Gor Mahia take on Thika next

Eric Ochieng in action against Thika early this year

Gor Mahia will be hoping to continue their recent string of wins when they take on Thika United next. The match will be played at Thika municipal stadium on Wednesday October 16.

The last time these two teams met, it was in the GoTV shield;  Gor Mahia comprehensively outplayed Thika and emerged 2-0 winners. Kogalo fans will be hoping for more of the same.

Assistant coach Bobby Ogolla is wary of the Thika Threat.  “Thika have proved to be one of the best teams in the league with an admirable style of play. Having played them before we are aware of what to expect. Last year they spoilt the party for us when we were sure of lifting the title and we will not take anything lightly this time round.”

“The players are more mature and experienced with a particular aim of winning the title. It therefore calls for us to keep all the concentration not only against Thika but all the remaining five fixtures.”Said Ogolla to michezoafrika.com.

Last time it was Patrick Oboya who gave Thika United nightmares. With Oboya still injured, Gor Mahia will be counting on Dan Sserunkuma to continue his recent devatstating form as well as Lavatsa, Wanyoyi and Kevin Omondi all of whom have been sensational of late.

I hope the football fraternity have now accepted that FKF is the supreme soccer authority in Kenya. This is evidenced by the fact that the FKF organized Gotv shield has pushed the obviously more prestigious KPL organized TPL from the prime spot both in terms of weekend allocation & SSport live coverage. TPL pushed 2 midweek games.
Oboya’s injury seems 2 b recurring/serious. Hope its not career threathening.

  • sincerely hope that gor goes for the kill in this game and not merely to survive. this is in view of the coming africa arena incase gor wins the league. even though i will not expect much in the african arena after the long lay-off, the best way gor can prepare in these matches is how well they build their character while playing and winning against teams like tusker, ulinzi et sofapaka. that some players still luck maturity in the africa arena will be clearly visible. in mind is basically what happened to ethiopia while playing nigeria. in a match they could have won they went for showbiz and with the nigerian experience it was only a matter of time. same thing happened to kenya agains the same opponents. but if gor simply plays for participation then i guess there not be match to talk about. however i congratulate gor at this stage on what they have been able to achieve, two time runners up and now going for the trophy and with a good margin, that shows improvement. i expect the same scenario on the african arena… actually, let me confine this to e and central.

I wish our boys all the best, i pray that our good Lord, Obong’o nyakalaga will give us victory.

On a lighter note please mr. administrator, give Le pastre a job. I guess he has tried to impress and even talked loudly through his most recent postings by adressing you on issues that, personally, i think are valid. Managing editor, Chief editor or anything close to that, ama niaje wazee?

ALLOW ME 2 HUMBLY PROPOSE GM’S MISSION
1.TO SCORE 3 GOALS PER GAME & PLAY ENTERTAINING SOCCER. B.MUCHEN, BARCELONA ETC SYTLE, WE SHLD ALWAYS PUT FOOTBALL FIRST-PFF
2.GUARANTEE MATCH SECURITY SO THAT IN EVERY HOME MATCH ATTENDANCE OF AT LEAST 15,OOO IS GAURANTEED.
IF WE ACHIEVE THESE IN THAT ORDER THEN THE REST WILL SURELY FOLLOW.
SO ALL THE GM FRATERNITY SHLD INTERNALIZE THIS, WITH THE CARDINAL/UTMOST RESPONSIBILITY FALLING ON MEMBERS

  • I do agree with Dinga that k’ogalo should now use the remaining matches to prepare 4r the African champions league bcos I believe that gini waseekao & we need 2 rule Kenya first b4 we can be able to win against the big african giants like tp mazembe, alhilal to mention just a few.But if we just struggle to beat small teams like thika Bcos thika utd is still a small team then I will just say that we r not ready for africa .All the best K’ogalo against thika utd.

I feel that entertaining soccer with goals will bring bigger crowds back 2 our games. GM as the CECAFA CHAMPS IS A BIGGER SELL.
With the attraction we must gaurantee security. Areas not popular with diehards e.g behind the goals can be set aside as family sections etc.
The effect of 15,000 fans- 1,500 VIP paying 450each=sh.675,000 plus 13,500fans paying 150each=sh.2,025,000 to give a total of min. shs.2.7M per home. Min gate collections 4 the 15 games will b 40.5M.

a well managed membership of even 2000( that’s a mere 43 persons per county) contributing only sh.50/month/600per year will realize shs.1.2M/year in membership fee. No this is a task or target that can be given to the fulltime secretariat/CEO. If the membership grows 2 20K,then Sh.1.2M bcomes 12M.
That means GM has a REALISTIC potential to raise btw sh.41.5M-52.5M next season. LET’S REMEMBER THAT
    .
With this base GM cn sign best players, give TB long term contracts & even build its own stadium.

Wishing K’Ogalo all the best as they face the ever stubborn “KAMAU BOYS” at their backyard. Personally I know GOR beating THIKA will just confirm them as the champions in waiting especially if FKF appeal committee decision goes our way. But this being football , i will ready for any kind of result.
@The villager, I hereby kindly accept your apology on the previous edition and on behalf our fellow bloggers i hope both you and @Le Pastre will meet at THIKA and join hands in supporting K’Ogalo.
Yesterday this blogsite was infected with a very chronic “BIPOLAR DISORDER” and the symptoms of “MANIA” or “HYPOMANIA” was very much evident with a lot of agitating and irritating comments.
@ La Pastre in your previous I noticed that you were blaming me for trying to injure your reputation where as my take was to bring truce and peace between you and the rest of offended but highly esteemed bloggers like @ The Villager.

Please @ comrade Le Pastre do not try to create some misconception with the name JABILO and compare it with the ” BLACK MAGIC”. I choose the name JABILO to be in tandem with the very origin and wonders that are associated with GOR MAHIA f.c. and this I noticed at your very own backyard in KALOLENI estate while your family used offer home laundry services for GOR MAHIA . And to be precise if their anybody who is acquainted with BLACK MAGIC and has confessed on this blog to be very closely related to the late
“OCHIDO” (R.I.P) is non other yourself. I do not need to elaborate, but between the two of us you know what am talking about. GOR MAHIA is not “Black Mamba” or “KALOLENI WANDERERS” but K’Ogalo MAHONO where people from all walks of life find time to socialize and appreciate it existence. Just swallow your personal pride and we move on.

With those few remarks , please learn how to gel with new generation of K’Ogalo bloggers since they ate part and parcel of the family and no amount of yapping with too much “GRANDIOSE THINKING”

  • Hahahahahaha Jabilo, I’m not all that old and you don’t know who I am as you may want people to believe! You will do no worse than to admit that you’re fighting to remain relevant. I have read your hit and miss post and I would like to advise thus:- In your subsequent posts, please try and stick to the language that you understand best or familiar with. Your post may have been understood had it not been done in directly translated language. Thinking in Luo and translated in English. This makes your post appear flowery not knowing that the original meaning/intention of the thinker is lost in the translation. I had to summon a lot of my mental resources in trying to understand wht some parts of your post meant. I’ve always been a Pastor as the name suggests and trying to associate me with black magic will not wash. This is just one of the many instances where a blogger failed to understand my article. Jabilo you cannot use a posting whose contents you never understood in the first place as your reference point. I come from Kanyamwa- Kona Kobodo to be precise, the home of Gor Mahia but I have never practised witchcraft. The fact that I knew the late Ochido through his son who was 3 classes behind me in school doesn’t mean that I used to or still live in Kaloleni. We were both boarders in a school whose name shall not be mentioned her. Knowing Ochido and the many gallant sons of Gor Mahia then as is now was part of our growing up. I really enjoyed growing up in East-lands. I may have offered laundry services to Gor Mahia then, but it was out of my love for the club. The Club in those days didn’t have any form of financial sponsorships and couldn’t afford even money for dry cleaning. In short the club was suffering from what we call in Banking Terms- Pecuniary Embarrassment. Jabilo, if you know the blogger- Pod Antie, contact him for we come along way with him. He knows me very well. Don’t ever throw stones if you live in a Glass house. I have been provoked by Jabilo and so I deserve the right of reply.. Good luck Gor Mahia.

Well done boys. We wanted to finish this thing with like four matches to go so that we can use the reserve players for the rest of the campaign and hopefully bounce back for the GOtv final which I pray we beat SONY and Ingwe beat Sofapaka. What a final that would be. Mouthwatering with Ingwe having all to lose

@ODUOR12 are you by any chance the Adede who wants the Gor Chair? As the team is focussed on winning trophies both of you are on the election agenda. Please let’s pull in one direction and that should be to get the double, reward the players and all will be well in the end. I can assure you that if it was Ingwe demolishing everyone on site as we are doing you would have been reading of so and so offering the team this hundreds of thousands of shillings for the job well done. That is Sonko style. Can’t these prospective candidates stand up to be counted now by rewarding the boys without destabilising the team? As it is the EC we are admonishing is actually delivering while the others are on the sides printing t-shirts while campaigning. We don’t have to wait for the league to end to reward these players and TB. By the way what happened to the Mpesa account?
