Gor Mahia take on Sofapaka
Defending champions Gor Mahia will face an acid test when they take on Sofapaka on Saturday at City stadium in a Tusker premier league match. Gor Mahia will be hoping to continue their recent form that has seen them climb to the top of the league standings.
The players have done an excellent job of not letting the club’s financial troubles get in the way of their performance on the field. Gor Mahia fans will be hoping their excellent performance continues and will show up in large numbers to cheer the team.
But Sofapaka have been having troubles of their own and the players recently threatened to boycott the match. Nevertheless Sofapaka are no pushovers. The last time these two teams met, it was in the Charity cup and Sofapaka emerged victorious.

Striker Enock Agwanda is the top scorer in the league at the moment and is one player Gor Mahia will have to adequately plan for.

At the centre in the game will be referee Raphael Nduati who hails from the Aberdares region. Nduati will be assisted by Jubaal Mwandawiro from Voi as the first assistant referee then Mike Mwangi from Nairobi will be the second assistant.
