Gor Mahia overcome mailmen

Playing perhaps their best game of the season, Gor Mahia overcame Posta Rangers 1-0. In front of their partisan fans, many clad in the new club jerseys, the Kogalo youngstars did not dissapoint.
The all important goal came in the 10th minute via George ‘Blackberry’ Odhiambo. It was his second of the season. After a patchy start, Blackberry seems to be regaining last seasons form. The match also signalled the return of Camerounian Baldwin Ngwa who came on as a second half substitute and played an excellent game. Also returning was dependable full back, Chris Wekesa.
Matchwise, Gor Mahia dominated the first half. In the second half they faced a torrent of pressure. Kogalo fans will be thankful to keeper Jerim Onyango and the Kogalo defence for staving off the mailmen.
Gor Mahia are now perched in fourth position which will likely change after Sunday’s matches. Next up is Red Berets whom Kogalo will confront at Afraha stadium.
