Gor Mahia players dominate FOYA nominations

As is the case each year, Gor Mahia has the most nominations in the annual Footballer of the year awards. Gor Mahia has players in each category: Musa Mohammed, Michael Olunga, defenders Karim Nizigiyimana and Harun Shakava, Meddie Kagere, Khalid Aucho, Collins Okoth as well as goalkeeper Boniface Oluoch are all in the run in for top accolades in the preliminary list that has eight players in every category.

The topmost category is the mopst valuable player award that comes with a Ksh 1 million prize. Michael Olunga  and Karim Nizigiyimana have been nominated. They will battle it out with Jesse Were (Tusker), David King’atua (Bandari), Bernard Mang’oli (AFC Leopards) and Gambian striker Ebrimma Sanneh (Nairobi City Stars).

It is refreshing to note  that Nizigiyimana is a defender yet his performance have been noted. Aside from being a solid defender, the Burundian has been a key component of Gor Mahia’s fluid record setting attack. He leads the club in assists and likely leads the league. His inch perfect crosses are reminiscent of the legendary Sammy Onyango “Jogoo”.

Michael Olunga may be second in the KPL scorers chart. But he has scored more goals in all competitions than anyone else. This includes superb performances for the national team (U23 and senior team).

Previous winners of the award were George Odhiambo “Blackberry” in 2010 and Dan Sserunkuma in 2012. Last season, most observers thought Gor Mahia midfielder Geoffrey Kizito deserved the award but he inexplicably lost to Ekaliani Ndolo of Sofapaka.

Coach Frank Nuttall has been nominated for the coach of the year award. This is an award he should win with no difficultly considering that he has taken the club through an entire season without losing. Tactically, Nuttall has been brilliant; Adapting his tactics to the present situation and creating a dynamic offense that scored 60 goals in the league. Zdravko Logarusic was the last Gor Mahia coach to win. That was in 2012.

All the best let the deserved player in any given department Win.

Its only two months remaining before gormahia starts CAF journey n as usual our target is Quarter final stage .but sadly There is no information from gor office on what they doing now to get funds for This journey coz its very expensive sadly the Will wait last minute n start running up n down n Say There is no fund Fkf n statehouse saidia sisi of course u Will be assisted once n told Next round jipange This Is what for manu years has delayed gormahia from doing well in CAF. We cant rely on Fkf because all the Guys who want to run for This fkf post none of them has promised to assist gormahia get sponsor or sponsor gormahia during CAF 2016 even the government may not sponsor gormahia in CAf though gormahia Will be carrying kenyan flag.

Gor office should urgently fix or renew the contacts(contracts) of players whose contracts lapsed like walusimbi. Apply for passport of innocent wafula n identify areas or department they would like to strengthen n fill using local based players coz already we have enough foreign players n we should not loose even one. Gor should embark on getting multiple sponsor n This time round rachier should prepare a contract That allows multiple sponsor coming on board n we dont want gor dragged to court every time

To get sponsor gor mahia office should follow this approach
    a. Get Raila on board n request him to talk to keroche breweries, since the Md is personal friend of raila they Can easily agree on how much she can give to gor n keroche get branded in gor jersey. Raila is a long time friend of owner AZAM chain of businesses n they Can easily agree n sponsor gormahia. Again raila can assist gor get support from multbillionaire mombasa businessmen like jaffer.hussein mohamed.owners mombasa enroute buses.

    b. Get kalonzo on board. Kalonzo boast extensive networks with asians n gor can easily get shirt sponsor with kalonzo talking to Chandaria. Associated steal ltd-ramco.orbit engineering n asian banks. Also kalonzo can easily get a chinese company to sponsor for

    C. Talk to GIdeon moi .Gideon has vast interest in transport.manufacturing.banks n agriculture n can sponsor for

    d. Talk to Governor Isaac ruto n henry kosgei ‘ Isaac ruto n henry kosgei own many acres of tea plantation in kericho county n nandi county also kosgei is majority shareholder in rea vipingo n sasini companies.

    E. Talk to governor HAssan joho. Joho has extensive networks in dubai.oman.turkey.south arabia n he can easily connect gormahia with multibillionaire is évident how is able to get sponsor for mombasa county

Please bloggers by doing This am not begging all i want is gormahia to get funds to facilitate participating in Caf. Buy land n build a stadium with complex to act as guest house.gym n swimming pools. Develop gor academies in nyanza.western.coast.nairobi.riftvalkey.eastern n pay well players like north African countries
Also am not entertaining politics but look bigger picture of financial sustainability n stability of gormahia as a club

Good write-up. I think Kogalo should continue pursiong sponsors. But in the end, we the fans will be the ones to sponsor the team via the paybill # and other avenues. Also the club should try as much as possible to remain politically neutral
