Gor Mahia to play Homeboyz Friday

After a disastrous week in which Kogalo were unceremoniously eliminated from the Sportpesa shield and the CAF confederations cup, the defending champions return to the Sportpesa premier league.
The match between Gor Mahia and Kakamega Homeboyz that was originally scheduled for Thursday has been moved to Friday according to the KPL social media account.

The changes were needed as Gor Mahia were scheduled to arrive from Morocco on Wednesday.

Gor Mahia will be looking to redeem themselves while Kakamega Homeboyz are out to pounce on any perceived weakness including travel fatigue.

“We have prepared well and we are hoping for the best. We cannot say that it will be a difficult game simply because they (Gor) are coming from far and were beaten 7-1 last week. We have to be at our best and that is what we shall focus on,” said Homeboyz coach Nicholas Muyoti.

Two days later, Gor Mahia will be in Kisumu to play Ulinzi.

Gor Mahia are tied with Sofapaka atop the premier league standings.

It will be a very difficult match because kk homeboyz are on form and they are determined to get their maiden win against chuor timbe. I hope that the players who did not feature in the continental matches will be at their best to push the team. Am looking forward to Hashim Sempala to make his debut in kogalo colors against hboyz.I wish to urge the players to prove to the doubters that they are beyond kpl and the fact that they were eliminated from caf confederation cup doesn’t mean that they are weak. It’s very unfortunate that bandari of late have been meeting Gor with some issues affecting the players psychologically.

Hope that psychologically the players are back in the game. Off-pitch issues should be handled arnd closed ASAP. The players should also know that they are playing for their future and not for the fans or EC. As fans we have very short memories and move on very fast. As much as we miss Sserenkuma, Olunga, Kagere, Aucho, Jaja Walu, Baba Kizito, Ngwa etc we have literally forgotten them and embraced the new group. So they should know that EC, TB and playes come and go but the team and fans ar6w the constant factor.

@Ogolo,you are right,Homeboyz are enjoying good form under Muyoti and with Wanga firing on all cylinders they are a very dangerous opposition.

However, with the lessons picked in caf and having only one trophy left to fight for this season,I hope our boys will rise to the occasion and put the Berkane defeat behind them.

Things are settling down for both players and officials. With no wins in recent days- no winning bonus to cry for so I assume no strike looming. With no international flight to take – no sleeping at airports and poor travel arrangements to whine about, begging ministry for funds. The team only requires money to fuel the bus, monthly salary (month end bado lakini). those we want to arrive on boda boda for the match SAWA.

Musitusumbue. Bado tunatafakari vile mlivyo fanya kule Morocco SAWA. Mukikosa kuchukua ligi, hata JKIA hamta kanyaga next year. Shauri yeni.

    all the best

@Dan original, I concur….with you…..as much as there are challenges here and there….The players should also know that they are playing for their future and not for the fans or EC.

  • Somebody should tell OKtay he was hired for Continental duties and not to tell us how to win a local league, something we have done over and over 17 times before.

Football life is indeed short. so from my perspective, just like Ronaldo was hired to delivered champions league and he failed inauspiciously, Oktay’s detrimental tenure is also as good as closed. Next chapter ?

  • @Jagem Oremo and @Dan Original , I concur with your sentiments vis a vis the players and ambition and to buttress your points further , I wish to give the example of Ajax Amsterdam , Budgetwise and playerwise , Ajax is in relative terms in Europe similar to Gor Mahia in Africa , Ajax in comparison to e.g Real Madrid , Juventus , Man City , Man U is similar to Gor Mahia in comparison to TP Mazembe , Espearance , Mamelodi Sundowns etc , but this is a team that against all odds , despite budgetary constraints and inferior budgets , despite having players unknown , they have gone ahead to knock out the richest club , Real Madrid and even further to knock out Juventus .
Ajax is a team made up of young players , focussed , well guided and ambitious , and having all these , they are intelligent enough to know that no stage provides a platform to the future like Uefa champions league and as of yesterday , 6 of the players were already linked to the top 6 clubs in Europe e.g Barcelona , Real Madrid , Bayern , Juventus and Liverpool .
On our side , we are now back to the Sport Pesa League and Camp Toyoyo and so far , we are yet to hear of any club asking around for any of our players , meaning that our players have only two options I.e to stay in Gor by renewing their contracts or go to other KPL clubs , but i have just read somewhere that these other KPL clubs despite also having sponsors have not paid salaries , bonuses and allowances for the last so many months and hence this is not an option to the Gor Players , football is a short career and time doesnt stay still , and it is on this basis that I appeal ,( like I will not tire of doing ), to the Gor Players , Please disregard the fake counsel from hypocritical cheer leaders , who will dump you at the earliest opportunity , and focus on your career beyond Gor Mahia , Gor like Ajax provides you a platform nobody around will offer you , not even the ones misleading you .
Finally discipline in any entity is unnegotiable and spare the rod and spoil the child , nyaunyo ni lazima and goodluck against Homeboyz .

Now that the waters of CAF have gone under the bridge, what next? obviously, it is the league. Once again we are going to be playing catch up matches. The only advantage we have is that we hard already widened the gap. The current teams that are purporting to be on top of the league know very well it is not true but false. I would have wished that we were still in CAF but the truth of the matter is that al that is gone and I cannot mourn over it. The question is, how did we get to CAF? You and I know that the answer is obvious. Win your league by right and then find yourself in the Continental arena. This simply means that we can not belittle the league. I’d rather we always go through this process than any other way. The only thing which according to me should be a lesson is, we should not be getting caught up in so many domestic competitions as much as they are sanctioned. They eventually take a toll on us especially during the continental matches. Gor should accept the tag of being a big team and always play with the main focus, win the league and go continental. I am otherwise well aware of the pressure that is always present when we are playing any game. The pressure to win everything. Piratically speaking, it is not possible. I think time is ripe to implement the SWOT Analysis Principle
    1. S – Strength
    2. W – Weaknesses
    3. O – Opportunities
    4. T – Threats
I think this will help us to achieve higher than we have been reaching.

  • When playing KPL Gor Mahia is never under pressure it’s like pros playing with kids. The team should look forward to playing serious teams when they would have won the league.

  • Some food for thought.Of the last 8 teams with the exception of ours were well structured and organised teams with serious technical bench. Maybe we reached way beyond our level. Good bye continentals as we await 2019-2020 CAF championship whether with these players or new players; late arrivals at away matches, lack air ticket, incredible bail out from politicians, missing passport, miraculous departures of players under contract, delayed bonuses (this one is not going away soon) and of course the annual promise by Rachier of club development ie stadium, e tickets, sponsors etc. long live Gor Mahia let’s take this league.

Kahata and Philemon must pay for embarrassing Gor by availing their bones and flesh to be filmed while lying on the floor. They thought they were passing a message to EC but forgot that fans love the club more than individual players who come and go.On this rare occasion we support Rachier, heads must roll.Walu, kagere and others also despised their employer,Gor, and have been forgotten. Gor is too big to be blackmailed by a few indisciplined individuals.

Until sanity prevails we must gang up to oppose Rachier placing his hands on our players. We must Resist this attempt to turn Gor Mahia into a mid table team. Can you imagine “good mannered” players are the likes of Mustapha and Ssekisambu. The pair arrive on time and go against player resolutions.Fellow bloggers Gor is not a high school we should demand playing unit to be left to play.If he must punish then let it be to non performing players. Happy Easter everyone.

  • I have just read somewhere that the third component of Gor Mahia I.e The fanbase has just cost the club a whooping Ksh 1.5 M in fines from Caf , this in addition to close to 900k slapped on us over the mayhem we caused in Machakos plus other earlier fines from Caf .
What surprises me is that almost 8hrs after the story broke out , it is yet to appear in this blog but were it to be that the players salary HAS BEEN Paid BUT the allowances and bonuses have been slightly delayed , this bloggosphere would be on fire and that being the case yet the third component that would be stoking the fire are part and parcel of the financial doldrums the club undergoes , NOW they are here But very quiet , Very quiet and I will repeat this and I will be repeating it over and over , again and again and if you dont like it , dont read , that the reason I say that this Third component (Fanbase) is the weakest link of the 3arms of Gor Mahia , is that we cant fill a stadium , any stadium to cheer who we claim to love , the few of them who manage to attend want to underpay or force there way into the stadium , after they do that they cause the club to lose money through brainless hooliganism , impoverishing the club , then being the first on social media in cahoots with Gor haters throwing insults at the EC as to how dare they not have money to pay the “Very suffering Gor Mahia players” , who are paid an average of 100k /month and on time and then miraculously are reported to have been locked out by their landlords and yet the players from Sofapaka , Mathare , Mt Kenya who are in arrears are safely in their houses and we rarely hear about them .
We cause the club not to have money , make wellwishers to shy away , make families not want to attend matches but then by some miracle , we are unable to understand that we are the problem .
Is it possible , that we the fans can come together and help the club pay those fines , I ask this question knowing the answer and I dont need an answer , the best you can do is stop stunting the club , Thank You .

  • Rachier for heavenly sake we dont have time for traitors.Talk to FKF get rid of these hungry vultures. They dont have interest of this club at heart. These are leeches who think the club is getting alot of money from CAF.Let them go to AFC and wait for their so called “bonuses there. How can you sell amatch just a day after you gotten your salary as per the contract? These extortionist have breached their contract by betraying the whole country. As we talk, they should never closer than 10kms from club activities. The club should be recouping any amount earned for future development.not bribing extortionist to win matches. They are contracted to do exactly that otherwise we dont need them.

With good preparation and well renumeration Simba was hammered 4_1,Man U was also hammered 3_0 at camp nou and the list is long.Gor woods are always blown out of proportion in Kenya.I like the way office is handling the situation of players strike, let me remind the playing unit to always play for the badge. No any player would wish to down tool in abig game like the one for the Berkane,a serious player would wish to play even with injuries. These virus players of Gor mahia need to be shown the door,Let us all support the office in this. The EC may have some weaknesses but they have always tried to do what is good for the club,it is only some rogue official by the name Nyangi who need to be reminded of Gor mahia ideology.

  • The embarassing photos we were treated to was just the final act of a poorly choreographed movie that was hatched on the 2/4/2019 in Kisumu , the night before the Sony game , and the plan was to play the Sony game , pretend everything was Ok , travel to Nairobi , Accept their salaries on the Friday of 5th April , then thereafter everybody switches off their known phone numbers but with two of the ringleaders using their unknown numbers to break the news to the media with a resume to provide the media with a litany of grievances the club has been subjecting them to , some of which we may have read in the press like ooh the club only provides them with one set of tracksuits , ooh , how they slept on THE COLD HARD FLOOR , while watching Simba players being escorted to a hotel to sleep and then Promising the media of evidence when they next travelled , and the pictiures we saw being splashed all over the media was a culmination of a premeditated plan that also involved a Gor Official , who until the kickoff in Berkane was constantly on phone with one Fred Arocho of Jambo FM providing him with misinformation for him (Fred) to use in escalating the narrative .
I am yet to know who took and sambazad the photos but I suspect it was the captain .
So , to those who still believe that the photos we saw were of people who were sleeping and not acting , then the choreography clearly fed on your gullibility .
There is no club in the world irrespective of the reasons who can tolerate the acts of insurbodination as exibited by these mercenaries , with the probable exception of Messy , Ronaldo and Neymar .
As to Philemon , the upcoming payment of nearly ksh 1m from Harambee stars has made this boy an out of control shilling millionaire to be , the arrogance has already set in in advance , as much as the club he is
Shitting on now is the one that provided him that platform , He feels too rich to be questioned on anything and its true that it is a fact that he was the one who was seen at pipeline hustling for a bike a few hours to a national game , he didnt sleep at his Lucky summer house , so as to who he slept with and what they did on the eve of a crucial game is a reflection of one who has taken a path to doom unless the cheer leaders bring him back on track .
I had so much hope on this boy but he has clearly chosen his path and when the axe finally falls , it may begin the earlier penning down of yet another bright sportsman’s career obituary .

Jasego, your silence is not good and it shows that things are not right in the club. I wish I have your number because I can only see kichapo against kakamega homeboys this afternoon. Would you mind briefing us on the situation on the playing unit. Are they in their right mind considering that Ambrose rachier have read a riot act for them.

@MICHAEL OGOLO, @Teddy Sofaset Branch Entebbe, @Jasego, @Barefoof Bandit, etal, Gor Mahia team is OK and their no need of panic. The six ringleaders are on their way out of the club some through suspensions whilst others through termination of their contracts/non-renewal of their contracts as well. We need a discipline players as Gor Mahia players are well paid and salaries are up-to-date. The only delays have been with bonuses and allowances which are not entitlement but motivations for performance.

Fake intruders like @Jakoyo, @Gor Player and @Ingo are strangers to this site and they should help their team to continue with resuscitation from their poor performance.
