Gor Mahia are pursuing promising forward Ronald Omino who currently plays for Muhoroni Youth. “We are finalizing in terms with Ronald Omino who will come and sign a two year contract any time after Christmas, Gor Mahia CEO Ludovick Aduda told futaa.com
Omino joined Muhoroni Youth from Kakamega Homeboyz and made 21 appearances, scoring two goals. His current contract expires on Dec 31. He is the son of western Stima Head Coach Henry Omino.
Aduda also indicated that George Odhiambo will be renewing his contract. “We shall not lose Odhiambo to any other club now that his contract ends on 31st December. We are finalizing on talks over extending his stay and all that will be known by Monday 29 December, Aduda told futaa.com
Earlier on there were indications of renewed interest from Randers FC, the team that signed him in 2010. Blackberry needs more time at Kogalo to regain the form that saw him earn KPL player of the year honours in 2010.
And in additional positive news, Gor Mahia players received their salary arrears for November. “It is true we have been paid and we are truly grateful to the club for keeping its word. Though, it is only one month salary, we still appreciate because it will go along way to ease our financial burdens at this time,” midfielder Collina ‘Gatusso’ Okoth told goal.com
Meanwhile Patrick Oboya is back after unsuccessful trials in Vietnam. Oboya tried out at three teams and at one point was reported to stranded in Vietnam. He joined Gor Mahia in 2013 after an running into contract and eligibility issues with his former club in Vietna. During his stay at Kogalo, he has shown flashes of brilliance at times but injuries have prevented him from regaining the form that saw him join a Czech team.
Oboya going to Vietnam for trials was a non-sequitur considering that he has not done much since 2013. As for Omino , am not convinced. So far we dont have a signing worth getting excited about
Personally I am excited to get players like Aucho, Bonnie, Glay etc. Not sure what else we could expect from a ‘broke’ team. Even ManU has young players like Wilson. Unfortuately we expect to sign players like Okwi, R. Senttogo etc but are not ready to chip in financially when called upon
@Jatingare, I total disagree with you on Omino. This is a young talented player that have even tested the premier league. Who do you want to be signed? Than posting nonsense in this site, why can’t you as bloggers and fans contribute to Gor Mahia coffers in order to sign well established players? Even if small request are made for rewarding players, we as noisemakers can’t even contribute as low as 500 bob. However, when it comes to thuggery and criticisms, we are second to none. On gate entry, some of our fans want to make free entry and watch players without sacrificing the little amount at the gate. When will our fans and bloggers learn to appreciate the team and support the team financially and materially no matter the size of the amount?
I bet that even if Gor Mahia is to go public or SACCO way, most of our fans and bloggers will not become shareholders and members. In this regard, we will have no right to participate in any of the ordinary and extra ordinary business of the club. For any of us to vote in the business of the club during AGMs and SGMs, it will be a requirement that we all must become shareholders or members for us to participate in such meetings but not as fans nor bloggers.
In other words what I’m trying to allude here is that we as fans must participate in ownership of the club both as either shareholders or members of the SACCO.
I do not what has happened to our young fans.they r really oppressed by the demonic spirit of inferiority complex.why doubt ominos talent.?we also av to develop our own.
@Jamigori, you are spot on. We want the best but are not ready to sacrifice even 50 bob that we use to watch Arsenal or ManchesterUnited in a drinking joint. As at this point the EC is performing better than us fans. Managing to even have talks with these plsyets despite our financial status.
the sad thing is that we are all ready to ctiticize them if they fail.
