Gor Mahia take on Western Stima

Gor Mahia hope to continue their climb up the KPL table when they play Western Stima at Moi stadium Kisumu on Sunday. The Lakeside venue is proving to be a good hunting ground for Kogalo. Last weekend, Gor Mahia played the best football they have played this season. Fans finally got to see the “Samba Touch” that tactician Ze Maria has been installing.

The Power men could prove to be tough nut to crack. They are currently in 7th place with 18 points, only two behind Gor Mahia. And exactly one year ago, these two teams met at the same venue. That match ended in a 0-0 draw. Gor Mahia won the second leg match 1-0.

Stima’s last match was on May 9 and ended in a 2-2 draw with Mathare. Stima were disappointed at giving up a two goal lead but coach Henry Omino is determined to make amends on Sunday.

“It is eleven against eleven and if we play as we did last weekend, we shall definitely win, that I am sure. We should just be industrious on the pitch and ensure we do not make silly mistakes.” he said to goal.com

Gor Mahia for their part warmed up for their weekend match by beating Jericho All Stars 2-0 at Camp Toyoyo. The goals were scored by Khalid Aucho and Innocent Wafula.

  • Surely Ochomo? We should think outside the box. Kagere is not the only good player we can possibly get.

Currently Ze Maria has singled out Ochomo and Johanna as the players he wants. Hao wengine kama Kagere are wanted by the fans and the EC. So who knows better? The fans/EC or the coach?

I stated here awhile that Ochomo is the player to go for currently considering our offensive mixups. As much as he might not perform better than Olunga/Kagere he will give JaUsenge the partnership required upfront. And being local I don’t think we can pay more than 1.5m knowing how astute a businessman Adagala is

    • Maoni Yangu, why to try out a striker tested and proven at K’galo. None than Dan “Flava” Ssrenkuma, he who renders nonsense the height hulabaloo. Other than him i also favour Johanna, Lwanda Magere and lastly P Were for whom, like Keli, GM was never their first choice, Food for thought to those castigating Lwanda Magere & co should also be reminded of the ‘Prodigal Son’. Just thinking aloud the buck stops with Ze Maria. FN raised the bar quite a bit in terms of achievements, All The Best K’galo Wuon Timbe

  • @ Dan,I will be really amazed if Ze Maria wants Ochomo since with the current team technical team set-up,tuyisenge requires a dry going partner who can hold the ball and draw defenders and also give the final pass so he can poach the box & vice versa.A typical number 10 in other words not ochomo a running number 9 best suited for Power Play like in Muhoroni that has enabled him score 9 goals. You saw how our tactics formation easily pocketed him lady Saturday plus Ze Maria believes in playing 10 men I front of the ball while attacking and likewise while defending, that’s why you see Ja’usrnge tracking back into our own half when we are off the ball. Can Ochomo do any of the aforementioned things?

Ja’Asego, that is what I read in one of the soocer sites that Ze Maria wants him to partner JaUsenge. Maybe as a false No. 9. I leave all to the EC and TB.

  • Ochomo is a clueless player apart from the physical presence which I do not think we need physical presence. I would have preferred Kagere and Johana or let technical bench look at kipkurui of Zoo.
