Gor Mahia Transfer news for December 6

Gor Mahia Chairman Ambrose Rachier has announced that despite being busy with the elections and campaigns, his committee is busy pursuing transfer targets.

“We are very busy in the transfer period and have already identified seven players to sign. They are purely from Kenya and in all departments as suggested by our coach. I cannot give out names as early as this because we are not done with the paperwork.”  he said to goal.com

Players like Kenneth Muguna of Western Stima and Shafiq Butambuze of Tusker are among those rumoured to be on Kogalo’s radar.

Another rumoured transfer target is Burundian Didier Kavumbagu.

“I am excited about the possibility of playing in Kenya, especially after winning several trophies in Tanzania and Burundi. There has been contact from a couple of clubs over there and it flatters to be linked with KOgalo. I could help them retain the league title,” Kavumbagu told Nairobi news

Kavumbagu who is 28, has played for the Burundi national team. At club level he played for Young Africans and most recently for Azam.

Didier Kavumbagu is a great player. I have seen him play for Azam and Yanga… but question is who will pave way for him?? One lad I will prefer Gor to go for is Victor Ndinya.. a young lad from Bandari F.C. he is a good winger, better than even Blackberry+ baron Oketch. He is speedy and will match Ze Maria’s play style. Can the E.C please get this boy. He can cause troubles along the wings and is just like Eric Ouma Marcelo. E.C please do something. And sell back Baron to Western Stima. no added value in Gor Mahia.

I just hope that Ze Maria has assesed these players and they will do physicals this time. The club cannot afford more passengers.

Where did Ze Maria observe Kavumbagu to know that he fits in his ‘system’ or philosophy, whatever that is? The EC will sign him then Ze Maria will one day tell us’I did not sign these players’ just like he told us with the likes of Odula, Baggio and Baron who were signed under his watch. Newsflash:Cheche is currently teamless, Ze Maria needs a central defender and Cheche has always wanted to play for Gor!!!

I thought AR has said all the 7 targets are Kenyans.Batambuze, for all I know,is Ugandan and Kavumbavu is Burundian. Therefore AR’S statement pours cold water on their link with Gor.

For all I know, transfers of players during the window always elicits all sorts of rumors. some come turn out to be true and some turn out to be just that, rumors. It is a period of excitements and disappointment to gainers and losers. This may happen to the office as well as the bloggers. For some reasons, some of these factors are player’s preference, financial demand and power, time, paper work. Lastly not all good well sorted after players will ever player for the club of anyone’s choice. No one should therefore be crucified. At the end of the day, it is still an integral part of the game. Just a thought.

Let’s not forget that we almost crucified the office because of Kagere. So let’s be patient as we suggest our preferences. I believe the EC and TB are doing something, and so are the other teams. Players also have their options.

The EC and the TB wil only wake up after the elections…that’s the truth of the matter. Hayo mengine ni siasa. I expect true aggressive recruitment after the polls. By then some of the targets will be long gone.

Exactly no need to sugarcoat things ati EC/TB is doing anything but campaigning. And on that note I personally would urge GMFC members to sign the following: Chair-Chris Omondi, Snr.V.C-Wasuna, 1stV.C-Pesa, Sec.Gen-Ogidi, Dep.Sec.Gen-*Ngala, Asst.Dep.Sec.Gen-Scrap this post, Treasurer-*Keneddy Ouma, Asst.Treasurer-*Okuku,Org.Sec-J.Anyango,Asst.Org.Sec-Scrap this post. *Despite reservations i say we retain these 3 for the sake of institutional memory and transition otherwise the new team may just be handed over empty offices and bank accounts. Funny how Ngala sticks to the small positions when under AR he virtually runs the club.
