Gor Mahia vs City Stars preview

Taking on City Stars this weekend will be a difficult task as the Kawangware based side are in top form. They recently beat AFC Leopards and are playing the best football they have played since being promoted to the premier league

Ahead of this weekend’s clash against Nairobi City stars, Gor Mahia will have to play without several key players.  The site futaa.com reports that

Dependable midfielder Anthony Viera Akumu, David Owino and Israel Emuge are all injured and could miss the match as confirmed by Head Coach Zdravko Logarusic.

-Injuries are killing us. Akumu and Owino have slight injuries and will have to undergo late fitness tests before the match, Logarusic told futaa.com.

Anthony Gathu has not recovered from the injury he sustained in the top 8 match against Tusker. Innocent Mutiso and Raphael Kiongera have started rehabilitation training but are still far from fitness.

In the absence of these players Logarusic will need to dig deeper in his bench. Ivan Anguyo who has not seen much playing time lately might come in in central defense or in midfield. If Moses Otieno has recovered from the emotional meltdown he had against Tusker then he may have another chance to prove himself.

Rama Bereaved

Meanwhile Rama Salim lost his sister to a road accident on May 14. Rama has already travelled home to Mombasa and will miss this weekends clash with City Stars.

  • Moses otieno should be given a chance we see what he can do and anguyo to partner mosoti in defence then let wekesa and nasio play fullbacks and the team will perform, i believe.
