Gor Mahia to take on SoNy Sugar on Friday
Against the backdrop of sensational form that has seen Kogalo dismiss Ulinzi and Posta Rangers by scores of 2-0 and 5-0 respectively, Gor Mahia are due to play SoNy Sugar on Friday.
But their 12 point lead atop the standings could be in jeopardy.
Yesterday, Kogalo players went on strike in Kisumu threatening snub tomorrow’s league match against Sony Sugar at Moi Stadium. The players are demanding all the outstanding allowances.
Gor Mahia Organising Secretary Judith Nyangi said the players have informed her they were checking out of the hotel in protest to owed allowances.
“They got in touch with me from Kisumu and have told me categorically that they will not stay in the hotel or honour Friday’s match against Sony Sugar. We have tried to convince them but in vain,” she said.
Club chairman Ambrose Rachier, who is in Russia, tried convince the players to return to camp and honour Friday’s fixture.

Gor Mahia’s pursuit of Ugandan player Erisa Ssekisambu has ended.
“The deal is off. We have been in talks for the past couple of days but failed to agree over a number of issues,” Ssekisambu’s agent Ronnie Santos told Kawowo Sports.
Ssekisambu has won the Uganda Cup’s MVP twice and was also in the run for the UPL Best Player in the 2014/15 campaign. He has also been a regular for the Uganda Cranes.
Gor Mahia would definitely be a scary place to go to if I saw those already there doing the extreme to get paid!

At my work am always reminded that that the human resource is the most critical for the success of the organization. At GM someone seems to think that you can take the workforce for granted and still expect good results through threats and coercion. It can’t work, won’t work. I was one of the people who supported the club going for CECAFA and now that the EC is contemplating withdrawing because players are on strike( not fear of fatigue or injuries) I couldn’t agree more. Why go then if the players sweat their asses of and win they get less than half the prize money while the EC keeps the rest? There was some myopic argument that these players signed a contract and should not get any extra cent from money won in tournaments, then on what grounds are members of the EC sharing the rest of the loot? If players signed a contract for a specific ammount, I guess the members of the EC also has a contract showing what they earn. So how do you say players should not expect the windfall yet the EC are eating? Anelka says players were paid 38,000/= each from the Supercup prize money of 3miliion. If you multiply that by 30 players you get only 1.15 million. That means the EC and TB which should be less than 15 people pocketed the remaining 1.85 million!!!Where is the fairness in that? Who worked hardest for that money?
Let us be realistic, the price money is not for players only to share. As much as I would love the players to benefit the most, I still believe that the club also has other expenses that needs to be settled. There are winning bonuses agreed upon during contract signing and that is what should be binding. Running a club like Gor Mahia is not a joke like most of us want us to believe.

You are a good student Sir. Good responses there. Why cant the club then give a breakdown of how the balance was used since that is the bone of contention. Less of that the rumours of them having eaten the money will have a higher moral standing given the history of tumbocracy at the club
The problem between the EC and players are mainly management HR. issues. Gm need to engage a professional HR. Firm to manage relationship between Employer( GM) and Employees ( player). This purely lack of proper industrial relation management. Just effective communication with players will solve the problem. Motivation to players is part of good employee relationship. Reward for good work done is the key. Please listen to the players and you will agree with them on the way forward. Do not come up with impunity punishment such not honoring cecafa unless EC and players agree on the same.You can solve problem by creating another. Put contract issues aside and deal with employee relations. Do cheat yourself that you can sack all players and replace them with the same quality.

The EC should know that the club is made up of players plus the funs. the Fans will not sit back and watch while the club is being messed up by Official. Gor Mahia has taken us 50 years to build and it can not be destroyed within one day. Never !!!!
I dont wanna go into who between a guy of mjengo or the supervisor works the hardest, what I know is that the supervisor or the owner expects a job done as per what you have agreed on prior to agreeing to do the job .
It becomes a problem if either party does not honour what has been mutually agreed upon , be it the mjengo guy , the supervisor or the owner , its not about feelings , just business , I would say the same to any other business arrangement be it football or otherwise .

A player playing for Gor is not any different from e.g an Engineer working for Safaricom or Airtel , before starting or agreeing to the job, there are terms and conditions that have to mutually agrees upon and that may or will include salaries , allowances and or bonuses , the key word here being mutually agreed to between both and all parties before signatures are appended , any thing else over and above or below must again be mutually agreed to upon request not demand by either parties .
Thats why you will get that in the same team, one is getting e.g $400000 a week and another is getting $80000 , that is what either negotiated and agreed to before putting pen to paper .
My reasoning is based on a rationale that all parties more so Gor Mahia are honest and altruitic to the the agreements , though when it comes to Gor , with all the bloated cannibals that make the EC, I have my doubts about their intentions , no matter how good on paper they are , doesnt mean the players are right though .
I hesitate to choose between either and prefer to remain within the realms of common sense which at times is not very common in Gor Mahia .

How I wish we could get our bearings right with the right persons at the right place. The CEO doesn’t seem to have PR/HR skills. Maybe the emotions has taken the best of them. The Nyangis who were vocal when the team was winning are now out of sight. This is the time to provide leadership.
If only we could go to Tz and meet/beat Simba with Kagere and maybe Kahata in their team that’s when our Gor will know that the team is bigger than any individual, be it a player , EC or TB member. In case we don’t go to Dar we will still have to play our league matches, no resting. I agree with the decision of honouring the Cecafa competition, with the first eleven too not only the fringe players. It is true the Officials lack some leadership skills, hence why should we keep them there, they should vacate the offices. I am really annoyed, they have spoiled my day.

The lack of structures and opaqueness at Gor, I believe, is by design to facilitate some underhand deals. To me this is in fact corruption and if a miracle can occur and these officials are forced by the justice system to come clean on gormahia accounts, am very sure many will be shocked. All is not well at gor. The baseless claims of one chairman financing the team while in financial crisis can only be trusted with documentary evidence of the same. @Dan Original,things are abit fluid at the moment but efforts are being made to ensure we honour tomorrows match even if with team b.On signings Kerr was also not for many players as he believes the current squad is good enough.He is a dejected man at the happenings lately and is mad at Simba for player tapping contemplating reporting them to Fifa with Kahata the case in point here.On cecafa we wont make it am afraid as things are very volatile at the moment.It will take some concerted effort to restore peace and tranquility to our beloved club but we shall do it.
