Gor Mahia held by Sofapaka

In the penultimate match of the 2011 season, Gor Mahia and Sofapaka played to a scoreless draw. The match was played at the Nyayo national stadium on Saturday. Gor Mahia were the better side. They came close on several occasions with Dan Makori, Demonde Selenge all coming close only to be foiled by Sofapaka custodian Duncan Ochieng. Finishing in front of goal is something Kogalo will need to work on.

The draw means Gor Mahia finishes the league in 4th position with 48 points. One positive aspect is that they finished ahead of arch rivals AFC Leopards. Tusker coached by former Gor Mahia stopper and coach Sammy Omollo “Pamzo” have won the league. Congratulations to Pamzo. He has proven that he is a good coach when he is not under pressure. That means he is suitable for teams like Tusker that do not have a demanding fan base. At the other end of the table, both relegated teams are from Mombasa. Which means no road trips for Kogalo fans to the coast in 2012.

Please administrator tell me if there is a new meaning to the word penultimate. I thought our match against Sofapaka was the last of the season.

4th place is not too bad. But Kogalo must aim higher next season.

Not a bad perfomance given the bad run we had mid season.HOpe that the technical bench will invest in our forward line for us to see goals next season.

The curtains has finally come down to the Kenyan premier league. I wish to congratulate the 2011 KPL champions, Tusker. My club, K’ Ogalo deserve my commendation for finishing among the top five. Although we fell well below our target this season, nonetheless it is a respectable position.

I wish from the onset to salute the Kenya Premier league officials for the wonderful work to ensure a seamless and entertaining season. However I must note that some of their decisions were controversial and weak. When they announced that Ulinzi will loose six points for failing to honor two premier league matches, and later on reversed their decision, clearly speaks volumes on the character of the officials. I expected the decision shall be firm and binding. We hope a similar scenario shall occur next season

We would like to assure our sponsor,Tuzo that we shall give them value for their money. We shall continue to cement this working relationship for the next remaining two years and beyond. We at K’ogalo feel greatly indebted to you.

To Ingwe, ours is a Siamese twins relatiosnship. They say, when K’Ogalo catches a flu, AFC go down with diarrhea. We shall heavely bank on your support when we start our confederation campaign early next year.Never mind we are ahead of you in the table standing!

To my lovely comrades- the loyal supporters of this great club, I can never thank you enough. The kind of passionate support you have demonstrated throughput the season is awesome. I am feel profoundly honored to meet most of you on this blog. I am always humbled by your insightful comments and analysis of every K’Ogalo match. At times we differed on issues but in the end, we are cognisant of the fact that we are always loyal supporters of K’Ogalo first. Our addresses insignificant .

Finally i cannot afford to forget our wonderful team led by AR for their leadership. Against all the pressure, you have some succeed to steer the club to unprecendented feat this season. Once again, Pongezi sana. To the technical bench, I salute you deserve a pat on your shoulders. And specifically to the coach , Zedekiah Otieno, man, you are my hero. They say quitters never win but winers never quit. Thank you for your courage and commitment.

I wish all of you a merry christmas and a prosperous new year 2012.

The stone that was rejected by the builders became the corner stone. The coach that was bundled out of Gor unceremoniously has won the coveted trophy with Tusker. It takes courage for one to hire a coach who has guided a team to relegation. Tusker hired Pamzo from Mahakama and he did not disappoint. May be something to learn from that ma fans!!! Otherwise congrats to the entire team for a successful season. Position 4 is not so bad. Aim higher next season. For God and my club Kogallo .

@ pareyio ole lelerue Iam Very Dissapointed with your annalysis of the season…Though I agree with you on Rachier,The sponsors and the fans effort…You are way out of Line not Appreciating What Coach Ahono did and going ahead to Say Zico is a winner and that He is your Hero..I dont deny your Passion for Zico but it is Very disrespectful for Coach Ahono to whom,Rescued the Club dwindling fortunes and gave us a reason to smile despite loosing the League Title…Sometimes I think and see why we struggle to effect or stamp our Authority as a team,,,and its mainly because of people like you…and for the RECORD ZICO is a failure both with Gor and National Team…Think about it right after He was asked to step aside Gor Improved in standings, scoring more goals and won a championship,Harrambee Won with 7-0 margin and Kenya rose up on FIFA Rankings so Please stop Taking This space to insult the Inteligence of our Loyal Fans….

@Kosero dont kid yourself. Pamzo cannot succeed at Gor Mahia. Some coaches thrive under pressure and some dont. Pamzo clearly cannot thrive when the seat is hot like at Gor Mahia. Tusker with no pressure is easy to coach.
Secondly most coaches eventually has to leave a club. There comes a time when the team needs an injection of new ideas because the team has stagnated. Whether Pamzo stays at Tusker depends on if he is able to change his tactics and adapt as he gets new players or as teams figure out how to beat his tactics. If he does not adapt he will be fired from Tusker even next year. This happens in football. Fergie has stayed at Man U because he is very good at adapting from year to year. This is rare.

THE FACT REMAINS THAT OUR LEAGUE IS ONE OF THE WEAKEST IN THE CONTINENT.HOW CAN A TEAM THAT SCORES 34 GOALS IN 30 MATCHES BE PRAISED FOR WINNING THE LEAGUE AFTER DROPPING 32 POINTS OUT OF A TOTAL OF 90 POINTS.WE SHOULD STOP FOOLING OURSELVES AND GO FOR QUALITY COACHES OR TECHNICAL DIRECTORS AS THE LEGEND MIKE OKOTH ADVISED.THOSE PRAISING GM FOR FINISHING 4TH ARE THE CLUBS WORST ENEMIES.NOW THAT SCHOOLS HAVE CLOSED AND YOUR KID BRINGS HOME HIS TERM REPORT,WOULD YOU PRAISE HIM/HER IF SHE DROPPED FROM 2ND TO 4TH AND PERFOMED DISMALLY IN EASY TESTS-CONGO,BANDARI.GEORGE BWANA WE NEED YOU TO ORGANIZE A RAFFLE TO BUILD AN ACADEMY NOW THAT YOU ARE OUR SEC GEN .AS FOR THE CHAIR LET HIM CONTINUE WITH HIS DREAM OF BUILDING A STADIUM.KAZI IANZE SASA.

One thing 4 sure is that with Janabi Mahono Kogalo soccer is now more pleasing to the eyes n easier on our necks. Our forwards have however failed to impress n its time 4 hard choices, only Lavasta is worth retaining if hes willing to stay.Otherwise kudos no.12 your role in GM is without doubt crucial in motivating the team n were it not 4 ua steadfastness GM would have ended up no.10 or worse.

@Wuonpap we do not need a raffle to have an academy what we need is GOR MAHIA PLC period…..Let’s look at the name GOR MAHIA as a brand name….and ask ourselves how many people are willing to associate themselves with it’s business wing…I am one of them and i will be among the first to buy any shares should this plan come through…what else is GOR MAHIA known for apart from football? It’s time we used the numbers we have in terms of support to set up strong financial foundation for this great club for the players and the fans…..time for handouts is gone…lets learn to generate and give ….lets avoid begging and spending…….lets think out of the box

@Joe Riaga, you now agree with me that even if we bring Jesus son of David to coach Gor, he will not succeed. I therefore see no point of fighting ZD then, since no coach can succeed in Gor. @WUONPAP, the points garnered by Tusker only shows you how the league was competitive. No more whiping boys in KPL. Lets admit, Tusker was the most consistent team this season and they deserved to win the trophy. I congradulate them. As for Gor fans, lets learn to accept defeat. For God and my club Kogallo.

@Kosero. You are a funny man. I said only coaches who can work under pressure can succeed at Kogalo. Sammy Omollo probably could not cope with the pressure at Kogalo.
As for ZD, his time has passed. There comes a time when a coach runs out of ideas and eventually has to leave and coach elsewhere.
