Gor Mahia unveil new signings, will unveil new coach next week

Gor Mahia today provided the complete list of 8 new players who have joined the squad for the 2018-2019 season. The eight are:

Erick Ombija , Castro Ogendo , Erisa Sekisambu (Vipers SC), Geoffrey Ochieng (Western Stima), Shafik Batambuze (Singida United), Kenneth Muguna (FK Tirana), Nicholas Kipkirui (Zoo FC) and Pascal Ogweno (Kariobangi Sharks).

Wesley Onguso and Kevin Omondi have been released. Omondi’s form dipped significantly last season after what seemed like a brilliant start. It appeared he was on his way to regaining the form that saw him called up to the national team at age 19.

New Coach

Despite earlier stating that Zedekiah Otieno will be given the reins as the full time coach, Chairman Ambrose Rachier has reversed course after having received numerous applications .

“We have 53 applicants as of yesterday (Sunday); some have coached in Kenya and some have never stepped foot in Kenya.” said Rachier to goal.com

Rachier now says the club is screening multiple applicants for the position.

“The panel of experts will have to do the vetting but I can state that we’ll have to consider experience, possibly in Africa football and the language ability of the candidate for ease of communication with the players.”

Screening multiple applicants for the position, on a salary of 1000 dollars ? Good luck.

The only good news is that CAF assignments, there is no limit on the number of foreigners to be fielded by a club…..

@Jakoyo, it appears that your personal interest together with Nyangi is fast fading away and you have given up on. Let us look at group interest of the club.

@Jakoyo respect Mayienga omera. Gor pays foreign coaches very well.
      1. Zdravko Logarusic-350,000
      2.Bobby Williamson -500,000
3.Frank Nuttal-Started 550,000 webt upto 750,000 second season before demanding for 1Million which we couldn’t
      4.Ze Maria-550,000
      5.Dylan Kerr-550,000

I told you Zico will Never be Head Coach of GM so long as those experts you hear AR Chairman refer to are around moving strings for the betterment of Mighty Mayienga. Gor Mahia is Strong because it has Experts running things from the background technically and tactically albeit not Financially. Gor is safe i repeat

This process of unveiling players as well as setting the tone for the future should be taken more seriously. No need for fans in all manner of regalia attending. Those should be left for the stadium. That occassion also depicts our image to potential sponsors. And as far as i know all corporate sponsors look at the organisation in an outfit before they engage them.My thoughts

@Dan yesterday’s was an eyesore at best. A dimly lit hotel with signs of a leaking roof not befitting the stature of Mighty GM is how social media reported it. The fans in attendance should also dress better omera outfit Jolejo Maria cha gi muma oknyal bwana riembo sponsors. Also our diehard fans need jersey overhaul moko oserumo you cant read the team name well. I will be donating 300 new jerseys for the 2015 season to those diehard fans i know since we stockpiled them and they they didn’t all move so as a good gesture better give them than have Afc Fans taunt our diehard supporters of wearing faded jerseys.#Wangoremawahero

        Jasego,
I believe you are close to these people, I mean the Jaro Sojas of this club as well as the EC members. Let them know that we are proud team and these small shame we can do without. Do we actually have an OS and if so what is his/her work? Did we see how Simba unveiled Kagere and Co? We don’t have to do it that way but we don’t want to compete with Churchill show as someone put it. One suggestion was even to organize a match against the junior team at Camp Toyoyo and unveiling the players on that occasion. Alternatively have a fans day bonanza and have the fans play a game against the team/EC/TB then have the unveiling. we need to protect our brand since potential sponsors will not necessarily come from the informal sector but the corporate world. Imagine if you were a potential sponsor watching such on Tv and reading our comments. As much as we need Jalejo and Co as fans we also need the opposite of them.
How I wish Sportpesa could be in charge of such functions , just like they propose to pay the players and TB

“We need at least Sh7 million in each continental fixture, we’ve engaged a number of sponsors and the government too to come on board, especially on air tickets and accommodation out there,” Rachier said.

“If you know any sponsor out there you can ask him to come on board,” Mr. Rachier added during the unveiling of the club’s eight new players on Tuesday.

We need to realize that image matters and before the chairman starts ringing the begging bells, he should first work on the image that fans portray to the potential sponsors.

@BB, I think what the club needs is three things…
    1. someone /sponsorship to pay TB salary directly .
    2. someone/sponsorship to cater for transport and accomodation directly.
    3. someone /sponsorship to cater for players and TB healthcare directly.

The rest of the club costs such as allowances, bonusses, training venues etc can be left to the EC to figure out where to source the money. After my highly publicised fallout with his majesty right reverend chairman, I have always mentioned to him that it is foolish to rush to the public with an opaque figure, which we all knows very well cannot be accounted for.

For that reason, if they give us the TB of our choice, I will be glad to get a sponsor for the technical bench.

  • The players’ salaries shall be fixed by the joint committee of the SportPesa ,Gormahia FC and AFC Leopards FC. Officials from both clubs have to meet with Sportpesa CEO Ronald Karauri. I want the SportPesa Company to address an issues on the payment of player’s salaries etc.
Avoid letting problems linger. Addressing issues as they occur is a much better strategy than waiting for things to get better and work themselves out. Employees get discouraged when they see problems go unaddressed. It may take more time to handle a problem right away and it may be unpleasant, but it is much better than what you’ll have to face if you allow it to fester.

CAF matches are legally under supersport TV channels and not any other media house. Watch out for supersport9 or 5 on Dstv.

@george, just like today’s kariobangi match, preliminary stages of CAF championships do not necessarily feature on main channel DSTV . I suggest you look out for possibly KBC or Viewsasa who may offer the live option.

Methinks next time we unvail our players the likes of jaro, ous paka na kadhalika (we love what you bring to the stadium) shouldn’t be seen anywhere near cameras it was player’s unvailing session but the fans behind Chairman, Barrister Rachier made it look shambolic and backward
Anyway wangoremwahero, God bless mighty K’ogalo #Nyasamustfall
