Gor Mahia treasurer Sally Bolo has released the gate collection numbers via her social media pages:

1. Number of tickets printed:
(a) Main Stand 2,500
(b) Terraces 7,500
2. The number of tickets returned
(c) Main stand 2,200
(d) Terraces 5,380
3. Tickets sold
(e) Main Stand 300 x 600 = 180,000.00
(f) Terraces 2,120 x 200 = 424,000.00
Total revenue collected = 604,000.00

Regards
Sally Bolo
TREASURER

Judith Nyangi disputes those figures

Immediately after the figures were announced, organizing secretary Judith Nyangi disputed the figures, stating that the number was too low.

“I was expecting a considerable amount. However, to my shock a figure of 600,000 was announced. What happened in Kisumu was not right. The club should not collect that kind of money in Kisumu considering the attendance that was witnessed in that match. Kisumu was full. The Club should collect a minimum of two million shillings in Kisumu.” she said to Kenyanstar.

Nyangi further went on to fault the manner in which tickets are printed and also revisited the issue of stewards.

“If you are a treasurer, then you want to print your own tickets, bring your own ticketing firm and select your own stewards, then how transparent can the process be? That is unacceptable. We gave them space to handle the tickets, and hoped that they would deliver. That did not happen.”

Earlier this year, Nyangi had fired all the existing stewards while claiming that hiring of stewards was in her docket as Organizing secretary. This resulted in a fracas at the club’s office when the fired stewards stormed the office raining blows on certain officials.

She further explained the issue in a post on her social media pages.

My fellow fans when I was elected I disbanded stewards but somebody reinstated them
The firm that used to do ticketing was sent away
Which firm did ticketing and who is the owner
Who was in charge of appointing security
Who appointed stewards
I travelled with the team and came back with the team to and fro
Siasa ziliisha wacheni mambo ya camps
Hii Gor Mahia ndio yetu
Sitasimama maovu yakitazama
#WanGorEmawahero

Nyangi, then laid blame on a section of the club’s management saying that the match logistics in Kisumu were a ‘one-man show’.

“The office of the treasurer cannot handle everything. I was surprised when I was told to keep off all matters that pertained logistics ahead of the match.  I wished to travel early but I was not facilitated. I only traveled with the team, was part of the pre-match briefing and returned with them. Everything else that happened, went on behind my back. We gave them space to handle and wished them well, but what happened was a disappointment” Nyangi continued to Kenyanstar.

Nyangi then challenged the club Chairman Ambrose Rachier to call a meeting in order to resolve these urgent issues.

“If we had worked together, these loopholes that are being referred to would have been sealed early meeting. I am not trying to shift blame, but this is probably a pointer that the chairman should summon the entire committee, bring us together and have each team member assigned very clear roles,” she added.

Musa Praises coach

Gor Mahia skipper Musa Mohamed has credited coach Ze Maria for the success the team has achieved thus far.

“There is more team work than was witnessed during the previous season and it’s all because that’s what the Coach is instilling in us. In the first place it was not easy” he said to Citizen Sports

He also noted that having a full pre-season with the coach has enabled the team to adapt better to the coach’s tactics.

“He came mid-season so readjusting was another challenge but starting with him feels a whole lot easier,” Musa told Citizen Digital

  • Nyangi has a point here,at least we now have an official who is bold enough to question transparency levels in Gor.Bolo must now wake up remember that Gor is not an individuals entity, pesa ya Gor sio ya mamake.640000 is surely below what should be got in Kisumu which has more fans than even Nairobi.Keep it up Nyangi we are behind you.Let sally tell us the truth hatutaki wezi hapa Gor.

This are Rachiers friends who fight competitors when challenged.
Rachier, you promised to start working from day one when re- elected, you have gone back to yourself. I will not be surprised to see you again actively when elections are high.
I don’t blame these ladies or the EC but entirely to stupid, stomach controlled fellows who vote for mere 2000/- for their own sake.
Ask yourselves why we can not run the club professionally. Have a club CEO( don’t tell me Aduda) who is here nor there, a club marketing and liaison person’ a finance department which isnot controlled by the treasurer????
And you will still elect them!
What value does the like of John less add to the club? No one would think of Tobias Ocholla, peter Dawo or even Austin Oduor as persons who would bring respect and sanity to the club.
Amkeni name muache kuchaguana name matumbo zenu. So disgusted!

  • I would like to get an assurance from Jokisumu that only 2420 fans attended the match.
Assure me that this has only happened once and will never reoccur.
Assure me that by keeping quiet simply because we beat Mwendwa Sharks and Jokericho, we should be happy grateful sycophants of this corrupt management.
When you see sponsors pulling out, never question their commitment towards supporting Kogallo. We regard Kogallo as a place where we take refuge away from the traditional corrupt atmosphere of our counties and country. Now that this is happening here as well, where next?

Nyangi, did GM fly to/from kisumu or travel by road? What allowance did you miss out on if team flew! Who told you that as Org.Sec you will handle anything to do with money in GM? That is the work of the treasurer, if she needs assistance she will request for it! Well done Bollo, figures for 1 home game out, 14 games to go! Now let EC as a whole seal any loopholes identified. @DO as usual please provide us with the link when releasing such a hot potato. Surprise! Surprise! Not really this is what has been going on for +8 years of Hayatou’s elder brothers chairmanship no structures, keep them busy squabbling over hundreds of thousands so that they don’t question the sponsorship/transfer millions. Yani DIVIDE & RULE, DELIBERATE CHAOS, NO STRUCTURES MEANS ONLY ONE PERSON CAN MANAGE AND DOES MANAGE GM.

When I first read the report on the gate collections my immediate reaction was”Kisumians Utimre nade” The interpretation would mean that Gor does not have a following in Kisumu which is quite to the contrary. The other aspect is lack of financial accountability and also many people getting in without paying. It can also mean that there were fake tickets that were used to usher people in. Kisumu is the bedrock for K’Ogalo and it is a place where maximum support in attendance and gate collection is usually experienced. It is an insult to our intelligence and mind of reason as well as an eyesore. Consider the delay in starting of the league and being the first home game. People planned to attend and pay and not free entry. The office must therefore be put to task this early so that they do not repeat this. If it was complacency in how the planning was done then it must not be allowed again. If some one is sleeping on the job at this time, they must be woken up immediately.

  • Nyangi you’re a big joke, please spare us the drama. Ati our revered Mugabe should call for a meeting! I thought one of the first undertakings of the elected bloated EC was to set-up a schedule (with strict rules for attendance/penalties for absentism) of when EC meetings will be held, should be weekly but at the very least fortnightly complete with required quorum, with decisions binding on all members. Si tuko na 3 vice chairmen. Ati clear roles kwani EC has never met? Do you guys even know the club’s financial status? Have you even seen the club’s audited accounts? One of the conditions to vie for a position in GM’s EC should be an individual guarantee to underwrite the HUGE DEBTS.

Nyangi could be right on this matter. Something is not adding up at all that only 2,410 fans paid and watched the match!!!! Bolo you are the Treasurer and we need to see openness, transparency and accountability regarding managing of Gor Mahia financial affairs. Why can’t running of gate collection and match logistics be outsourced? Can we recruit anonymous personnel to do headcounts on both main stand and terraces? Can we engage the services of smart card companies with security controls at the entry points?

Are some bunch of officials involved in printing of their own tickets, which are sold in advance and proceeds pocketed?

Collection of Kshs.640,000 is too low as compared to the large number of fans that watched the match unless we have bottomless pocket. At least if the amount was double of Kshs.640,000 that is Kshs.1.28 million then we can understand but still too low.

Why can’t KAPS be hired to offer various automated systems for issuing tickets for stadia, season tickets and any other official events. The KAPS system can be used in stadiums as an official ticketing agent for the entrance charges to the stadium. The objective of this service can go in a long way for the revenue control, maximization of revenue collection, security and access control function for all Gor Mahia home matches.

Bloggers watch this space and after Western Stima match on 1st April 2017, you will hear that Stima will be smiling all the way to the bank with a huge collection of about Kshs.3 million plus.

Unless a half of the fans got free entry into the Stadium and I can rest my case.

  • Although I haven’t seen these ladies, my take,

    – There is a leadership vacuum at kogalo
    – Ec members do not understand their Job descriptions.
    – It is a looting spree hence the squabbles
    – Nyangi is too illiterate to be an official at Kogallo
    – I don’t know about the figures, but at least Bolo tried to publish something.
    – No sponsor will entertain this nonsense. No wonder crown pulled out.
    – Thorough beating ndio dawa hapa mbele.
    – I said countless times that nyangi being arrogant, drunkard and illiterate ( not my words) she is only good at posting photos of players going for friendlies and posting petty issues like ottimax smelling alcohal.
    – Could it have been a deal gone sour? This Nyangi must be so iddle. She is all over.

Otherwise the usual sycophants branch or are they the positive energy branch ? should stop implying that as long as gor wins matches, no one should question Mugabe’s lack of leadership.

  • And worse still, the sofaset branch might have to wait longer as the stalemate between supersport and kpl leads to the broadcaster suspending live coverage of kpl matches. Go to the stadium physically and pay gate dues for the corrupt in the name of EC to prevail on. We might wait longer for resumption of live matches. They intentionally cancelled live match roster that would have seen them bring live gor/zoo match and the thika stadium double headers and are hinting at switch off more matches.

    Shida tupu,plse can someone tell chairman to streamline GM wage bill,why should you pay someone 150000/= or so per month then daily training allowance of 500/= plus wining allowance 5000/=,then u have like 29players TB of 8pple. my simple arithmetic is this;
1.26players with salaries and winning allowance. Have saved 75000/= a week on training allowance.
2.TB 6pple with salaries and winning allowance. Have saved 12000/= a week on training excluding there
    salaries.
3.5EC the rest or 6EC will go home there will save on there sitting allowance 120000/= per month.

Then GM will get another kes.118m penalty payable not by Mugabe but by GMFC. Its foolhardy for anyone to think they can keep Gor Mahia affairs secret, you can’t not from FIFA,KRA,fans etc.MUGABE MUST PRODUCE GMFC’s UP DATED TAX COMPLIANCE CERTIFICATE. Things simply don’t add up e.g this nonsense of not paying office rent for 4.5 years, more than half of Mugabe’s tenure. CHUNGA HIZI “HUGE DEBTS” MAY JUST BE A PREPARATION FOR BANKRUPTCY!
