Gor Mahia in challenging group

Gor Mahia have been placed in group D of the 2018-2019 CAF Confederations cup. The other teams in the group are Zamalek of Egypt, NA Hussein Dey of Algeria and Petro De Luanda.

Gor Mahia will open their group campaign on February 3 against Zamalek at Kasarani.

Its a much more difficult group than last season. But club official Ronald Ngala is confident.

“This year we want to do better and at least progress past the group stages, we know we can do it. We will also discuss and come up with a way to motivate the players,” Ngala told goal.com

Ngala went on to say that the team will be banking on Dennis Oliech to lead the team.

“Oliech is an experienced striker, who has many qualities to help the team progress in the competition. He is an experienced player, who will be very valuable for the team and I am confident he will deliver.

Indeed Oliech has vast experience, having played in the most difficult tournament, the European champions league.

  • We are always making steps to returning to our old selfs the great and most veared gor mayenga …the least of my concerns have always been where we’ve won but the steps we have made in making gor mahia a house hold name and in the continent and the region .and for those reasons I wish to say that football wise we are getting better the future is bright rather in the business form we need to consolidate our selves … congratulations gor mahia on your recent achievement of successive entries in the group stage let’s better the streak at the group matches and that would be progress

If Gor could draw nil nil against Esperance in Machakos and concede only one goal in Tunis despite all the mistreatment then I think Zamalek is not a threat.Have we not played against Everton, Hullcity? Gor has all the experience needed to win these matches no cause for alarm. May the Almighty God grant us victory on 3rd Feb and thereafter. Good luck boys you can do it.Yes we can!!!!!!

We can make it thru to quarters, Mpira hudunda, I just hope AR and Company won’t demoralise the team by their greed resulting to frequent boycotts.
@jasego keep an eye on that Homeboys central defender with deadlocks, his name is IDAH.His ability to initiate moves from the back & his composure is impressive, much better than our central defenders,Having said that I hope the coach will give the duo Momanyi & Joachim much playing time together.

Gor Mahia need Sh35 million to honour their upcoming CCC group stage matches.
They have already sent a distress call to the government to bail them out.

Club chairman Ambrose Rachier says the annual Sh66 million sponsorship from SportPesa is insufficient for this campaign. The amount services the Sh5.5 million monthly wage bill.

Quarter-finalists will bag Sh35 million and semi-finalists Sh45 million, while the winners pocket Sh125 million and runners 63 million.

Of this 35 million, I want to tell GM EC that the 10 million they need for the first match against Zamalek is with the fans. With aggressive and sly marketing of the Gor Mahia – Zamalek game, a cool 12 million can be raised and out of this 10 million can still survive the EC greed.

The pooling of K’Ogalo with Zamalek and Petro Atletico is not only a blessing in disguise, but a huge goldmine. Who would not want to come and watch Dennis Oliech against Zamalek? Serious marketing that capitalizes on Oliech and our history with Zamalek is the antidote to moving around with a begging bowl. … and that marketing should begin today. The EC should be on an aggressive marketing offensive through electronic, print, social media and even billboards with a message that reaches far beyond K’Ogalo fan with a false beard to attract that neutral football fan

BFB I agree with you the money is with the fans but then it depends on the venue and timing of the matches. Kasarani at night for many is beyond reach. Nyayo would have been the place any day any time but now where is Nyayo!!!

True, JTGJ. However, all our home matches are on Sunday at 3 p.m. Kasarani is therefore accessible. We don’t have any midweek home matches that would be played at night.

Somebody tell Kerr to leave us alone, we don’t need his unwelcome advice. Muguna and Guikan have been dropped from the squad and won’t play in Dar.This serves them right indiscipline cannot be tolerated in the team. Their agent must now be scratching his head on the next move.
