Gor Mahia , Ulinzi battle to a draw

The match between Kogalo and Ulinzi that was played at Afraha stadium ended in a scoreless stalemate. The first half was evenly balanced with Stephen Ocholla of Ulinzi hitting the upright in the 19th minute. On the half hour mark, Demonde Selenga put Wycliff Ochomo through but Ochomo could not finish the glorious chance.

Rock solid defender Eric Masika had to leave the game with a concussion. He was replaced by Chris Wekesa. The introduction of Hajji Mwachoki and Moses Odhiambo still did not get Kogalo a breakthrough. Jerim Onyango was once again instrumental in saving Gor Mahia from loosing with a series of good saves.

The match was very well attended by Kogalo’s travelling band of fans. Ever since Gor Mahia beat their arch rivals 3-1, the performance has been wanting. And if not for the heroics of certain players, most notably Jerim Onyango, things could have really gone south for the club. Onyango’s superb play has seen him earn player of the month honours. Gor Mahia are now four points behind Tusker who won their match on Saturday.

Another draw! Zico’s reject Kitawi was instrumental in tusker stretching their lead over GM.Allow me to ask:
1.Sincerely r there any benefits of retaining the current coaching team as is?

We cann’t afford to draw at this crusial time of the league. Do we really have the research wing of the club? If we had any then they could have turned all those draws to wins. By the goings i wont be suprised to see Tusker take the league and Gor becomes the runners up.

gor mahia are actualjy 5 points behind leaders tusker and not 4 as the writer pointed out.The match was difficult, very difficult indeed.considering that we were playing away and againts a fellow title contender.ulinzi are a strong team and also a very physical team.except for gattusso and wekesa, none of our players seemed to win 50-50 balls againts them.we need to put the ball down more often and be more patient with our build ups.
A draw was fair in this game, the only problem is we drew games we should have won, karuturi (home and away)mathare, congo.now we are beginning to feel the effects of drawing games we should have won
Lastly to zico, pliz try selenge on the wings and try introducing lucky dube earlier or even start him,as for ochomo, maybe its too early to comment but am(personally) not satisfied with his performance yet.thats’my 3cents worth advice to coaches

Its worth mentioning that AFC is doing very well. They have scored 5 goals in the last two games. They have coaches who actually know what they are doing. It may be the middle of the season but Kogalo should seriously start looking for a coach from Europe. Too bad Rachier is busy campaigning for KFF. Fans should not put up with this nonesense anymore. Its not just the fact that we cant score. Its the fact that Kogalo is actually being outplayed by teams like Ulinzi, Tusker and so forth and struggles to score against teams like Thikna, Congo and western Stima. If Chemelil fans thought Zico was not good enough, I am not sure why Kogalo officials thought he would be better than Agido. Upuzi mtupu

just watched the match between ogwang and city stars at nyayo .if you saw it on supersport then you know what it means to drill players and getting results.all coaches in this league have time to mould winning teams.does our coach spend the same time with the team, does he have any idea of his first eleven?

  • zico was eleted that he drew with the defending champs who are not even ahead of us on the table. let us continue drawing and we are likely going to be number three finally and we get rid of ZICO.

it is not the players that zico lucks but he is lucking in inteligence that make coaches different. how many more draws do you want you zico man before you leave Gor?

    i have stopped watching . .

  • What happened to our crisp passing game? What pattern do we play? I think Zico hss lost it and it is a matter of time for him to give in. We used to play the best football in KPL log but now, the technical bench seems to lack new creative ideas. Every time we drop points, everyone seems to be happy with the draws and with common excuses that the league is tough. To me, I think the technical lack ideas and I do not see where Zico is taking Kogalo. Zico has had a bust up with most players and how can the team move forward with such arrongance attitude expressed by the coach. At this rate, even Sony is going to give us a run for our money and the team should aim at winning at all costs.

Zico, needs to listen to the fans ,after all we are seeing things that he does not see. We are paying his salary. We may even buy him a nice pimped- ride to roll in instead of trekking. The fans are demanding the superb ball control -Kogalo style. Allan Thigo Style!! Len Style!! This yuora nena style is not entertaining.Long balls always miss the target.Short and crisp passes are pleasant to watch and they are on target.

Those who are still talking of a ‘draw is a fair result’ are not real pundits. Time and again i have said it here, Zico cannot take us to the next level. Draws do not win leagues. AFC have lost 10 games but look at how close they are to us. As Joe Riaga puts it, let’s look for a foreign coach immediately, see the turn around at AFC? Even if we miraculously won this league, do u think Zico has what it takes to play Champions League. Am also getting tired of mediocrity. Mwakio also got it spot on, somebody had a word with Lucky Dube after the Sher game, and again you feel Zico is frustrating him, presumably coz he was becoming too popular with the fans, so what does Zico want? I thought good coaches utilize their best players? Where’s the passing football? Real Kogalo fans, let’s support the quest for a foreign coach and keep Zico on the technical bench at best, to coach the defence. To those of us who are satisfied with small things in life, do not think that big things do not exist. Gor is bigger than Zico and that remains a fact. If you look at the travelling green army then you’ll realise that things have changed at the club. We now have a sponsor and trust me, at the expiry of the current contract, bigger and better sponsors will scramble for Gor, if Tuzo does not increase their sponsorship, no one will even look their direction. So, will the band of you sticking to Zico claim that Tuzo should be given a chance? You probably won’t. You have to fit it to buy it. Zico has done his best and due credit should be given to him and he should be allowed to move on or be retained in the technical bench to continue learning his trade. At the moment, he is too petty and partisan and has no experience in managing big personalities. Like it or not, Gor players are becoming stars and each day they keep earning the direct attention of the media, the fans, the sponsors, the scouts, et al. Zico feels he is being drowned in the whole furore hence his rather punitive way of dealing with the rising stars. A few points to note:
    1. We have a chairman who has achieved his goal of attaining self actualization status. Gor has placed him in a pedestal where he can now vie for a national seat. Remember he invested a lot in Gor, paid for bills personally to run Gor (with the help of the PM and a few other prominent Luos and Gor fans)between 2007-2010. He has also successfully acquired sponsorship for Gor and now does not need to spend his own money. Fans, rem he is a rich man. But he never played soccer and hence knows nothing about it. That’s one reason why he cannot sanction the search for a new coach.
    2. The Chairman is too close to the coach. He even calls him ‘coaches’. This gives Zico confidence that whatever the fans say, he is there to stay. Rem during the Congo match, Zico was under siege in msa and in the following game against Bandari a fight broke out at City and Zico had an army of kariobangi goons to protect himself? Do you think he has the money to pay the goons?
    3. Zico has no skills in attack. Did you see how Ulinzi raided us? They say if you don’t buy a ticket you don’t win the lottery. If you don’t shoot, how will you score? You get the feeling that Zico instructs the team not to shoot. How then can you explain the lack of goals from such a talented squad?

  • we have not won half the matches we have played. ie won nine drawn nine lost two. we are the team with the highest number of draws.

Does Zedi know loosing 1 game is better than drawing 2 games. In loosing one game we loose 3 points and in drawing 2 games we loose 4 points.

Loosing also makes coaches think of a winning formula. Draws makes them complacent. ZEDI iwinja.

Thats is why Tusker is on top

  • Yuora nena! I love this blog. I saw both coaches celebrating the draw. Zico was happier coz this season he has 4 points from two legs with the champions. The only problem is Ulinzi don’t look like champions this time around. What wuon pap says is right and not from one game only. Technically Ogwang are improving and they are taking their chances. Let’s try to win all our home matches as that’s all we need to win this league. We can continue to draw away for all i care but we will win the league. Gor has 10 matches left, 8 in Nairobi (Home), 1 in Awendo on 27th August and 15th October 1 against Bandari in Mombasa. If we drop any more points at home, we will need to start rebuilding for next season. If you visit http://savefootball.co.ke you will see our Chair with a whole lot of plans for Kenyan soccer. I want to ask where are his plans for K’ogalo?

thank you Creative Village. I think the problem might not be Zico, but the Chairman who to me seems indespensable and cahooting with his gang to continue putting him in office. I dont care what anyone says but the fact is Rchier should get out of office with immidiate effect.
I invest as a follower unqustionably but sincerely it is so hurting seeing all of you followers giving your all but little does the office notice.
The draws are too much yet we have superb players. Zedi, read tuskers game with Mathare, it was a different game altogether. Sammy brought in a new crop of phsychology to battle Mathare, meaning that at times it is what you bring in as a different coach.

someone has never told us how much blackberry brought to the club after his move. this office should be revamped once and for all for the sake of the club.

Ulinzi should have won the game were it not for Jerremi.

Infact, what I think is to bring in a local tactical/ bright coach, the likes of Jacob Ghost. You like it or not, he is much ahead of Zedi.

Maybe we need such a combination for the rest of the season. I believe we have good players all they need is composure in front of goal. For AFC to get Koops they had to go through 8 coaches. We don’t have that much time to go through that. At this rate we need to depend on the outcome of other teams to clinch the league which is not far-fetched. The only other problem is that the teams below us are now so close. Let’s hope for a miracle at Awendo

Jan koops, the new AFC Leopards tactician has revived hopes of what i read some of you are calling ogwang. But what does his success have to do with GM? The remaining fixtures are very crucial to us.

The team requires our support at this crucial stage of the league, not kelele nyingi kila saa. Our joy is to see Kogallo clinch the title but that will not be achieved with the kind of opposition we have from within. Some fans are out there to subbortage the team. I remember one comment last week, a contributor said Kogallo was going to see fire in Nakuru. I am not sure what he is now saying. I remain loyal and faithful to Kogallo as it is. Time for change will come and your wishes shall be granted then. For now lets us support the incumbent office bearers and the technical team. For God and my club Kogallo

    “VERY URGENT—THE WAY FORWARD”

“AS THINGS FALL APART THEN REALITY SINKS PAINFULLY”
Why not try “EZEKIEL AKHWANA” to assist ZICO.

When GOR played KARUTURI to a 1-1 draw i posted my comments on this site after the lead story GOR HOLD KARUTURI

My comments are @ 20 OKOTH JABILO posted on August 15, 2011: And it was entitled as written below
    “PRIDE COMES BEFORE FALL”
RIOT ACT TO THE “OFFICIALS” & “TECHNICAL- BENCH”

Thereafter i read all the comments and reactions with regard to my comments from all worthy contributors on this site that was very interactive, educative and passionate.

The day after our good writer Mr. PACHO recalled the best coach GOR ever had in the name of LEN JULIANS and did a story entitled “The Arsenal Legend Who Coached GOR MAHIA” that i noticed generated a lot of debate as to what was the best way forward for KOGALO.

Some of us without mentioning names even personalized the issue to the extent of suggesting that even OKOTH JABILO (My self) should take over the technical bench.

Since i do not respond to subjective and theatrical rhetoric’s i decide not to comment on the issue at stake and wait for our performance against ULINZI.

And as routine we (THE GREEN ARMY) did storm NAKURU, gave our beloved team our support and salvage a point that according to “ZICO” was a very good result and he is happy.

ZICO’S comment now informs my comments today entitled “THINGS FALL APART”.

I have no problem with our coach as a person and I duly appreciate and respect his contributions to this club both as a player and a coach; but I have a lot of reservations about his capabilities in this time and moment.

Zico has a divided mind-set / attention between GOR and HARAMBEE STARS. Where as other clubs are doing post match analysis and diagnosis of their teams and individual players performance; our head of technical bench will be busy running errands with national team until Friday when resumes to GOR’s camp and expect miracles happen or if not win by fluking or luck.

When Mathare united coach Mr. Salim noticed that club was doing badly in the KPL matches; as a gentleman he decided to quit the position of Harambee stars assistant coach and opted to stick with his club so as to engage his players and make them understand their responsibility.

When GOR played AFC they had a whole week of rigorous training and you could see a motivated outfit on the field.

The coach was available to share, guide, control, demonstrate and practice all the applicable pattern with the team.

After our draw with Karuturi I did meet ZICO and some of his players during Tusker Vs Mathare replay match on Tuesday at Nyayo Stadium. I was surprised to hear that they will only train for two days (Wed & Thur) and head to NAKURU early on friday.

In order for GOR to remain formidable in challenging for KPL title and focused in the remaining matches which are a must WIN, Then lets have an assistant coach with KPL experience in the name of ”EZEKIEL AKHWANA” then “ZICO” can concentrate with the national duty as GOR progresses disruption free.
    Why AKHWANA?
Because he understands how to make playing unit cohesive, has a winning mentality, will have sentimental attachment with players without favor or victimization and lastly understand the current soccer techniques that apply to a club like GOR.

NB: Remember what AKHWANA had achieved in SOFAPAKA within that short period has left “KIMANZI” baffling despite his highly profiled credentials.

We are not firing ZICO but only ensuring the future succession plan is in place as the season nears the end.

AFC has Koops and Weche, where as Ulinzi has Nyangweso and simiyu just to mention a few.

“OVER TO YOU GUYS of KO-GALO”

REMEMBER THIS IS URGENT AND WE SHALL PUT THE CASE FOR CONSIDERATION IMMEDIATELY AFTER EITHER DRAWING OR BEING BEATEN BY SONY.

@OKOTH JABILO, I thought ZD had 2 assistants: Omondi Korea and the cameroonian who puts on glasses. Personally, I would hate to look at coaches success, the way you do. Flashback, Omollo Pamzo, failed at Gor and doing wonders at Tusker. Kimanzi succeeded in Mathare, yet strugling at Sofapaka. Agido did well at Gor, failed at Congo and not doing any better at City Star. What am I saying, Akwana may have succeeded with Sofapaka fine but thats not a gaurantee that he can replicate the same at Kogallo. For God and my club – Kogallo.

We are the C.E.O’s of kogalo. since the club is not a company sponsored one therefore, the Club including the elected Chairman and the technical bench has to be vetted and our score – card is purely based on perfomance. what are we for if not this?
    2. there is urgency to reform.
    3. Zedi need to give the club if not 100% then most of it.
4.I personally respect Zeddy’s work. He only needs to think harder. put more time to the club. I ask myself… all the departments are well represented with very gifted players…..He needs to Insteel a phsychological notice amongst players lest we think that it’s a sabotage.

I pray that things change soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • As i said earlier, we have 10 games left. The chairman should host the team to lunch, have everyone speak their mind and insist on a fresh start for forgiveness and bonding. No grudges. Today i met a former player at Chemelil who gave me a few insights into Kenyan changing rooms. Apparently the coaches get something small from every player who plays any game. If you give willingly you will always start, if not, you may even not be on the bench. The coaches don’t earn enough and that creates politics. What is happening in K’ogalo and many other teams in the league is politics of money. The players have talent, the coaches are okay, the opponents are not exactly great but the results and consistency will not be seen everyday because of politics and money. Just imagine Kalonzo as your striker, Ruto the keeper, Karua in defence and Uhuru midfield together with Musalia, Kibaki the coach assisted by Agwambo. The fans who are the donors will always wonder, how can we beat AFC 3-1 and Karuturi, atura 1-1. The answer will frustrate many fans but it is the truth, even next season it will be the same. Were we not here last season? The chair and his team must run K’ogalo like a corporate organisation not like Sirkal as we like saying. Sirkal ni ‘Siri Kali’. What you see is what they want you to see. The followers must demand accountability like in the corporate world not like we demand of Serikali. Kenyan soccer will only grow if K’ogalo and Ingwe change how they do business. I mean how they handle money and politics.

@ 28 Albert Kosero (Sofaset Branch – Kampala) Your valid is well point noted. I like your sober approach to the current issue at stake within the KOGALO fraternity.

But i hereby humbly and disparately beg for the following info:

    1. Is KOREA a goalkeeper trainer or Assistant coach
    2. The cameroonian was meant to prepare youth team which i’am yet to know if it still exist or was dis-banded after the tournament.

What i was driving to Albert is that we should apply very professional and quality management style at the “Technical division” of our beloved club in order to achieve good result.

In deed this is the usual norm applied at well established clubs world wide, so as to make available time for the coach brainstorm.

Remember ZICO being the head coach he automatically becomes a manager who is paid to THINK,ANALYZE RESULTS,SPY & CARRY OUT INTELLIGENCE ON OUR COMPETITORS,DEVELOP PLAYERS AND LASTLY UNDERSTAND THE DYNAMICS AND FREQUENTLY CHANGING TRENDS IN THE WORLD SOCCER.

Albert when i look at all the above mentioned functions i do not see any supporting hand in our current technical bench that can help ZD fully accomplish them.

We just need some radical surgery on the technical bench by introducing somebody who can understudy ZD and at the same will be ready to rally the troops in his absence.

WE SHALL ACHIEVE TWO THINGS WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT.

    1. This will be a strong statement to “TECHNICAL BENCH” in terms of their poor performance. Somebody has been watching them and its either they “STYLE UP” or “SHIP OUT” if the trend continues.

    2. ZD will have an able hand in his absence to not only guide the team but also provide checks and balance on the kind of decisions he will make.

ALBERT BELIEVE ME THIS COMBINATION IS A WIN WIN SITUATION FOR BOTH FANS AND THE OFFICIALS.

    Over to you ALBERT.

Zico is a good coach but every coach eventually runs out of ideas and has to leave. Ancellotti, Mourinho, Trapattoni, Sven Goran etc all were good coaches but eventually had to be replaced. After a while the team stops responding to coaches or opponents figure out how to counter them. Thats why most teams change coaches every 3 years. Its rare to stay for a long time and continue success.
I believe Gor Mahia under Zico has reached the point where teams know how to counter Zico’s tactics. Its time for a change. Kogalo should look overseas for a coach. There are plenty good coaches out there.

The best GOR MAHIA will achieve in 2011 KPL season is what was predicted during the start of the season. And that is nothing other than the “TOP FOUR FINISH”. Because out of the remaining 9 matches this is my final results predictions based on there current performance trend.

WINS; 4 DRAW; 4 and Beaten ;1 Courtesy of AFC LEOPARDS.

The league champions will be Tusker Fc
    No;2 Ulinzi Fc
    No;3 C-Stars Fc
    No;4 G-mahia.

So let us wait to be squeezed through the back door as the best loser’s(GOD FORBID)in FKL CUP and win it so as to qualify for continental tournament with lack of respectful “CREDIBILITY” from the competing teams.

    1. GOR WILL LOOSE THE 2011 KPL LEAHUE,
    2. HARAMBEE WILL NOT QUALIFY CUP OF NATIONS UNDER ZICO.
    3. RACHIER WILL LOOSE TO HUSSEIN & SHOLEI TEAM.

AND LASTLY THE GREEN ARMY WILL GET RID OF THIS TWO GREEDY BEAST FROM OUR BELOVED CLUB FOR GOOD.

“GOR MAHIA FC” will not do any miracles as long as we have allowed this two greedy, mediocre and incompetent individuals to ruin the club under our watch.

On Zico, his fate will be known very soon. His style of fielding, attacking and creating of chances in the midfield is baffling many fans. Zico is only good in defending but not in creating any new ideas to the playing unit. Why can’t Zico consult his assistants if he has problems in selecting the team.

@pareyio ole lelerue, why are you happy with draws. We are pissed off with excuses game after game that the match was tough. The match has always been tough to Gor Mahia and what about other opponents? There are empty excuses that will never help us to win KPL log.

  • All the suggestions here are good apart from the far-fetched one on match-fixing. If you go to GM matches you can see that we are clearly outplayed at times or inept at converting clear chances. As said we need a bench with a stronger personality to assist ZD who despite giving his best might not be a motivator. If you look at coaches like Fabish (RIP) and Mourinho you will realise that there are cases players play for the coach and this means giving over 100% in the field. I also don’t know if the rapport between ZD and the players is that good, remember Agido despite lacking the papers used to win and entertain as well. All the same we need to support the coach and maybe give him some personalities (maybe physochlogists/motivators) to let him and the players know that they are able to beat any team and take draws as if they have lost. Otherwise without the fire burning in the players tummies they might think that drawing is always best.

Whatever comments have been made here one thing is certain; Ulinzi is not a pushover; secondly every team now prepares well to take a point from Kogalo, if not beat them altogether. But then there lies the big question, has the coach learnt anything from that? If he has what is it? The only thing that I see is predictable with the coach is that he has no first eleven team to talk about. He seems to be ever in trying out a team. That is reckless to say the least. You do not manage a big team that way. I am afraid he will realise too late. All the same he is the coach and must take full responsibility including throwing in the towel if he find that he can’t manage. The bottom line is that you cannot win this league with that kind of guess work. Kosero, I do not think you are in Uganda as you claim but just here fighting on the coach’s side. I wish you could favour him with some few home truths, maybe he could listen to you.

I always say and i will repeat it.GOR WIL NOT WIN PREMIER LEAGUE WITH ZICO as COACH.The reasons are very clear and you dont need to put on sun glasses to see.
1.Where on earth have you seen a coach coaching a national team and at the same time alocal club?
2.As national coach and at the same time club’s coach, are you not exposing your tricks to opponent during training sessions with national team?
3.Ghost tried multy tasking failed,Kimanzialso tried and failedand lastly Salim of Mathare also failed.Zico why do you think your special? Why this greed Bwana coach? Are you not being paid well in Gor?Why dont you serve one thing at atime?Harambee stars has alot of money.
4.Where did you take Macheda and Kip?Where?
GO TO HARAMBEE STARS AND LIVE GOR MAHIA ALONE.

Omera, tis good we have forum to air our views and concerns..Zico has had enough time to do his part and we have seen how far he can go.

Guys if you ever had some time to watch Rangers playing Mathare yesterday then you wonder where we left our quality..there was very good football to watch in that match..i am surprised that the league is only tough for GM when other teams can afford to entertain and score too.

Okoth Jabilo i beg to shy away from your choice of Akhwana..this guy was fired for alleged sabotage of his head coach..a vice once linked with a former GM assistant coach..

My big question on our technical bench’s ability remains..how did we manage a draw away against Yanga without our stars like Kevin Omondi, Jerry,Masika,Gattuso,Lavatsa..to me that shows me the bad element in that bench is obviously Zico..i dont think we need to do more than doing away with this coach..

As for Pareyio we congratulate you for joining the Green Army..and accordingly inform you that at GM we say the truth as we see it coz this is a community property..

As for the Chairman we don’t need to attack him because we belong in branches and have kept our membership up to date. This will enable us to square it out with him come December.
But for Zico if we decide to keep him to end season then just know we have surrendered the title race..

Lastly, our game has been bad, it went to worse and is now heading for the worst both in play and results..i read someone was mentioning about research..kindly expound on this because i had some fans referring to it “research” as Juju..is it what you meant..i abhore this school of thought..i’ve not said its what you meant but just for clarity come clear so others are not misled..

  • MESSAGE TO MR.RACHIER AND ABOVE ALL THE GREEN ARMY!!!

Today while watching MAN U VS. Tottenham u may not miss to c Capello. Why?
    1. He will be enjoying his career passion game.
2.He will, above all be watching some of his best players in England National Team Proving themselves.
Those are just but a few he will be doing, but to the interest of the NATIONAL team.
So next time you will c some changes in line up or players called to the national team.
I wonder when does ZICO does this when there is a game in Mumias or chemelil (GOR MATCHES) while John Baraza is equally playing an important game against Ulizi in Nakuru? The Truth is that ZICO has to concentrate with one TEAM. GREEN ARMY to decide whether KOGALO OR HARAMBE STAR!!!
Just imagine 9 draws = 6 losses!! HAPANA we cant stand this. ZICO we love you and your skills from your playing days to 2 day. Choose one. We r worried of our current RANKING, our skilled players must be cleared to play in a greener pasture through AGWAMBOS/JAKOMS PHONE CALL!! and it will go down if this is the case. We equally need medals at our KABATS in KOGALOS OFFICES AS WELL. THE TRUTH YOU CAN’T MANAGE THE TWO.
    PLEASE KOGALO’S FANS TO VOTE.
    (A) ZICO FOR GREEN ARMY
    (B) ZICO FOR HARAMBE STAR
    (C) NON OF THE ABOVE
Vote please and i will sample the outcome.

I salute Creative Village and Oti in joining those who do not enjoy the YUORA NENA type of football that GM squad have been displaying lately. The fans want to see short and sweet passes. The Hail Mary desperate long balls dont do it for us.The possession and the ball control always favour the winner. We enjoy watching the superb soccerflow… the Brasil style.

Zico is currently coaching GM and Stars and both particularly GM are performing poorly. I don’t like the idea of relegating Zico to an asst. coach or having an understudy. This is a recipe to sabotage, more bust ups and confusion. Some of us saw the danger signs after only 5 games, mainly lack of classy football and preferance for the YUORA NENA football. Well chickens have come home to roost and
1.We may still win the league under Zico (by other teams slipping up) and be humiliated in CECAFA and CAF tourneys next year.
2.Most likely under Zico GM will end up no.2/3/4 even 5 playing very unattractive soccer so y not fire him now.
3.With a gud new coach (Zico must not be part of the technical bench) we will improve our style of play and might be lucky to still achieve either 1 or 2 above.

Therefore to answer my own question I don’t see any benefit of retaining Zico as coach even for 1 more second.

To all ma fans on this forum, this is my final submission. I strongly believe that the league is within reach. I have faith in the current team. What most of us are writing on this forum are rumors eg Match fixing, bribing coach etc. We do not have prove. Changing the coach will not achieve much at this stage. I would rather you overhaul the playing unit. Even if we bring in a new coach, with this same players, not much will be achieve. Why am I saying that? If Makori, Selenga, Ochomo cannot convert clearly chances under ZD, what makes you think that they will under Len Julians-RIP or Arsene Wenger? The coach does not teach players how to player football, but simply co-ordinates the team. AFC overhauled the playing unit and the coach and are now reaping from it. Let us compare notes at the end of the season. From now onwards, I want to focus my energy on supporting my beloved club. They badly need that support. Spare not effort. For God and my club Kogallo

  • If the coach was to be fired now where will we get a new coach to push the team forwards at this time? The little chemistry that is there between the team will be gone. I wonder whether some of us are serious with their comments here. We are not talking of a mechanical gadget where you can change some parts and automatically get results. The best we can do now is to give the team all the support we can despite all their shortcomings. We can sit down and evaluate the team performance at the end of the league and decide whether the coach, the players or the officials (or all of them are the ones to be overhauled). The one thing we have to agree on is that our game is not currently the best though we are still far ahead of the teams playing slick football. Therefore let’s support the team and whether we win the league or not it will be a lesson learnt. What I detest is the issue of some fans seeing only the negative side of things. Is there a possibility that the management could be the issue here yet the ony person we see is the coach? The time spent at Harambee stars is so short for it to affect GM performance, after all the KCB coach is also there and I haven’t heard them complaining like we do. We are known to be people of very little patience and now is our time to prove the rest wrong by supporting the team. When AFC will lose a few games including to us you will hear the praises for ZD again. By the way I have been going to their matches and it’s not that they are any better that us it’s only that their finishing is better than us. A coach will never teach you how to score as these are things you learn on your own through practise. Ronaldo and Beckham are said to remain and train alone after the rest of the team mates have left and that’s what makes them what they are.

9 draws, 9 points from a possible 27 and you want to convince me that zico will deliver the league! the coach always juggling players, experimenting, fumbling in fact uncertain of what judgement to make,i.e. guesswork unlimited. the same coach is happier with a draw & comments after match ” the league is tough” meaning he prefers coaching ligi ndogo. that aside the team is seriously struggling to score yet we have a pool of talent in the team. these concerns can only be addressed by a competent coach or is it thegreen army causing all these!!!!!!

I’m scared of the Awendo match going by the trend and the fact that SONY will be at home make me even more scared. Can we develop a culture where an individual can evaluate his/her performance and say enough is enough and leave honorably without being hounded out of the office. If your stay will not add value it is time we let others take over and continue with the journey instead of staying put and hope that GOD will help you with a draw. PERFORMANCE is based on various indicators and fans have set their eyes on the trophy period. There will be no harm by calling it a quit since the writings is on the wall. I’m foreseeing another circus pitting the technical bench against the fans and this will not go down well with the players. Lets put GM first

  • Made to understand that players like Macheda and Owiti got some playing time in the FKL game which we won 6 – 2. I wonder why they don’t get any time to show their skills in the league. Since most of us cannot go to Awendo this Thursday let’s wish the team all the best. Pessimists have no place in GM and they will be ashamed by the results after the Awendo match. The reason we continue supporting the team is because of how fast they recover from low . We win on Thursday and every team will be worried about us

  • We should give zico some time but we must blame him for inconsistancy of the team. At the attacking where the problem is and yet we have gud players, he should play lavatsa behind ochomo and selenge should play wide. Lavatsa is the key upfront same as rooney for manuntd! Lucky dube should partner gattusso in the midfield and am sure kogallo will become leathal again!
