Gor Mahia dispatch Muhoroni 2-0
Kogallo consolidated their lead atop the KPL standings with a convincing 2-0 win over Muhoroni Youth at Kisumu stadium on Saturday. The first goal came via Jacque Tuyisenge in the 41st minute. George Odhiambo who is quickly regaining his goal-scoring form, netted the second goal in the 80th minute. Gor Mahia now have 37 points.

NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 5- Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr picked up his third Kenyan Premier League win in a row since taking charge of the team, guiding the 15-time champions to a 2-0 win over Muhoroni Youth at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu on Saturday.
Jacques Tuyisenge scored his second goal in as many matches for Gor in the first half with George ‘Blackberry’ Odhiambo adding the second as Gor opened up a four point gap over second placed Posta Rangers who play Nzoia Sugar on Sunday.
This is a record 10th consecutive victory for K’Ogalo but Kerr remains disappointed that his strikers have failed to bury most of the chances they have created.
“It is frustrating because we are still wasteful in the final third. We lack the technique and also there is a lack of understanding with players on the runs especially in the box,” Kerr noted.
“Of course I am delighted that we have won a third consecutive game and kept clean sheets in all. Again our keeper Peter (Odhiambo) was not tested in the match and his concentration levels have been very good.”
Kerr made two changes to the squad that beat Nakumatt 1-0 in midweek with Anthony Mbugua coming into midfield in place of Philemon Otieno while Timothy Otieno started on the right side of attack ahead of Boniface Omondi who dropped to the bench.
However, Mbugua’s first start of the season only lasted 26 minutes as he was forced out with a hamstring strain with Kenneth Muguna taking his spot.
Gor had started well with Meddie Kagere missing a sitter inside the first minute, failing to hit the ball on target from a Timothy Otieno cross. Four minutes later, Kagere had the ball inside the net from a Karim Nizigiyimana cross, but the goal was ruled out for offside.
Tuyisenge opened the scoring in the 40th minute when he sneaked in at the near post to head home a Godfrey Walusimbi corner, Gor getting a reward for all their efforts.
In the second half, Gor upped the pressure with Otieno being hauled off for Boniface Omondi. Gor added pressure in attack with Omondi having efforts go wide from range.
Blackberry finally capped off the evening 12 minutes from time, coming on to the end of a wonderful team movement to slot past Salim Sowedi and seal the victory.
K’Ogalo’s next assignment will be away to soldiers Ulinzi Stars.
Was a good match. They kept muho in their own half for better part of the game. Hope the new coach is already instilling confidence in the strikers and you can see berry coming back with at least a goal per match and tuyisenge capitalizing on crosses to finish. The pace is good and they may win this league.
the clueless and tactless former gor coach nows salivates for Jausenge who has been reformed by Kerr.The techniques of scoring goals is now being implemented courtesy of Kerr and Ze maria should be made to pay heavily in order to acquire Jausenge whom failed to coach properly. Otherwise thumps up for the entire playing unit and technical bench for thrashing the Little brothers Muho.We can now be hopeful of reclaiming the league title.

Spoke to some of the boys last week, I like the new found confidence and belief and looking at the fixture for the next 10 games, 8 wins out of 10 and the league is as good as wrapped up.

Quite happy that Fredrick Odhiambo has maintained some clean sheets thus keeping Oluoch on the bench. I also like the idea of squad rotation which has become a trademark of Kerr. Up next is Muho then Ulinzi, let me hope so.
Kudos to the team & Bench, closely watching Jausenge’s & BB’s performance/ transformation which is pleasantly surprising me. Ze Maria tatics?? It’s refreshing to pick points against the lower teams as it makes life that much easier for ourselves later. To bloated EC start preparing for CAF assault NOW with the same gusto i hear some of you are devoting on the political front, which by the way is within your individual right. Let us not have the perenial excuses of lack of funds, CAF licensing approval or our league is out of synch.
Good game that i watched. We were not well rested after the mid week game and played in second gear but still made Muhoroni look like school boys. We are now winning with a refreshing regularity and even the staunchest of Ze Maria’s defenders should now accept what our problem was…..every coach has a player who thrives under their tenure and for Ker it is Blackberry. He is a player reborn!!!

Please Eastern European Coach whom i don’t want to mention keep off Muguna and stop distracting his mind and focus with offers of a 450,000 monthly salary.
