND COMANDERS .MWAKIO ur our shemeji by 4 by far karibu sana, mwakio dnt answ that guy again even I hv sau jina lake talk to minded fans who u know by name fimbo ya mbali haliuwe nini? tosha.tuko na wewe si
hi lads i have kept of the debate but am impressed by the way things have turned for the better first ndugu mwakio go!!!! go!!!!! i will support your candidature for the one simple reason you are working in the management field, kogallo needs transformation into a business out fit not community owned things could some one tell why east African football is lagging behind in Africa is most existing clubs are either parastatol owned or community with exception of a few we need business minded people who needs to take us forward not law experts run the club let all candidates come and share with us @ mwakio don’t talk alot here be a good listener to help you shape your policies
Guyz unless people are educated on the dynamics of GM dont expect miracle to happen on 27th Nov 2011. In GM there are vested interest from all corners and as much as you are rulling @kosero off-side the fact remain he has some points which i truely believe for GM to move forward need to be done away with. Remember once the late Mwenje (RIP) in 2002 when GUMO unleashed thugs on Betty Tet and she went and complained to NARC secretariate Mwenje told her that politics is not a church where you go and worship politics you should be prepared to unleash terror and control when called apon. Managing GM require more than what is already said in this blog. Brother Mwakio i’ve read your articals but im sorry our people still need education and direction and dont tell me the playing unit is made up of players from different tribes remember 2012 is coming and people have to play their cards well. I would wish people of good intention to lead GM but that will take time. Im sorry if i offended anybody but that is the bitter truth. Personally ive said before and ill keep on repeating i hate hooliganism but the thugs are known and you and me can do nothing about them. That 27th expect them in big numbers and they will not listen to anything until they achieve there objective. So lets sober up and work on how this menace can be eradicated first then we will have the GM we want with focused leaders regardless of where they come from otherwise…………………….!
@mwakio your popularity is cooking and picking very well keep it up! @ kosero you are equally good at putting across your feeling but never try to be personal i love what am reading
kosero, sometimes its hard to take you seriously, coz this minute ur saying this the next minute. ur saying that. You shift goalposts too much.
One time you tell mwakio to go ahead and declare his candidature, the next minute and even before mwakio has declared his candidature, you declare, and i quote,
‘mwakio is going nowhere, period!'(as if he has declared his candidatture).
Again you dont dispute that mwakio,in your own words,is ‘able’,then you go ahead and dismiss his candidature as ,again in your own words ‘hype’
Why are you blowing hot and cold?what do you stand for? if at all you stand for anything?anyway its always nice having you on the blogs.
@ KISERO I HEREBY KINDLY APOLOGIZE AND WITHDRAW MY REFERENCE POST @ 65. I BEG FOR YOUR FORGIVENESS!
@ Kisero your post @ 56 was very abusive when you refer to KO’GALO supporters as among most superstitious lot in africa.
@ Kisore is that a FACT ? Do you practice superstition as one of the fanatical supporters since the GOLDEN ERA.
@ Kisore some of the facts your are defending can not apply to the current generation in the world of football.
@ Kisore just be very objective and critically analyze MWAKIO suggestion as regards our expectation from point 1 to 20. And let it end at that otherwise your counter comments may have valid reservations but bloggers are reading personality war as opposed to “BRAIN GAME”.
MWAKIO HAS REITERATED SEVERAL TIMES THAT HE IS NOT OFFERING HIMSELF FOR ANY POSITION BUT YOU HAVE REFUSED TO RELENT IN YOUR SYSTEMATIC PERSONALITY BASHING.
BE AWARE THAT YOUR HARSH COMMENTS CAN ADVERSELY CAUSE A LOT OF RIPPLE EFFECT IN THE FORTH-COMING AGM
KISERO LET US USE OUR WISDOM AND TAKE KO’GALO BACK TO THE GOLDEN DAYS.

@arrumtiddi that is what they call selective reading, which is allowed for the sake of supporting ones argument. You have decided to quote what you feel will advance your argument. Otherwise, I have said all regarding GM elections and my argument is clear. Would be candidate like Mwakio cannot go far. Reasons are on my earlier post. No grudge or anything against him but the way something are done in Gor locks him out. It’s unfortunate but that’s the bitter truth which some of us are not willing to concede no wonder they call me names. For God and my club Kogallo
NOTICE FOR BLOGGERS BRANCH MEMBERS MEETING.
@ MWAKIO thank you for submitting your email address; we shall get in touch with you the soonest possible. I will be handing over the acting-chairmanship position of the branch to Mr. MWAKIO officially. Your commitment and contributions has won the hearts of KO’GALO bloggers and as such have become the most popular leader.
@omondiomollo bwana wakili thanks for the good job you have so far done for the branch.I will send over all minutes for the last meeting so that you can officially take over the position of the branch secretary general.
@ ODUOR 12,Jb, arrumtiddi and Vincent Ocampo please arrange for the meeting venue place this weekend. I anticipate a big number of people attending;so arrange for a fall back meeting place.
@OGANGO TRAILER I am sorry but Gor fans are very superstitious lot. We do not even need to go far. We lost lives at Nyayo Stadium last year October because of superstition. Fans insisted on entering the stadium through a particular gate. Flash back one time Gor played AFC while putting on 2 jerseys, green on top of blue. Gor refused to change the blue uniform that was color clashing with AFC’s, yet Gor was the home team. Sianga Abawo was hounded out because “hakuwa na kismat”. While playing KTM in Thika, fans deflated the ball claiming the opponents had smeared it with stuff that made it impossible for Gor to score. There are very very very many incidences. Therefore it’s not an insult but a fact. For God and my club Kogallo.
kosero i had intended to take a rest till another topic came up for discussion, but your assertions that the fans who died at nyayo(their souls in peace),did so coz of superstition,is not true. it was reported that kogallo fans didnt’ want to access the stadium thru gate 2.This line of thought was advanced by one of the leading media houses, its unfortunate that some people took this as the gospel truth.
I was in nyayo on that fateful day,and even entered the stadium using the ill fated gate two,and was caught up in the ensuing melee and subsequent stampede, luckily i was only pushed and shoved off and didnt get injured.
Anybody who attended the match tha cold and soggy october evening will bear me witness that the heavy rains just before the match led to huge crowd forming at the points of entry. The rains subsided just as the match was about to kick off.The slow movement of persons into the stadium made most people who were outside impatient, hence the pushing, shoving and jostling to get into the stadium.
That is what caused the stampede, and any other explanation is FALSEHOOD!
Sometimes its’ always good to be on the ground to get information first hand rather than over rely on media reports, these media people sometimes do have their own agendas to advance.
I agree that superstition, used to be embraced in soccer. This phenomena was not confined to gor alone, but rather it was world over.but of late majority of the fans i see in gor matches are those born between 1975-1990.Most people in this generation do not believe in ‘football black magick’

I have been reading several of the comments on this blog, and I am afraid that some of the most ardent contributors want to keep Gor “as is”, and are not interested in expanding it to a more professional and regional outfit. They are hell bent on perpetuating the status quo, rife with “village mentality”, hooliganism, and intolerance for others – these are the stakeholders holding the club back. There is no logical reason that after 40 years of existance, Gor is still barely limping-along financialy, depending on the larges of a few well-healed benefactors and the good will of a few fans. Cmmunity clubs run in such a manner will never grow beyond their current status as long as are these regressive forces controling the clubs.
I sincerely hope that these regressive forces will be overcome, and that more enlightened, embrassing forces take over so that the club can grow.
Kosero, what makes u think u r the custodian of the truth? Thats merely the truth according to you. Some fans might be supersticious, that doesn’t mean all are. You present urself as someone trying to help Mwakio by telling him the ”truth” but guess what, u r making things worse by dismissing his candidature on the basis of such retrogressive notions. Untill he offers himself for an elective post, only God would know whether he’d make it or fail but not you! So i’d ask u to keep such advice to yourself, instead of helping us break away from the past you r working hard 2 take us back there. What you r effectively saying is that non Luos shldn’t follow Gor, bcoz if they cant vie why be here? I urge all who have a vision for Gor regardless of your tribal background or race, please do so and don’t pay attention to the likes of Kosero.
@Njoroge you are spot on. Unfortunately with GM as @Kosero puts it there is always some rowdy group which doesn’t want to reason and it’s this group that makes the club stagnate after 40 years in existence. If I had the means I would make sure the club comes out of that myth that it’s a regional club. I would make sure that we have all ‘regions’ represented in the EC. Have encountered some of our EC members who come from the ‘right’ region but some have no clue on where the club should be heading to. If we had a Mr. Singh as the chairman and he had ideas then that’s the way to go. I remember Mr. Mugo (or whatever his name was as the Vice chair) some times back. This means that @Mwakio, @Njoroge and @Pareiyo should all vie for seats. Even if it’s bloggers branch chair. One doesn’t necessarily be the GM chair but can contribute in a small way at any position. Let’s not forget that Shollei kept on speaking about his vision for Soccer in kenya and went ahead to be elected despite the wave from the former KFF. Therefore despite the negative facts that @Kosero has articulated there is always a first for everything and I believe that GM fans have realised that the club has grown beyond the original roots. We cannot want to conquer Africa and at the same time make the club appear like a village club. So guys let’s open up and think of GM the same way we think of some great African clubs like Esperence
People, Gor EC is like politics of Kenya, by insisting that Mwakio vie for the top seat is just like having UK vie for MP seat in Kasipul Kabondo or even RAO contesting MP seat in Mathioya. It simply cant want. Its unfortunate but thats the truth of the matter. For God and my club Kogallo
