Gor Mahia youth team will now face off with Mathare United in the final after knocking out Ushuru FC in semis on Tuesday

Gor Mahia on Tuesday beat Ushuru FC 2-0 at Camp Toyoyo grounds to book slot in the KPL U-20 tournament-August edition’s final.

Having been aware that Mathare United were already in the final, Gor Mahia youth were upbeat for a slot of their own and they knew that Ushuru FC was the only step to the space. Coach Maurice Onyango seemed to have reminded his charges of their 3-1 victory against the taxmen in the tournament’s preliminary encounter and they stepped into the game with clear mindset of a win.

They dominated the better part of the first half with attempts and beautiful runs from Henry Juma, Hillary Ojwang’, Nahashon Thiong’o and Ismail Musa, who occasionally gave Ushuru FC’s backline and keeper Brian Otieno some hard time.

In the 40th minute, Henry Juma hit past Otieno in goal to hand Gor Mahia Youth their first goal from a Hillary Ojwang’ assist. The remaining minutes were a mere panic for Ushuru FC into the breather. Juma came from the tunnel to complete his brace and see Gor Mahia into the final with hopes of clinching the title for the first time ever. April edition finalists Kakamega Homeboyz and Ulinzi Stars had paved way for new champions in waiting.

Yes, meanwhile congrats to “Gor Mahia B” aka Zesco for reaching the semi-final of the CAF Champions League. Something for the Gor senior team to also emulate. Kumbe George Bwana is Aucho’s representative. He’s taken Aucho from a championship outfit to a Baroka FC a recently promoted PSL team. Is GMFC getting any transfer fee? All in all GB’s taken away Aucho, “King” David and Akumu and brought in “passenger no.27”! Rama Salim is playing in the 3rd division in Solvakia. Surely with our sponsorship topped up with gate collections i doubt if Solvakia Division 3 and the Baroka’s salaries are not comparable to what GMFC is offering ($1750 to waiganjo of Brazil) or can offer,

Oduor12 i once stated here that George Bwana is Gor’s greatest enemy number one,i mean from k’ogalo whenever a good player emerges he rushes to engage him on an adhoc interim basis in collaboration with the players agent with one goal in mind which is get Necessary Exposure and ship out without GM making any meaningful gain whatsoever.I can confirm to you he even tried this with karim & abuba at their peak last season too but i countered him.The guy is Gor Mahia’s poisoned chalice and we can never go far for as long as he’s allowed to carry out his brokerage business within our beloved club. All he can bring are rejects who need to resuscitate their fledgling careers with the hopes of a possible comeback like he did by bringing you know Who..

The kpl under 20 and the spl are two very different competitions. While one is like a sprint the other is a marathon.Consistent performance during a marathon is hard to achieve therefore we cannot compare the success of the junior upto the finals and expect the seniors to replicate the same.
While it is true the seniors have fallen short lately,we must also be realistic enough to recognize the fact that the team is also trying and having been at the pinnacle of kenyan soccer for the last 4 or 5 years, expectations will always be high and we will be the target of many teams who will want to break that monopoly!!
Therefore let us give the team all the support we can as we continue to encourage them to perform well and achieve the desired results!!

Oswozo this particular platform today is for praising this young lads on their very good showing which merits all kind of adoration and not bringing the usually tiring & misfiring senior team sentiments.A break from the usual boring comments of what where and how the Ze maria coached side is faring is most welcome for a change.Even us at the office are taking a break off it with the senior team coach also going away briefly to get away from it all.Congrats young boys and Godspeed in winning the KPL Title…

Yawa Jasego, Kila mtu kumpumzika sio vibaya, hata ofis, lakini are we 7 points ahead or behind Brewkenge?

Isokei Isorait as long as there’s a plan to win the league.

Btw it seems we are meeting our “original bogey” team Nzoia at Mumias for the GoTv Match. We must now take this tournament seriously (by fielding our best) since its our other option for next years continental qualification now that our chances of winning the league are “based on other teams losing”.

      CLAP, CLAP,CLAP FOR THE U20.

When and where is the final.

Oduor12 Nyayo National Stadium on Friday the 26th ,Come out in large numbers if possible and support this young boys,it’s another chance to stamp the GM Name on a National federation sanctioned trophy albeit on an age structured category. Our cabinet lacks only this particular local trophy hence my insistence on support and concentration on this young lads…

Thx Jasego, What time does the match kick off. Btw talking of trophies, where are the trophies won of the years (both originals for winning 3 times in a row and replicas)kept. Can’t they be securely displayed at the offices at Nyayo to showcase the club’s achievements and motivate players/officials (and provide a few hotheads with points of reflection). Of course the most prominent spot being occupied by the 1987 continental trophy. Hope the trophies are not adorning someone’s living room!

Oduor12 yeah the trophy cabinet is at the National Offices HQ at Nyayo though i would have made you laugh on some exploits of the Three Peat Trophy which has done it’s fair share of exploits akin to the Olympics Torch but let me desist. They are safe and well kept Bro…You can do a pop in one day as a stakeholder-if you are a registered member of GM and request to see them since that is your undeniable right

Jasego…nowhere does it state here that this is the forum to praise the juniors. This platform is open to all and sundry and comments herein are not limited to a particular issue. Its freedom of expression and no one can dare take it away from me or any other blogger so dont try dictate things here…. or if you must open your own forum or blog and dictate to people there what they can or cannot say!!!people who live in glass houses should never throw stones!!!!

Oswozo come slowly,i only meant today and heading into the Junior Team finals warrants some praise, encouragement and motivation for these young boys on this forum and not the usual Senior Team this,Senior Team That.I even realize you didn’t criticize the Senior Team which is what i have been advocating myself but what i meant is we know wea we are (standings),what needs to be done and who needs to do it.Our next league game is on the 10th September, cant we break even for a day or period and wait for re-structuring?Sunday the 28th is Nzoia on GOtv which ofcourse after the Juniors bag this trophy (God Help Them)people can return to discussing tactics and fielding opinions. It’s what i meant, easy if it appeared out of tone but everyone is on Edge when it comes to Kogalo Seniors and only good performances on pitch can cool down the temperatures.I cannot even Fathom gagging anyone as no one has been Gagged more than I Ja’Asego on this very site and everyone knows it since it’s well documented/chronicled in this very Archives.
