Gor Mahia Fans foundation visits Children with Cancer
On Saturday November 6 2014, the Gor Mahia fans foundation visited the Kenyatta hospital children’s oncology ward. This is an tradition by the organization which visits children in hospital several times a year.
During the visit, the foundation presented gifts to the children including:
• Books
• Mosquito nets
• Drip stands
• Toys (assorted)
• Wheel chairs • Medicine for cancer treatment
• Patient stretchers
• Fruits
• LCD tv sets
• Pay hospital bills for needy patient
• Panel heaters
• Toiletries
I would urge the foundation to alert media outlets especially TV stations whenever they engage in CSR activities on behalf of the club.
my advice is, choose strong defenders and lethal strikers this time round. also keep in touch with the head of state regarding sponsorship he promised.

Gor Mahia defender and two times KPL Defender of the Year David Owino is heading to Tanzania for trials with Simba SC.
This was revealed by club’s secretary General, Chris Omondi who told the club’s official websute that they have received a formal request from Simba who want ‘Calabar’ to have trials at the club.

-We have received a formal request from Simba SC inviting David Owino for trials and if he is successful and satisfies the technical bench, Simba SC will be willing to engage the club over his services. They have made arrangement for the player to travel and join them in camp and will cater for the expenses, he said.
Should he be successful in his trials, Calabar will join Dan Sserenkuma who recently left the Gor for Simba SC.

Gor Mahia defender Haron Shakava alongside two locally based strikers Jacob Keli and Herbert Kopany top the list of potential targets for relegation threatened for Al-Khaleej Club, Saudi Arabia Pro League division.
Shakava has heard a hugely successful 1 year stint with the club which he helped retain the league title in 2014.
It is rumoured the player was tempted North by a Sh 5 million amount as sign-on fees, alongside a monthly salary in the region of Sh400,000 to join the Saudi Arabia outfit, where he is set to link up with country mate Herbert Kopany and Jacob Keli.
“Keli and Kopany are arguably one of the brightest youngsters in Kenyan soccer and with Shakava, the trio can really go places, besides the Saudi league suits young players” UK-based agent Dwight Simpson said while confirming the departure of the trio.
And in the wake of the departure of one of its prized defenders, David Owino, Gor Mahia looks depleted and club officials are said to have drawn up a list of targets to replace Sserenkuma, Kizito, David Owino, Haron Shakava, Herbert Kopany, Godfrey Walusimbi and Timothy Otieno ahead of the upcoming league season that is set to commence in February.
I believe that all these means that we have quality players in our club. This will basically make Gor be a top target for both ‘poachers’ as well as quality players who need to go professional out of the country.

Gor Mahia midfielder Patrick Oboya has left club to attend trials in Vietnam, Goal can report.
Oboya, who was part of triumphant K’Ogalo squad that clinched a record 14th Kenyan premier League title at the end of last season, has been attending trials with various clubs and is confident of sealing a permanent switch.
Oboya’s agent Robert Muthomi revealed on Monday that the former Harambee Stars’ midfielder left country two weeks ago and is currently engaged in trial exercise ‘with several teams.’
“Oboya’s contract with Gor Mahia run out at the end of last season and he travelled to Vietnam following an invitation by a friend for a number of trials. The trials have gone well so far and the club (where he is undergoing trials) is taking care of him. Since the contract with Gor Mahia ended, the player is now looking elsewhere.”
Oboya joined Gor Mahia from MFK Ruzomberok of Slovenia and went on to help the club win 2013 Kenyan Premier League title. Before moving abroad, Oboya played for two Kenyan Premier League clubs.
He joined AFC Leopards in September 2005 before transferring to Tusker FC in January 2006 and moved on February 2007 to Czech team FK Said Most. In January 2012, the left-footed midfielder joined Slovak club MFK Ruzomberok on three-year contract.
For the Eagle to continue leaving upto 40 years it undergoes a rebirth process. This entail it ‘hibernating’ and cracking it’s old beak into a hard rock then growing a new one, it also plucks off the old feathers and grows new wings to enable it to fly. This is what is happening to Gor.
We have players earning as much as 12K per month in the KPL but playing as good as those paid 150K plus. What it means is that we have players who will come to Gor for a moderate fee and salary and help us retain the trophy in 2015. We learnt alot in 2015 and we will perfect that to get the title again in 2015
