Gor Mahia to receive compensation for “Ade”, as Rama leaves

Gor Mahia are set to receive some compensation from the sale of Kevin Omondi “Ade” to Moroka Swallows of South Africa. This according to a report from goal.com.

The total amount Moroka Swallows will pay is Ksh 4 million. It is still not clear how much Gor Mahia will receive.

“Fisa have been in touch with us and have offered to give us part of the money they will receive from Swallows. They gave us an offer and we gave a counter-offer.” said Ronald Ngala to goal.com

Ngala has also revealed that the club will be more careful in their dealings with FISA academy in the future:

“I must confess that sometimes we have been desperate to get the players and so we don’t make any demands. Previously, it was also unlikely for players to leave but with increased exposure, this is changing.

“In future, we will only sign loan deals that ensure our interests are well protected. Omondi’s transfer has really opened our eyes over this issue.” added Ngala to goal.com

Pursuing some compensation for “Ade”  is a good thing considering that Gor Mahia has also invested a lot in the player. They have given him maximum exposure and one can make the argument that the club has contributed more in moulding Kevin Omondi.

Wishing Rama all the best

Secretary General Chris Omondi has official announced that Rama Salim will be leaving the club. His most likely destination is South Africa. He had signed a six month contract with Gor Mahia in January. The club has been seeking a contract extension but Rama did not seem inclined. He has been a good player for the club since he joined from Congo Boys in 2012 and we wish him the best as he pursues his goals.

Omondi also announced the Jared Obwoge will join Posta Rangers on a six month loan deal. Obwoge joined the club in January but has been unable to crack the starting line-up. He had been a highly touted signing. None other than Zdravko Logarusic wanted to sign him in 2012. Joining Rangers will give Obwoge much needed playing time.

  • All this is because of the unstable financial situation. EC has had 3 months and they still have not made any progress towards addressing the KRA issue

  • @Jakoyo, yes, they are ensuring the contain the wages and hopefully pocket as much gate collection as possible. Maximising the bottom line

Guys, are we supposed to chain the players to gor or force them to sign 5 year contracts?
Let the players go and better their lives. Let’s not forget that last year Rama left during the mid-break after some mouse and cat games but we still won the league and later on accepted him back.
The thing is that we struggle but in the end we shall overcome the odds

  • Yes,without battering an eyelid all our 1st team shld have long term contracts.
That’s the only way 2 gain from our players talents/financially if they opt 4 other clubs in return 4 exposure/naturing.
Mid-season transfer window is 4 re~enforcement of the squad so if EC is truly being pro-active then no contracts should lapse at such a crucial time.
Otherwise expect the chorus ‘oh let the team gel oh just let the team gel’ very soon.
Case in point we won the TPL coz fans vetoed “Flava’s’ exit.

To go to another club is normal, But at this rate this is not normal something fishy is going on .second leg we need experienced players to win the league.

From yesterday’s results we can see that the second leg is going to be tough and it will not matter that you have recruited top-notch players. So the thing is to incalculate the Gor culture on the new boys and as fans let’s not put undue pressure on them

  • we all love Gor but some of us dont reason at all. Rama signed only 6 months & have ellapsed & he was not willing to renew his contract. Ade was on loan & any player on loan can be sold to any club depending on the player & the purchasing club. Even Akumu who is in kartoum on loan can be sold to any club with a gud offer & the kartoum club cannot do anything about him. So let us not be pple who r only worried even if our sons r trying to better their lives. I dont think that in 5 yrs time we shall be abl

be able to pay even a single player a salary exceeding/or approaching 500k. so if our sons like Ade,Akumu,Rama & Danny Sserenkuma r likely to earn salaries in the range of 2m to 3m let them go & they shall always remain our sons unlike Wanyonyi & Masika who will never be a kogalo. It is better if our players go outside the country than join our rivals here.
