Gor Mahia sink Rangers

Two first half goals enabled Kogalo to sink league debutants Posta Rangers 2-0 in a match played before a large crowd at the Nairobi city stadium.
Les Camerounais Baldwin Ngwa scored found the back of the net for the 3rd succesive game when he finished off a move involving Blackberry, Ivan Anguyo and Makori after only 7 minutes. The forwardline combination of Blackberry and the hard working Ngwa has been as explosive as dyamite of late. The second goal came from a penalty converted by captain Julius Owino. The penalty resulted when Blackberry who has been a thorn in the flesh of opposing defences lately was fouled.
In the second half the Kogalo defence marshalled by keeper Jerim Onyango stood firm to stave off a series of attacks from Posta Rangers.
The win plus some convenient results from their rivals enabled Kogalo to continue its march up the league standings. They are now second, tied with Tusker on points.

Ko’gallo has been in fabulous form; it is really heartening. The performances of the lads has made people troop to the stadia every other weekend or mid week to savour the wizardry of Zico’s charges. Indeed K’ogallo Nyam Nyam, contrary to perception is winning fans across the tribal divide. The other day, I met an oriental in the city streets donning a Gor Mahia jersy. These days, the Gor Mahia jersy is common place, I only hope the club is benefitting from the sales. Gor Mahia is winning back the English premier league fans who would now rather watch Gor play than sip beer in the bars as they watch the English premier ship. It goes to say how much Ambrose Rachier and team are doing a great job.

I have some advice; Gor can exploit the goodwill to market itself just like the European sides. Blackberry and Ngwa, who have now become hot celebs can even begin to sign autographs. the jersys, scarfs and other merchandise can be a hit and generate funds for Mahia. and even secure a corporate sponsor next season.Go, K’ogallo go!!!!!

I am very much proud of Kogalo and the may Almighty give them strength to move on even though Oguda thought that he was going to contain them by forcing them to play minus four dependable players. If they would have been there we could be talking of 3 and above. Boys you have matured, we love you. it is this time or never

Thanks boys and player number 12, the fans. Both groups have played their parts very well. Lets keep it up and we shall be at the top come the end of the league.I have a feeling already that there is continental competition next year. Next is Berets, who are these. Is it time for revenge? Yes Kogalo 3, Berets 0.

I am a long time fan of Gor Mahia. The only way Gor mahia can succeed in africa at the moment is to become a professional outfit complete with own stadium and club houses.Gor Mahia should be a Company just as other clubs in Europe South America and Africa. Running a club on hand outs from fans is not going to take this club anywhere. Show me any amateur club in Africa that has won the Champions league since its inception.

Am impressed by Gor and for the first time I check KPL fixtures alongside EPL! Am more satisfied watching Man U after cheering K’ogallo at Nyayo or City. The fans are great and I always find myself singing along one of those cheeky tunes… “tayani kithoo piyo mondo wanyamie ng’ato”. LOL. Guyz let’s not get excited. The club has to be managed professionaly to maintain this great form. I bought the club’s jersey’s recently but am not sure if part of that money goes to the club.I’ll like to be assured of this before I buy for all my siblings,my boss and my girlfriend in Mukurueni!

  • I fully agree with KIZITO NYABIGA that Gor Mahia Soccer Club should become a fully professional club with its own stadium & houses so as to compete effectively in the world stage. The management should take full advantage of the large number of fans going back to the stadium because they bring in alot of revenue & that can be a very good starting point. Building a stadium is not beyond the reach of GOR MAHIA. Every achievement starts with a dream. The club can have its own stadium by 2013.
