Gor Mahia sign future prospect Castro Ogendo
Castro Ogendo, a student at Kenyatta University has been signed by Kogalo on a four year deal. Ogendo is 20 years old and is highly rated. However team manager Jolawi Obondo said that young Castro will have a tough time breaking into the first team immediately.
“Yes, we have signed Ogendo, from Kenyatta University, he is a talented young lad who we want to groom and see if he can be of help in the future. We are still committed to developing players who shall take over in the near future, and Castro is one of them.” said Obondo to goal.com
Gor Mahia were also pursuing Allan Wanga of Kakamega Homeboyz, Sony Sugar’s goalkeeper Kevin Omondi, striker Erick Ombija of Coast Stima.
Ivorian Ephrem Guikan who was among Kogalo’s leading scorers this season despite limited playing opportunuties, is said to be leaving the club. He is one of the players whom coach Kerr has identified as surplus to his needs. Yesterday Guikan posted a message on his social media pages thanking chairman Rachier and wishing him success in the future.
The report on goal.com suggests that Gor Mahia want to replace him with either Burundian Caleb Bimenyimana of Rayon Sports or Ugandan Irissa Ssekisumba.
How many highly rated players have we signed, benched then released in the next transfer window? Kopany, Okiro, Roy Okal, Joel Bataro, Jeconiah Uyoga, Eliud Lokuwam, Calabar Junior, Balotieno, James Ogada, Maqbul …….and the list continues. Add to this list this unfortunate young men Castro and Ombija…….
If you have to sign them up so that they are not signed up by another team why not send them out on loan and monitor them thoroughly with a view to incorporating them into the first team if and when they excel..
Erisa Sekisambu signs a two year deal with Gor Mahia.
For me I dont like these cretia of sighing players without coach or chairman ‘s approval besides we have no room for those who dump gormahia with the name of seeking greener paster and after failing to impress gibiro ka gilidho ni gidwaro dwodgo gocho kogalo let it be a lesson to them if you sneek you go for good no turning back…. Let Miguna be the last one remember gormahia will never be a dumping pit for looses who fail trials majuu ok??? I hope my point is well understood
