Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia have handed former Bandari midfielder Shaban Kenga a two year contract.

This was confirmed by the club’s Secretary General George Bwana, who pointed out that they regard the player a valuable asset.

“After intense negotiations, we have finally struck a deal and the player should join us in training when we resume. Kenga is a great player and we are confident his entry will be positive for the team,” said Bwana.

His sentiments were echoed by vice Chairman Faiz Magak, who, also noted that they are still talking to more players.

“I talked with the player some days ago and he assured me that he will be coming to Gor Mahia. I am glad that we have finally gotten him on board. We are planning on getting a few more players on the team. We shall soon call for a press conference to make public the names of the players we have settled on,” said Magak.

Kenga, who netted a total of five goals, was named the runners Player of the Year at the 2013 Kenyan Premier League Player of the Year Awards.

He is highly-regarded for assisting the Bandari finish in sixth place.

Rama Salim

Rama Salim has returned to his former club Gor Mahia on a six month loan deal from second tier Qatari side Al Makhiya.

Rama who has been unsettled since joining the gulf side comes in handy for Gor as they prepare to play in the Caf Champions League .

A source at Gor intimated to supersport.com the new development, “we are glad to have Rama back at the team after consultations with his club. We have taken him back on a six month loan deal and we are happy to have presented his name to Caf for registration ahead of our continental assignments. Rama will be a big boost to the team as he has knows the players very well.”

Rama played an important role at K’Ogalo before moving to Qatar where he was suspended for two months following a brawl with a teammate.

The player has been unhappy and following his return back home had been training with Gor.

@Fred it seems Faiz wants to be seen as the one who made the first move on the player. What does it tell us about our organisation as a club? It seems at the club its free for all. Anyway enough said with this amateurish set up what matters now is that the lad is on board and he is a good catch coz he is skilled. I believe he is a left handed midfielder meaning we have now Oboya, Kevo, Mutiso & Kenga which means depth on that wing. How i wish we could get a commanding midfielder like Kahata now that Geoffrey “Baba” Kizito of Uganda is in (Refer to Sporton) we shall be home and dry coz good strikers depend on how effective the midfielders are. I think we also need a central defender here to cover for the departed Mosoti and another good goalkeeper.

@Baba Travis Bobby Williamson just found what LOGA had developed. It is long overdue and Rachier should just let him GO. Foreign coaches do come and go and HE should not be an exemption. Yang have been stalking him for quite too long and I do beg him to GO.

Were these players recommended by the TB? Or is it a matter of who gets to so and so faster? How many midfielders do we have at GM now or is it the roller coaster o hire and fire at mid season?

@kassam how many did we release.these are quality players, the two coaches are there,i believe they are doing their work ,why should we make a lot of noise and they are there and again we have not heard any complain from them.if we fail in signing that will be their own fault because they are there when all these deals are sealed.so let us not question everything happening in the team even if the people concerned are there.

  • I dont think that letting BW leave will be a gud Idea. Rem he came to Uganda & won CECAFA 4x consecutively. If we will let BW leave then we should 4get to win CECAFA & TPL bcos we will not compete effectively with the likes of Simba in CECAFA & Efusi, tusker & sofa in TPL. Those who think that the team BW found was 4r Loga shud know that Loga wud not have won the legue with the attitude he had b4 he left. I hope AR will see the need to convince BW to stay at Gor & if possible to give him a longer contract.

I am sure AR would like BW to stay but what if the Yanga deal is too good to be true then we can still get another coach. They are many in Sebia, Croatia, Ukraine, Montenegro, just waiting for a team to coach in Africa

@ michael let the guy go if he is not willing to stay in gormahia. As the say goes coaches come and go but the club will be there forever, yanga are big spenders it is a company for your information if they have decided that they want him let him go because i know he has been shown money that gormahia cant manage to pay him. What we can do is just to wish him well but what i know about the the two tanzanian teams if you don’t win the derby as a coach you are sacked immediately so he might not even finish a year at yanga.secondly this guy i doubt if he can perform in gor mahia this year again as per his last games after clinching the league,He is the type who takes things lightly and sometimes people may take him as if he is not serious especially gor mahia fans who at times want the coach to give them attention .What i can say let the guy go if he is not willing to be at gormahia provided we get a good coach who will ensure there is discipline within the playing unit the team will perform, gor has the most quality players in TPL know if am not wrong.Infact this is the right time to get a coach before the begining of the league so that he can introduce his policies within the team and get used to the players.

  • Let the guy go he will leave us in the middle of the league.we can not match yanga be it in payment of coahes or players they are above us by far. This is the right time to get agood coach and introduce him in the system before the beggining of the league the way some bloggers have said but if we dont do so the guy will obviously leave us and go to the big spenders.@Jakamolo am with you Bob williamson is the type of a coach who will never listen to what fans are saying behind him when he is at the touchline and this will really cost him in gormahia,This because in this our great club sometimes fans want to be heard and you do to them what they want but the guy does not listen to the noise made by the fans.i expirienced that thing on the day we were playing with afc gotv cup when the fans were really complaining about substitution but the guy was not bothered.jakoyugi i think it is just his coaching principle but it cant work in gor mahia with all those hooligans and bhang smokers.

  • There is one by the name Mark Odhiambo from tusker a very good defender Can we go for him? I think he can replace Musoti. I think there is nothing Bob Ogola can learn from BW bcoz of age, i think we can consider recruiting a more younger couch for continuity like Pamzo.
