Gor Mahia go on rampage against Nzoia
Gor Mahia recorded an impressive 4-0 win over Nzoia United in Kisumu on Saturday showing that despite being locked out of their training ground, coach Dylan Kerr still found ways to sharpen the attack.

NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 9- Jacques Tuyisenge struck a brace as record 15-time Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia beat Nzoia Sugar 4-0 to open up a nine-point gap at the top of the Kenyan Premier League standings.
More goals from Meddie Kagere and substitute Francis Kahata lifted K’Ogalo to their 14th win of the season, moving a step closer to reclaiming the league title from Tusker FC. Second placed Sofapaka will be playing Chemelil Sugar on Sunday in Narok.
Nzoia had the earliest chance of the game after a speedy start but Victor Omondi could not beat Gor shot stopper Peter Odhiambo one on one after running behind the Gor defense.
K’Ogalo however grew into the game as it progressed with Tuyisenge and Kagere making inroads into the Nzoia backline, looking for that opening chance.
They got the goal they yearned for in the 25th minute when Tuyisenge raced in to a George ‘Blackberry’ Odhiambo cross, glancing it powerfully past the Nzoia keeper.
The goal hugely calmed Gor down as they played with more ease, passing the ball around with comfort. Gor doubled their lead a minute to half time, Kagere again sneaking in behind the defense to head home a freekick from Kenneth Muguna.
In the second half, Nzoia started with pace again and had a chance to half the deficit from the penalty spot after Gor keeper Odhiambo had fouled Masita Masuta. However, Steve Wakanya failed to convert, Odhiambo redeeming himself with a good save.
Nzoia were punished for the missed chance three minutes later when Tuyisenge completed his brace with a neat finish.
Kahata then made it 3-0 barely three minutes after coming in with another header, this time Tuyisenge turning from goal scorer to provider, floating in the cross.
Dylan Kerr’s men managed to keep the score intact, choosing to enjoy the play and wind down the clock with Tuyisenge later withdrawn for John Ndirangu.

Where is Mwalala?
From the outset this line up was going to be terrific. The forward line was going to keep Nzoia busy defending. The mid-field with a gritty Mig 7 and a versatile Muguna would definitely outsmart Nzoia. Then there’s this keeper who has made it his business to keep a clean sheet at all costs. A superb and clinical performance barring ruthlessness.
Thank you Ker and Team. It’s a pity most of us are not able to watch K’Ogalo in action. Musymo did you watch it?
What makes me even happier is that Brewkenge is nowhere and Mig 7 is picking up at the right time. Meaning we have more options in the mid-field.

Without regular starters like Walusimbi, Nizigiyimana, Wendo, Oluoch…we still managed to flog a hapless Nzoia 4 – 0!
Squad rotation worked wonders this time round.

Muhoroni also played their part by holding Ulinzi to a draw at Afraha. So how does Ulinzi outsource a ‘kifaranga cha trophy’ from East African military games then fail to break a bottom-table Muhoroni?!!! Shame on them. We are waiting to whack their sorry arses at Afraha in a few weeks’ time. And we need 9 straight wins, a draw and 2 losses to win the league, assuming that Sofapaka wins all its 12 matches. Quite incredible and unlikely indeed.
I have 2 major wishes this season:
1. Thika United should be relegated.
2. Kogallo should reclaim the title from Jokong’o.
No matter how crazy the first wish is, it is politically valid and it’s tenable.
Those who watched the match should give us an in-depth analysis of the players’ individual performance.
Whatever we can’t be awarded by IEBChietha at Bomas will be awarded at Nyayo Stadium under the watchful eyes of Kogallo fans.

As we March fwd to clinch the two trophies that lie ahead of us, I wish to remind all of as that aint done until it is done but ultimately the arc of history bends towards Justice.
To the players , foresight is what must guide u to your football Canaan , first by winning this league , qualifying for the champions league and progressing as far as possible , when that happens , the scouts ( real ones) will come from u , and not from Albania or Georgia but from at a bare minimim Sweden or Belgium , so please invest in your talents and not in short sighted opportunists .
Finally , I want to go on record to thank Kerr for one major achievement , and that is for once again making wearing a Gor Mahia Jarsey GREAT AGAIN and not an entitlement like the likes of Boniface were making it .

That was wonderful. The team is good to go and we will recapture the league trophy. The biggest elephant in the room is the number of players that we will have to release. Quality additions must be made and it’s better we do it early. Point to ponder!!! Have our scouts been hard at work??
As I settled down to watch Gor Mahia against Nzoia Utd, I was unfortunate enough to sit next a Girl Mahia fan who was on a mission to educate me on everything Kogalo! The only problem was that he was offline from start to finish. I waited until when he was through with his lecture then whispered something into his ears. This silenced him and he looked subdued for the next 90 minutes. Tune in for episode 2 tomorrow.

Sofapaka took advantage of a keeper-less Chemelil and ferried goals into their net. The race is narrowing down into a Sofapaka vs Gor affair since the rest are showing signs of fatigue. Sony managed to beat Jokong’o. The title is Gor’s to lose. Shemejis are also exuding rejuvenation, congratulations to them.
Let Thika United join KCB in the relegation zone. I will remain a happier man if they do so. I won’t forget their forced draw at Nyayo in the first leg due to time-wasting, and the decisive robbery of our league victory in 2012. All the milk sponsorship that was taken from Kogallo was heaped upon them. Let Thika be relegated, even if we have to fill stadia and support teams playing against them.

We need to put the difference between us and the second placed team (whether Sofa or any other team) to not less than 10 points. That will give us time , comfort and confidence minus unnecessary pressure to reclaim the league.
