Gor Mahia vs Simba Match Report
It was a splendid performance by Gor Mahia young lads at Dar-es-salaam National stadium on Saturday when they demolished a fluid Simba side 3-1 in an extremely exciting match played in front of a sparse crowd. Duncan Makori took only 2 minutes of play before finding the back of the net after he was beautifully put through by industrious midfielder Collins Okoth, who later, turned scorer in the 13th minute after Wycliffe Opondo marvellously tapped an over head first volley on his path. He made no mistake latching on it clinically with his left foot, a mazed Simba goal keeper Ally Mustapha could do very little to stop the ball from landing in the roof of the net.
Baldwin Ngwa, who had his best day in Kenyan football scene, was a constant threat to Simba’s defence line. He marshaled his way through the box before releasing a fine pass to unmarked Francis Ochola at the edge of Goalkeeper’s area. Without making any mistake, Ochola cleverly made it 3-0 at 44th minute.
Second half was a tale of missed chances with Duncan Makori missing a great opportunity to make it 4-0 at the 65th minute there after it became a balanced affair with Jerry Santos rattling the cross bar in the 75th minute. Earlier Amri Mafutah had missed a glaring chance after failing to tap in a cross after he had beaten Gor’s offside trap. Amir Mafutah would later console their home fans by pulling one goal back at the stoppage time after converting a similar cross he missed earlier.

The second proposed friendly match against Yanga in Arusha today has been shelved due to lack of a venue. Its said that Sheikh Abeid stadium is booked for a political rally for today and tomorrow.

This is marvelous and i believe this win against simba has put our boys in the right frame of mind to start from where they left in our kpl. I hope that our officials are working round the clock for Kogalo to get more of these away friendlies in readiness for next years caf champions league. I also wish that Kitawi is given more playing time(if he’s not injured) for him to gain the needed confidence and energy since he’s one of our best creative midfielders at the moment. Why did we have only 3 players in the reserve bench? We are clinching the 2010 league ofcourse!!! only Sofapaka, Karuturi & afc stands on our way!!! I urge all kogalo fans to throng the stadia in large numbers as this also boosts it’s financial base. For the officials: the t-shirts are sooooo few in the shops, kindly import them in 100’s of thousands.
Gor mahia is doing fantastically well.We all need to support these young lads because they will go places with kogalo.The management should begin thinking of other ways of raising funds 4 the club.I suggest that fans should invest in Gor by buying shares.cheers 2 all kogalo fans.Ogollah Benjamin

Tis good to look at good things n try emulating, but how viable is this shares thing..the pple afraid of the club ending up being a private members club could be right at the end of the day.
I believe we could still contribute towards developing the club through structured contributions which if invested on constructive portfolios will take us to the stadiums, club houses and proper player welfare.
