Gor Mahia unveil new jerseys

Gor Mahia unveil jerseys

After a long and eager wait, Kogalo fans can finally get their hands on the new club jerseys. The unveiling of the Tuzo branded jerseys came on Friday July 8, just in time for the milk derby against Thika United on Sunday.

The jerseys are manufactured by Italian firm, Legea. The shirts available for sale to fans will be the exact same state-of-the-art kit as that used by the players on the pitch, giving fans the opportunity to experience and enjoy the same benefits afforded by Legea’s Tree-Tech features. The sponsorship deal also proovides training equipment and boots.

The shirts will retail for Ksh 2800, unlike the previous ones which went for Ksh 1000. This has led to an outcry amongst fans who say they are being gouged.

Worse still, it has been announced that only 10 % of the revenue from shirt sales will go to the club. 90 % will go to Tuzo. This leaves many fans wondering who actually benefits from the deal with Tuzo. Jersey sales are supposed to be an extra revenue stream for the club. The sponsor is supposed to benefit from the publicity generated via jersey sales, not directly through sales. Also, the one thing that encourages fans to buy jerseys is to support the club financially. It remains to be see how eager fans will be t0 buy jerseys when only 10% of it goes to the club.

We think Chairman Ambrose Rachier has a lot to explain regarding this deal with Tuzo.

Kogalo fans how wl 10% assist the club?then the cost of jersey is high how wl a die-hard fan from the village wl afford it?I think the cost should be pocket friendly for all.

  • Tuzo should be considerate. It is like we are supporting tuzo so to say. I will buy the jersey only if a good or better percentage goes to the team. meanwhile i will still continue wearing my usual ones which are much better of a quality than this legea things.

  • KOGALO JERSEY: A COOL $ 30?

First of all i congratulate Gor officials & the management of brookside for finally unveiling the season jersey to the club. I want also want to add my voice on the price of the repica jersey. A cool $ 30 for each jersey? I think the italian sportwear manufacturer, Legea have got their footing wrong considering this is first time firm is courting clubs here in kenya. Thika United FC is the only other club in kenya donning the firm’s kits.

I therefore urge our officials to sit again with Tuzo & re- consider the price again for the benefit of us all. The deal should be seen to benefit the company at the expense of the club. The fans too should be equally considered as they final consumers of the end product.
we are waiting with bated breath to see how the officials will respond to this matter.
As for our clash with Thika United tomorrow at city stadium, wembe ni ule ule.

I wish also to congratulate the Government & the people of South Sudan on during their independence being marked. We wish them well as embark on an ambitious task of rebuilding their nation. Viva South Sudan! Viva South Sudan!

Expensive but we will get quality for money. Issue is, TUZO should let the club retain more from the jersey sales to increase likelihood of more fans buying. Jahkaruothe, Bahr El Ghazal – Sudan

  • This is unheard of a sponsor getting 90% from sales revenue the club getting only 10%…that translates to 280 per t-shirt for the club ..this contract needs to be renegotiated or Tuzo keeps their sponsorship..

  • kwani TUZO is sponsoring GOR or marketing itself?

that logo is too huge, tis like wearing a t-sho for a TUZO promo…kama ya OMO! nkt…then LEGEA had to make such a substandard design? nkt!

Indeed it came at the right time for the Milk derby considering the first on was at Thika.Money has never been a problem though the price is the big issue

I beleive the club is going the write way and having looked at the shirts i believe they are very good quality. My beef is however with the %ge the club gets, 10% is too low for a struggling clun like kogallo. Tuzo are supposed to make their money from us creating awareness on their pdts hence increased sales and not tryn to make money from our shirts
