Gor Mahia Fans assured of an open process

Gor Mahia followers have been asked to remain calm as the club reorganizes for elections following the botched Sunday 15 December polls.

The elections failed to take off after it emerged that there weren’t enough voting materials and the club’s vice chairman Mr. Faiz Ochieng has urged all stakeholders at the club to focus on preparing the club for 2014 assignments.

Open

He told futaa.com that the elections will be organized in an open and fair manner.

-My appeal is to the fans to be calm despite the challenges experienced that made the elections fail to take off. Elections come and go and should not be allowed to tear apart the club and the great project that is Gor Mahia.

Serve the club

-The exercise will be held eventually and it will be very open and fair. The people who will get the mandate should know that their first calling is to serve the club, he said.

Following the failed exercise, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) stepped in to declare that the current office stay on for 30 days to redo the process afresh.

Fred Mwango Challenges club to aim higher

Former Gor Mahia chairman Fred Mwango has urged the club’s management and all stakeholders to consider pushing the elections further after the botched elections forced a postponement.

Mwango termed the recent developments as unfortunate, untimely and unwarranted and called for an indefinitely postponement of the exercise owing to the forthcoming International assignments by the club.
Stability
-The only way to maintain stability in the club  at the moment is  to defer the elections indefinitely. We cant face continental matches with a  divided house.Having new faces in the  club will not guarantee peace.
-We are not sure whether by holding the elections shall get people  with new ideas to steer the club  to prosperity. Why are we in a  hurry to hold  elections?
The former boss insists that the current office has registered tremendous growth within the club and should be left to prepare the team for the continental assignments due next year.

I support stability at the club. All of us should avoid wrangles.

Yes. Elections do not and should not imply war and anarchy.

To all bloggers including Jamigori I take this opportunity to wish you NOT ‘happy holidays’, but a Merry Christmas and new year full of promise.

In the meantime bloggers, let me remind all of us that it is around this time when we usually call for a truce against the Executive Community in order to allow them enjoy the festive season with their families. Once again let us give them some peace so that they can enjoy Christmas and New Year celebrations with their families using their hard-earned savings, the larger portion of which came from Gor Mahia gate collections.

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son
is given; and the government will be upon
His shoulder. And His name will be called
    Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Ever-
    lasting Father, Prince of Peace.
    ( Isaiah 9:6 *NKJV )

    Dear bloggers
As we celebrate this day let us not lose sight of the first
Christmas present ever given, that being God giving us His Son,
our Savior Jesus Christ, to dwell with us!

So let us not get lost in all the hustle and bustle of this time
of year. Instead, let us be mindful of all our blessings, and
share the Christmas Spirit with others. Remembering:

    THE GREATEST GIFT

    The greatest gift at Christmastime
Is one we all may give –

A friendly smile that helps to make
    Life easier to live.

A kindly thought, a helping hand,
    To show someone we care

And let them know how much it means
For us to have them here.

    The greatest gift at Christmastime
Costs not a lot to buy –

    It’s being a good neighbor
As days and months go by:

    It’s offering a shoulder
    When someone needs a lift,

And so I pray this Christmas Day
That this may be your gift!
    Poet, Grace E. Easley

May you have a Very Merry Christmas, and a Wonderful
    New Year! Amen.

All My Love & Christmas Cheer,
    Mwakio & Family

The over 300 hundred bloggers enlisted on this site are more than enough as Oduor 12 puts it to form a new branch for gormahia.
Its practicability is what is bothering me but its a good idea if it can work.
Shs.500 would be ideal as registration fee and a monthly contribution of shs.500 as well. Five hundred shs. monthly is about seventeen shs. daily and i think this is affordable.
Oduori 12 and the blogs administrator, can you get this going, am very much optimistic.
Online registration is possible, all that is required is positivity and leadership.

In light of @BB’s appeal that we allow the executive committee enjoy their hard earned GM gate collections I will on restrict myself to appeal to Faiz to backup his assurance of a free & fair election with concrete actions:
    1. Surely the officials must appoint an ELECTIONS BOARD, the office MUST NOT CONDUCT THE ELECTIONS.
    2. At least lets have transparent “ballot basins” boxes this time.
    3. It would be good if an SGM is held b4 the elections so that matters such as financial statements, performance of the office in general and of every official in particular can be reviewed. The election timetable/process can be agreed upon.
LASTLY ON ELECTION DAY LET THE SOLE AGENDA BE ELECTION OF OFFICIALS AND TALLYING OF THE VOTES. THE ELECTIONS MUST (AND I REPEAT MUST) COMMENCE BY 9.00AM SO AS TO BE COMPLETED IN GOOD TIME.
To ex-chair Mwango Please Please shed some light on the GM plot.
@Alego tat Yien. I think around late 2010 there was an effort to set up a bloggers branch. The idea for the lack of a better term failed principally because the intiators (myself included) could not raise the kshs.5,000 needed for a branch to be recognized by GM EC.
But there’s no harm in trying again. As you say the blogs administrators should perhaps help out.
Despite our varied & diverse opinions, the branch should be non-factional & support the validly elected office (not FKF appointed) of the day. Such a branch may be the only vehicle by which able bloggers like Mwakio may get a reasonable shot at LEAN GM EC position. So rather kazi kwangu. its kazi kwetu nduguzanguni.
No that note anybody knows what the Gor Mahia Foundation does, its objectives etc.
