Gor Mahia sign Abbey from Muhoroni

Tusker Premier League (TPL) giants Gor Mahia have sealed the swoop for Muhoroni Youth striker Abbey Natty Kunrunmi, an official at the club who asked not to be named has confirmed to futaa.com.
According to the official, the player, recently feted as the country’s elite league’s best new player in the 2012 season, has already signed a two – year deal at the team and will be among the players to do duty for the club in the Confederations Cup in 2013.

-Gor Mahia has signed Abbey on a two year deal and the player’s name is even among the names to be fronted to CAF for the continental games. He signed on Sunday 16 December, the official said.
Abbey joined Muhoroni Youth FC from Ligi Ndogo during the 2012 midseason break and the speedy Nigerian proved an instant hit with the TPL rookies.
The player was, however, unreachable for confirmation of the same.
This is a good signing…to compliment what we already have upfront!However,what is the position of the coach?we really don’t have time on our side.We must put structures in place ASAP as the new season is fast approaching!!!

Thought signing a player is pretty straight forward business.
Coach Zdravko Logarusic will be back

Gor Mahia coach Zdravko Logarusic is expected back for the pre season training ahead of the New Year. The club’s players are currently on an off season break and are expected back in camp on 27th of December to commence pre season training that will also include friendly matches in Kakamega, Kisumu, Mombasa and Nairobi.
Gor Mahia will be representing Kenya in next year’s CAF Confederations Cup where they have been drawn against Reunion from Seychelles in the first round to be played mid February 2013.
The coach is currently in Croatian for the festive holidays and before his departure he said he is yet to agree with Gor Mahia on new terms for the next season raising speculation over his unlikely return.
Gor Mahia secretary General George Bwana has however confirmed that all is well with the coach who has been in constant communication with the team officials and that Gor Mahia has agreed to improve his personal terms that could see him become the best paid coach in the Kenyan league.
“We have had a good year and we thank the coach who has been very instrumental to our good success in 2012.Logarusic is a good coach and his performance speaks volumes.” He says.
“We believe that we can achieve a lot together with him and that the combination of our executive office, good playing unit, quality technical bench urged on by our loyal passionate fans will propel us to greater heights especially now that we will also be taking part in continental football.”
Bwana adds that “Any good performing coach deserves review on his package and it was important that we also look into his terms to make him comfortable when he comes back for the new season.”
Logarusic’s one year contract with the Kenyan Cup champions expires in April 2013. He guided Gor Mahia to a second place finish missing the league title that was retained by Tusker on 60 points one ahead of Gor.
Logarusic joined Gor Mahia in April last year after the sacking of Cameroonian Coach Anaba Awono and his assistant Ken Odhiambo at a time when the club was struggling for survival in the league.

@ 3- ODUOR12 – that is good news. Again I echo your sentiments at 2 on signing issue coz why should official hide when he’s doing the right thing or is he signing illegally?
But according to CAF Loga is not qualified to coach Gor in the CAF competition because he has no CAF certificate, nor does Bobby have one.
@5 Dan – there is no problem as this certification only takes 5 days. It is doable. In fact I saw that among coaches with CAF certification, Zico is in the list but it was done for 5 days in 2011. Let Logarusic to to Tz to do this course for a week and get this certificate immediately.
@Dan dont wory Loga Can coach using skype like he did to mashemeji, these signings if done on the coaches instruction then ok if not then its going to be a disaster…the debacle of last season where officials made the signings without the coaches involvement is still fresh on our minds
I don’t consider that a good signing. We may have all the best strikers in Kenya but without a strong and tactical midfield, we wont go far. We need someone in the midle to help Akumu,someone who can play 90 minutes week in week out. Dady and Pablo are good but non of them can play effectively for 90 minutes.
Whoever is doing the signing shoul look at Olando among others to strengthen that midfield
Good news, Kogalo is bringing on board brazilian player who might combine well with Danny and Rama next season. according to futaa.com, the player will report on first of Jan.
Kahata has rejected Gor Mahia offer since it was not serious,,the good thing is that we are in talks with Kahata,and am happy that Kahata has said he is willing to come to KDF if the offer is improved
Looks like Tusker is doing better recruitment as compared to all other teams. They have raided Sofapaka, Mathare etc to get all the best player.
Rama goes for pro abroad and if succesfull we need to replace him. Will we manage to keep Lavatsa?
So many questions to be answered but I know we always get the best out of ordinary players. We should therefore not be worried about these recruitments
@Mscosweto, That comment on the midfield is so spot on.Its one of the issues i’ve been singing about the whole season.
In fact I think the solution lies in either getting 2 talents from across the border either a Malawian/Ethiopian.We need to very good attacking/ball holding midfielders to create chances/ pull out defenses hence give our strikers more room to finish off moves.Last season our forwards were burdened with the role of both creating chances and finishing- making us a bit predictable.
Ooh Laa la !!! What a confused lot is our EC and Technical bench. Who is calling the shots on this so called recruitment and what are the standard criteria used to justify and assess our immediate needs in terms of gaps and ability?

G. Bwana is simply playing populist politics to buy time with regard to Logarusic terms of engagement. Let’s wait and see if the coach will be available as stated. The new demand of holders with CAF class B certificate will automatically rule him and JBO out of contention if FKF is to maintain the rule to the latter for all TPL clubs. WHATCH THIS SPACE?
FOREIGN PLAYERS
We are back in the same confused circus we had during the last transfer period in 2011.
As far as I know each club is legible to recruit a maximum of 5 foreign players and given
that we have Sserekuma,ANGUYO,Mapunda and most likely Mubiru and may be the Brazilian hype I read from FUTAA. Now you bloggers asking for more foreign players do you have this rule in mind before posting your unrealistic demand based on the rules?

There is no involvement of Logarusic in all this recruitment because the EC has not agreed to his terms of engagement and as such he can not work for free. Let stop cheating ourself,
Our EC with the support of the technical has all it takes to get the best available locally, albeit being careful not to have a blotted squad not worth maintaining financially.

@O’Trailer I think Zdravko Logarusic’s one year contract with Gor Mahia runs till April 2013. He is for that matter expected to maintain charge upto and until then. I therefore want to believe that he is closely monitoring and directing the recruitments currently underway from his remote control base in Croatia.

Gor Mahia coach Zdravko Logarusic is expected in Nairobi on January 2 to start preparing the team for the new season.
According to club secretary George Bwana, Logarusic has communicated his travel details and is expected immediately after the new year.
“We were never in doubt about the position of our coach. He has contract with us, he is a professional and has a commitment to the club. We may have had our little differences but that has been solved and I can assure our fans that Logarusic will be in Nairobi on January 2,” said Bwana.
Bwana said the coach has been in communication with the club and is quite aware of the new players the club is targeting.
Gor ha already signed defender David Otieno who has checks in from Western Stima and goalkeeper Zachary Onyango who joined in from Ethiopia’s Coffee Board. The club is also chasing the signature of sacked Tusker striker Obadia Ndege while Uganda Under 20 defender Israel Egue is also expected to link up with the club. Egue accepted terms when Bwana and assistant coach John Bobby Ogolla went in search for talent in Uganda.
Gor Mahia is also is talks with two other local based midfielders who Bwana refused to disclose their names.
But K’Ogalo’s interest on Thika United’s Francis Kahata seem to have cooled due to the player’s demands. The talks collapsed after the player demanded for Sh 1 million sign on fee.
“We would love to sign the player but his demands are so high,” said Bwana.
