Gor Mahia go down to Ulinzi 2-0

Gor Mahia’s poor form continued as they went down 0-2 to Ulinzi on Wednesday amid reports of player strikes.

Additional reporting from futaa.com

After five years and in 10 games, Ulinzi Stars have finally managed to beat Gor Mahia in the league, this coming afterThe Soldiers registered a 2-0 win over K’Ogalo courtesy of a brace from Elvis Nandwa in a Kenyan Premier League (KPL) game staged at the Machakos Stadium on Wednesday 19th September.

Opening exchanges

Gor Mahia started on a slow note probably due to their go slow that has seen their players abscond training for days now. Ulinzi could have easily been 1-0 up in the 16th minute when Elvis Nandwa’s shot was cleared off the line by Charles Momanyi. Ulinzi went close again in four minutes later when Enosh Ochieng’s header drew a last minute save from Peter Odhiambo.

Ulinzi goal

Ephrem Guikan then missed the K’Ogallo’s best chance of the half when Onguso threaded a through pass but his effort went wide when he had only the keeper to beat. Ulinzi took the lead in the 36th minute through Elvis Nandwa as he pounced on an error by Peter Odhiambo who punched Dan Waweru’s shot onto the path of Nandwa. Ulinzi went into the halftime break leading 1-0.

Nandwa brace

Ulinzi continued to press their foot on the gas after the resumption and got a two-goal cushion in the 47th minute with Elvis Nandwa bagging his brace, firing his shot past Peter Odhiambo after Elijah Mwania played him through on goal. The goal marks Nandwa’s ninth goal of the season which is a good return for a midfielder.

Masuta miss

Substitute Masita Masita produced a contender for miss of the season when he beat the onrushing Odhiambo in goal and was left with a gaping goal to pick his spot but his effort found the upright. Ulinzi Stars held on for a historic win over Gor Mahia.

Gor Mahia XI: Peter Odhiambo (GK), Wellington Ochieng, Wesley Onguso(Raphael Asudi), Joachim Oluoch, Charles Momanyi , Cercidy Okeyo, Karim Nizigiyimana(Boniface Omondi), Kevin Omondi(Francis Mustapha), Jacques Tuyisenge, Ephrem Guikan and Innocent Wafula.

No comment.. Can’t understand why paying the players is an hustle yet AFC Leopards with the same sponsor, 20m less, have no issues.. The EC is to blame.

Surely disappointing and can anyone blame coach? I can’t believe this. Some body must answer to this unfortunate state of affairs, and the sooner the better. Unacceptable in one word.

Ad the story continues. Before long the players will leave, no new players worth their salt will join and ultimately Kerr will leave. We will then go back to running battles I th stadium, the team will be dockd points and then we will take another 10 years to recover.
I hope Ingwe, Ulinzi, Tusker, Sofa etc and ready to take over the mantle

With this mess, what would be the situation if we had qualified for CAF confederations quarter finals? The Chairman plus your officials, explain to members what the challenge is and sort it out. We believe the executive has the ability to sort out this embarrassing situation. With this mess, a number of our good players may opt to leave the club during the transfer period.

It could get worse next game as only 10 players have indicated they will show up. I suggested to the powers that be it is better to forfeit matches than embarass ourselves like a bunch of children in the playing ground.

Let Kerr leave honorably ! enough is enough. I predicted consecutive ‘ kichapo’ until the end of the season which will eventually culminate into him leaving the office acrimoniously. Another thing that most bloggers dont understand, is that Kerr was given the option to let assistant coach manage the remainder of matches till end of season….He declined, so let him face the music afterall November is just around the corner.

Entire Inept EC must go …This we can fulfill as law abiding citizens who have reached the limit of tolerance. There is a time for peace and a time for war….A time to sow and a time to reap…Rachier must see now that his thieving time is surely up…Shakava is negotiating with Lusaka Dynamos as we speak for a possible move in transfer window aided by George Bwana

Someone might be betting in gor. Hizi losses hazimake sense at all. But as I said earlier. The unbeaten run na kpl was of no value. Continental games were of value. On a SAA hii ile psych ya kuwatch game iliisha

So the sabotage is because Sir Kerr did not agree to leave the reminder of the matches to Zico.Brethren ,AR has done well bt I think its time he & jakoyo & the entire EC leave the club so that the club can be professionalized

A time has come for the fans to exercise justified hooliganism on Rachier and his his stinking EC, this is the only practical thing to do.We cannot remain toothless for long and yet this great club is being destroyed by Rachier. NOOOOOOO! NG’ATO MIYA KIDI.

A team which was on automation mode brought down on its knees because Chairman thinks he is god? Bloggers i was an EC insider and technocrat but my fight for Brand Gor and players rights got me sidelined. I have no Vendetta but it is time for action. I myself often time put professionalism aside and venture into GM offices breathing fire and hailstones and Rachier hears it all even locking himself in his office calling on security to eject me from the premises. I once slapped his protege after which they Declined and swore Never to accomodate my views or suggestions on player signings and that you have all witnessed right here on this forum. I am headed there soon again and even Jakoyo knows how Rachier is allergic to my presence so Jakoyo be warned leave Kerr alone or we extinguish Zico from even that Assistant Coaching role and bring back Bobby Ogolla

What we need to do is go to the trophy presentation in Kisumu and force the whole EC to resign. I expect all of them will be there. And in case they may do that then change their minds we make sure we do it live in front of all media houses. To make it official we will have a pre-drafted official statement that they will proceed to sign. As many of that opinion say……Kuome kata ondilo!!!!!

    Copied,

Gor Mahia players were given Ksh 15000 each after the loss against Ulinzi Stars

Its not clear what the Ksh 15,000 was meant for but sources reveal that the cash that was delivered to the players at the Stadium by the Treasurer was part of the salaries

The players who didn’t turn up for the clash at Machakos and had been informed to join the rest for the pay were unlucky ~They were not paid the 15k .

I am also informed by reliable sources that several players have requested for release letters while others have asked to have their contract terminated

Gor Mahia captain Haroun Shakava is said to be among those who want to leave the club with his letter (Content not known ) at the desk of club CEO .

Gor Mahia will take on Mathare United at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu where they will be handed the trophy officially by KPL

Grapevine is rife that a senior Gor Mahia official used one of his proxies to bet on the Ulinzi clash which generated the clash #Not my words

Meanwhile ,Sofapaka will take on AFC Leopards in one of the semi finals of the Sportpesa Shield (A tournament whose winner represent the country in the CAF confederations Cup ) .The other semi final will be between Ulinzi Stars and Kariobangi Sharks

It is a defining moment for Gor, a time for a metamorphosis like the one engineered by Zack Mbori that lead to Gor reigning in Africa (1987). Time for firm action to be taken by the fans. Jasego No Trophy presentation in Kisumu. It will be a revolution. And Mwendwa is pinning on the revolution in Kisumu to lock Gor out of the continenetal league next year. KPL dont provoke us, this is an in house matter and things are going to burn. Mwendwa lets iron issues out ourselves, dont poke in your nose because you want the number 2 to represent Kenya. AR isemoke kedo oliel maratari.

@jamriambo, dont make matters worse with threats of hooliganism in Kisumu. matters are already bad as it is. It will be retaliated with harsh measures and sanctions by both KPL and FKF, including loss of prize money, a ban from playing in kisumu stadium, fines of untold proportions and most importantly the remote possibility of not participating in CAF 2019 as league champions.

Lets control our emotions as focus on the issues at hand !!!
