Gor Mahia disarm soldiers

Gor Mahia won a crucial battle over the high flying soldiers of Ulinzi in  midweek match played at the Nyayo national stadium on Wednesday night, beating them 2-0. Kogalo indeed appeared superior to the soldiers in all facets of the game especially in midfield where Kevin Omondi and Collins Okoth excelled, the former having gained a boost of confidence after having been promoted to the national team.

Le Camerounais Baldwin Ngwa found the back of the net for the second succesive game giving Gor Mahia a much deserved lead early in the first half. Gor Mahia continued to press with Blackberry Odhiambo coming close on several occassions. But the score remained 1-0.

Early in the second half, midfielder Collins Okoth was given his marching orders by a hasty referee Isaac Ochieng. Coach Zedekiah Otieno Zico was also sent off for protesting as irate fans let their frustrations at the referee  be known. Some referees unfortunately like to bring attention to themselves. Gor Mahia were  man down and without their coach but they never stopped pressing. They were eventually reward with a second goal via George Odhiambo “Blackberry” who evaded the entire Ulinzi defence to score an instant classic. Ulinzi tried to pull one back and came close but the defence marshalled by keeper Jerim Onyango amd Eric Masika stood firm.

Its fair to say Kogalo are in a form the fans havent seen since 1997. They are now perched in 4th position, only four points behind the league leaders. The match was graced by Welsh and Liverpool legend Ian Rush who had to have been impressed by the show Kogalo put on. It must have been reminiscent of the great star studded Liverpool teams of the late 80s which Rush led.

Great results boys. However, I am worried of the many yellow cards we accumilated yesterday. This may come to haunt us at the critical moment of the league. Zedi, work on that. Posta Rangers is next, lets work towards maximum points and as many goals as possible. You never know, goals differance may determine the champion. Kogallo All the Best

Eish, that was sweet football. We did play our hearts out.If u watched last Sato’s game against Mathare, you will realize that Zeddie made the right fielding. The lanky Ugandan(Anguyo No 18)is what we were missing then.Though his passing was poor,he physical presence was felt in the pitch.Ngwa has finally found his form.Kevin Omondi is a joy to watch.Blackberry, you kill me dead.I hope the Italian and French league scouts are watching.Out takeoff power is at its strongest, let’s maintain the momentum and bring the title home.God Bless Kogallo and all the fans.

I can imagine what it meant to being a fan of K’Ogalo. I had to sneak from work just to make sure that my support is felt at NNS. Well many comments I’ve come across is all about yellow card, may I say a big NO. These yellow cards had a meaning and a message to the fans. Being the best fans in the region and is well known. We were to be silenced by all means possible, but as we are always aimed to be at the top, this didn’t work well for them and now, we are the Champions and will continue to be. As the late Omino quote “UNBWOGABLE”, none shall stop our ambitions.

  • I am just worried about the defense my friends they have to polish it up the same thing applys to striking they have to finish @ least 75 % of their chances. as they play let them not think about the league but how well they will be sported up out there by the european teams it will help them greatly instead of relying solely on harambees its sad for someone to play for 3 months or so with arrears still being owed to them kwani ni kazi ya kanisa
