Gor Mahia still pursuing Sserunkuma move

Talks between Gor Mahia and Dan Sserunkuma, who played for the club until last December are still ongoing. A major stumbling block is the fact that Sserunkuma is demanding that he be paid outstanding dues which are owed to him. This is something club officials say they cannot meet.

“He (Sserunkuma) is demanding to be paid more than Sh300, 000 which they owed him last season but Gor Mahia officials are unable to fulfill this requirement,” said a source to goal.com.

Club official Ronald Ngala confirms that no agreement has been reached with Sserunkuma.

“We agreed with the technical bench that we sit down after our last match of the first leg and evaluate their needs in terms of players before making a final decision on whom to sign or drop and this includes Sserunkuma. We have talked to him but nothing has been agreed.”

If it is indeed true that Gor Mahia owes Sserunkuma 300,000 then the club should pay him his dues out of good faith not as a consequence of him rejoining the team.

First it was Rama Salim and now Sserunkuma denying that he has agreed to rejoin the club.

If the club cannot come up with the money at once then perhaps they can agree on a payment plan where the club pays Sserunkuma his dues over several months. Considering the how much Sserunkuma has been a valuable asset, the club should pay him.

Thika coach claims Kogalo fans intimidate referees

Thika United coach Tim Bryett has hopped on the bandwagon of those claiming that referees are helping Gor Mahia.

“We have seen officiating against Western Stima and Muhoroni Youth at the weekend and know exactly what we are up against. Playing at Kasarani means there is less opportunity for the fans to intimidate match officials and therefore, we can be sure of fair play,” Gor Mahia fans are known to be very vocal especially when decisions don’t go their way but match officials must learn to be strong and fair even with such intimidation.” said Bryett to goal.com

This is likely an attempt to influence the match officials of Monday’s match between Gor Mahia and Thika United.

  • On Danny, if he cant sign a 2 – 3 year contract then he ou ght to b paid his dues. We are in business and last tym we never got any monies from him yet we played a big role in making him. 6 months deal that is nonsense n wont benefit the club in any way.

  • In my view we dont need Danny… We have scored the most goals in the league and our striking force is the sharpest… Danny coming will just distort the partnership btw Olunga and Kagere. If a machine is working dont fix it.

2nd point is that when players leave us even if they are prolific, we need to wish them well and move on. Remember when they go they only think about themselves. i remember Rama left when we really needed a striker, Dan almost left when last season was entering the final leg, when we needed him the most only for the chairman to plead with him. Now when they fail wherever they go they know their place is still guaranteed at Gor. This must stop… let players know when they go, the club moves on otherwise we demoralize the players that remain behind

    • GOR MAHIA SIO CHOO where you just go anytime you want to do your thing and leave as you want.
There are so many strikers better than him around East and Central Africa. EC should consult with the TB and scout well.

Though his dues must be paid to avoid the consequence which may come if he decide to use other avenues to claim it.

  • (1)For both Danny and Rama if they can’t sign contract for two years and above then there is no need for Club resigned them.
    (2) I can’t understand why Coaches has the notion that Gor is being helped but when Gor is denied a Penalty like Walusimbi was fouled in D area. I have never heard any Coach talking of that, even Olunga was fouled just outside the Box no whistle for free kick was called?

This Thika coach is behaving as if he owns Thika United; as if he will never ever leave that club and seek for employment with Gor Mahia. Reminds me of a foolish thing by CR7 against Pep in the days Pep was in charge of Barcelona. Differences in sports are bound to be there, however, they should not be made to be so personal. I want to put my eyes and see how far this Bryett guy will go with that Thika of his.
