Gor Mahia take on Zoo Kericho

Gor Mahia will resume their 2018-2019 Sportpesa premier league campaign when they play at Zoo Kericho on Wednesday.

They will be without leading scorer Jacque Tuyisenge who is said to be in Tanzania. According to reports in Tanzanian papers, Tuyisenge is in Dar es Salaam to sign with Simba.

Nevertheless Coach Hassan Oktay is optimistic that Tuiysenge will return.

“He (Tuyisenge) is not in the squad to face Zoo Kericho on Wednesday. We are hoping that he will be available for the next match. I spoke to him (Tuyisenge) and he assured me that he will be arriving in Kenya on Wednesday after representing his country in the final Group match of the Afcon qualifiers.”” Oktay told goal.com

Against Zoo Kericho, Kogalo will need to contend with fatigue.

“Fatigue is finally getting to my players what with all these matches and to make it worse some of my players have returned from international duty with injuries and we could miss six of them today.
We have five matches in a space of nine days and all of them are not easy fixtures and will stretch us to our limit” Oktay told the Standard

With Tuyisenge gone, Oktay will need to rely more on players like Kikpkirui, Sekisambu, Samuel Onyango, Oliech and and Mustafa.

“The important thing is to ensure that we give our best and if we do that then I am sure that we shall win matches because we have a good squad both in the starting team and in the reserves bench,” Oktay said.

Tuysenge off to sign with Simba? Yes, so Gor has become a breeding ground in the region? I will hold my further comments on that

  • Pre-Contracts are Only valid if a player is in the last 6 Months of his contract with the parent club. Tuyisenge still has a year left so according to Fifa Statutes he is engaged in another illegality with Simba SC just like was the case with Walusimbi and Kaizer Chiefs. This is all due to a clueless, inept and corrupt EC which we are soon streamlining with a new constitution and professional office bearers…

  • @Jasego Let’s hope against hope the streamlining takes place quickly.Early last year the talk in town was a Gor training facility by year end;an ultra modern one in fact through Goma lotto. It’s so sad how we are a feeder club yet we can copy Simba model since we have many Kenyan billionaires who can take majority stake at Gor.

I will not talk about tuyisenge now but I want to talk about emerging stars and kimanzi. I’ve realized that kimanzi is being overrated and should not be seen as any one near the caliber of any coach to win anything. In fact he won the league when we were still sleeping and his boss was the chairman of kpl. If you see the players in the emerging stars, you will see there no Gor mahia player and I don’t believe that we don’t have players in that age bracket. But it’s a known fact that Gor mahia have the best players who can make a difference. But kimanzis hatred of Gor mahia fc makes him fail to reason with his head and he is making sure that his squad has no Gor mahia player so that his boss who also hates Gor mahia in equal measures will think that he’s a good coach. Kimanzi ni ovyo Sana.

Not sure why Tuyisenge leaving or not should actually be a very grave concern to us. Good clubs rarely keep most of their good for a long period. Didn’t Beckam and Henry and Neymar and CR7 quit their clubs? Barca is still invicible in Spain.
Locally we lost Olunga, PacMan, Walusimbi, Aucho, Baba Kizito, Sserenkuma, Ngwa , Calabr, Akumu etc etc . That has not made us any weaker but it has given the ther players a chance to shine and fill the void. Likewise if Tuyisenge leaves, let us give him ALL the blessings for a job well done while he was here. Now let us challenge our own to come and fill the void. The problem with Kenyan players is that they get praised for a year and they suddenly feel that it’s in Europe where they can fit.
With Jausenge gone maybe Kip7 will feel the void but we still have enough ammunition. What i ask of the players is thatonce you have decided to go please don’t burn the bridges you leave behind. If so then maybe Walusimbi could have easily walked back to Gor once the the KC did not work out

Olele, I may ask why keep off Rwandese? Must they stay here permanently? We have had Ugandans, Tanzanians, Burundians, etc come and go, what is special in the Rwandese?

For me it is still a rumor that Tuyisenge is gone. However if it turns out to be true, the we still have a very big hill to climb. Gor in all due respect is a big club. This can be measured against the National, regional and Continental achievements it has in the bag. This ideally should attract big suitors. As someone has suggested that we have big money bags in the country. This is also true. With the few that have come on board at different times, we have always seen the difference they make. We have been able to get good players who have served the club with dedication and commitment. May be it also begs on us to ask why we have never establish strong financial foundation. I know that this could be related to historical financial mismanagement, hooliganism, balkanization of the club, lack of serious public relation campaigns and many more that I may even never know. It is said that Gor is the most passionately followed club. It is probably the time for us to ask ourselves, Firstly, is it true? 2. How are we doing it?. 3. Are we bringing others along or we are ushering people in but remaining at the spot?
If we can look in to some of these things, then we shall develop our financial muscles thereby enabling us to recruit good players who we can retain. But as it stands it is only by God’s grace that the center has been able to hold. As for Kimanzi, I don’t know the result that was expected. History is too fresh to forget when the same thing was experimented with Stanley Okumbi. Tafakari ya Babu…………………

Personally i don’t have any quaral with jausenge leaving if at all it’s true. He has served the club closed to four years and if the time comes for him to leave i can only say thank you for the good job.
Players come and go and to other professional clubs, they will ask how much is the interested club is willing to pay.
It’s a good idea if s club can produce good players and sell them for good money. Gor is now known internationally for producing good players. Can the EC tell us how much is the price Simba is paying?

  • Something good is happening at Simba, they realize that they might not be able to keep Kagere and they are already working a head of time to fill the void. Let us start scouting for a replacement
