Gor Mahia to play KCB

Samuel Onyango and Erisa Sekisambu in action against Mbao FC

After the dissapointment of losing to minnows, Mbao FC, Gor Mahia return to local action this weekend. On Sunday they take on newly promoted KCB according to an announcement from KPL.

Gor Mahia are currently in 7th position, six points adrift of league leaders Mathare United. As such they cannot afford to slip up. KCB for their part are  in 16th place and will be eager to grab three points to move out of the the relegation zone.

Coach Oktay will be eager to notch a convincing win in order to calm down critics who are starting to lose faith in him.

Tuyisenge rubbishes transfer reports

Rwandese striker Jacque Tuyisenge has denied reports that he is set to move to Congolese side AS Vita, popularly known as Mokonzi ya Terrain.

“I have no idea where the rumours are originating from, but it is not true. I have a contract with Gor Mahia and I intend to honour it.” he said to goal.com

There have been numerous reports linking Tuyisenge to Vita over the past two months including statements attributed to his agent.

Tuyisenge, you are good. just go is you get a good deal. You have already done your best at Gor. We wish you well in your negotiation.

  • There’s this group that always encourages our players to move out even when our transfer period is CLOSED & without GM being compensated. Is your loyalty to GM or a player? Are the replacements,if any, better players so that GM does not stagnate/recede.

@Oduor12, You are right. This is really annoying from the so called fans OJOmondi to encourage player to go. This is foolishness of the highest order. These are not fans but impostors.

  • Unlike the Barcelonas when did GM last win a league & shield double? Reach CAF 1/4s? What does EC have to show for a 5.5m/month wage bill? There’s a time everything, our transfer period is closed until June/July now let’s focus on soccer CCC, league…

@OJomondi, while wishing a player well is in order…but in life, you consider your interest first…..our interest in this case is the future of Gor Mahia……not another team….even at work place, no employer will easily release a good worker…you will simply leave because you have got a better offer elsewhere which your current employer cannot afford and there is nothing the employer can do. I know some employers who when learning their employees have got well paying jobs elsewhere, normally offer them better pay or even promotion so that they don’t leave.

It is in the interest of Gor to let some players go. We are being eliminated in many tournament and keeping and retaining good players might become a challenge in the near future (look – poor performance, – lean sponsors base – reduced gate collections are all interlinked and then the players go without pay, get demotivated and leading to a further poor performance). Let us allow this to happen and open doors for new energetic and talented players who want to make a name (it is a symbiotic relationship). And if a player can find better offers why not? we just miss the point because the Official are never transparent about these deals and poor contracting because of lack of visionary leadership which should have clear strategic plans that they can share with the players.

I would not stay with an employers who want to keep me at all cost but without a sense of what tomorrow hold for me.

Remember Gor has history. Players have a life. we need a balanced approach

      • It’s the AR led EC that has that problem/historynot GM. Omera, try walking out on an existing legally binding contract & you will face the music i.e lawsuits,a ban/fines. GM paid 4m for Jausenge years ago so what’s the price for any transfer now 25.3m?

Each league has 2 transfer windows a season, let players & their admirers, officials carry out their deals within the correct period. All your concerns, match attendance, winning tournaments are aggrevated by ill timed transfers i.e loss of better players.

KCB1 Gor0 half time, these Gor players are just below average, Oktay’s credentials are also in serious question. Things are terribly bad here.

I do agree that losing is part of the game.but this coach is not worth Gor mahia. No wonder Rachier said they wanted a cheap coach. Cheap things are expensive.
Let the coach park his luggage and leave. With this coach, we are heading nowhere.

If only we could get a coach who can send the likes of Shakava packing bure kabisa. The fans were right to throw stones at that assistant ref, that was provocation and nobody could stomach it.You can’t take away Gor’s obvious throw in and expect us to clap for you, noway!!!

Shakava and Joash are useless centre backs falling over themselves like pregnant women. What happened to proven Joachim and Momanyi partnership? All players of Gor seem below average unfit and unmotivated. There is no excuse of fatigue here just drunkard players who have forgotren the pride of being a gor player. This coach is stupid as diel also as the team seems clueless no formation or tactics he must go followed by his equally takataka type of a captain called Shakava. We played bad bad baaadd football not of gor standards
