Innocent Wafula thanks fans

Former Gor Mahia utility man Innocent Wafula has written to Kogalo fans to thank them for the support he received while at the club.

” While it may not have worked out long term I’m very blessed to have played at Gor mahia fc .I made many great friends and became as close as family with most thank you for that.

Thank you for applauding my effort and passion for the game of football. Thank you for acknowledging my love for the green army it has been a pleasure to have called Home my workplace.

As we part ways know that the memories will be carried with me for the rest. Reaching out to say that I won’t forget where I’m from and you’ll always see me playing the game I love with passion and heart.

Knowing and appreciating the fact I had the pleasure of creating heartfelt memories with so many people the past 4years. Thank you again for your heart, thank you for the motivation and excitement.God bless Gor mahia football club.” – Innocent Wafula

His message is a stark contrast to Wafula’s behavior which has at times been perplexing as he has often dissappeared from the club without trace. He steadfastly refused to get a passport for international travel. And his true nationality remains a mystery.

Wafula’s contract expired in the first week of January. CEO Omondi Aduda declined to renew his contract saying Wafula had dissappeared to Busia and he (Aduda) did not have time to go chase him in Busia.

Wafula has joined top Ugandan side Vipers.

Wafula I think you just followed your nationality. Soon, you will get the call to Uganda national team for AFCON 2019.

Just like meddie, you also served us well , very well !

  • Another talented player gone further diluting our very average squad. Persistent poor management of club affairs is surely & steadily being reflected in the quality of the bench & playing unit. ALL THE BEST INNO & GM IN CAFCC MATCH,ARE DEC SALOS PAID?

@Oduor12, what’s wrong with players leaving to where they can pursue their dreams. It’s healthy for the team to bring in new blood. Ramsey just left Arsenal for Juventus

      • Healthy for which team? Our GM or your Vipers, K.Chiefs,Tirana etc.Googled your Ramsey e.g & Arsenal got £36m from Juve so i wonder why/how you compare it to Wafula’s free transfer unless you’re inadvertently highlighting bloated EC’s famed incompetence.

Saw Lobi on Friday and they had transformed greatly since their game with Gor, sign of serious commitment. Also saw Kagere yesterday mastermind Simba’s 3-0 win against JSS of Algeria, very impressive. I wonder if we have improved anything since the Lobi fixture, let’s see today.

Thank you Innocent Wafula. I am one of those who think you have alot of football and are still on a growth trajectory! Even under Frank Nuttal, under whom we saw what you are really capable of, you were operating at only 60%.

In life there’s a time to come and a time to go! We thank you for the great shift you put in while at Gor Mahia, whenever you had an opportunity to play!

    A word of advice:

While at vipers, if you are diligent, it’s one place they embrace youthful talent and they will really push you to the limits! I don’t know much about the new interim coach Michael Ouma Nam, but in coach Edward Golola, under whom players like Farouk Miya, Mohammed Shaban, Milton Karisa et Al and now Sekisambu who is with Mayienga, you will find a complete package. A man who has mastered tact, flair and youth management. Simply put, he has tough love, and you will need him, now, to progress from where you are football-wise. You have struggled for game time, at Gor Mahia under different coaches after Nuttal so by the time vipers show interest in you, it definitely means they know and see potential in you! Use this place to get back to where you belong and even better! At Mary’s, you have access to mingle with the best scouting and football academies and football enthusiasts, besides kccafc in Uganda. So take your chance with this team. Also in Dr Lawrence Mulindwa, the man behind vipers meteoric rise, as a football powerhouse in Uganda, is a father figure who is very approachable incase you need a one on one, which I think many people do. I say this because I think you might need this based on your history of disappearing acts. Vipers might be very accommodating with talent like what you have but are ruthless when it comes to discipline! In Dr Mulindwa, you find a listening ear. Do this before you do those disappearing acts!

A huge pat on the back for writing the ‘thank you’ note. It is a sign of maturity. It’s good not to burn bridges like some players have shown, yet you might need to cross back at some point on it! We have seen it happen time and again!

Best of luck with the venoms!

Your wife has left you for another man because you disagreed with her on the matters of upkeep. Do you still praise your former wife however good she was?? The best thing to do is mind your own business and move on.

K’ogalo fraternity must scratch their heads and ask a hard question as to y they are lagging behind as the likes of Simba sports club are doing well in continental football. The name K’ogalo is big in Africa but the team is average. It pains me to see Simba sports club that we always beat doing very well and is now threatening our dominance over them. I don’t believe that with the current squad at our disposal we will be able to defend sportpesa super cup in daresalam. I am also not yet convinced by the expertise of Hassan Oktay and am afraid that if we don’t win the league and also fail to win the shield trophy, then it will take time to recover. We should at least dominate in east africa.

Think of this, the foreign players were all involved in all three Simba goals – Emanuel Okwi, Meddie Kagere,Pascal Wawa and Cloutus Chama… not some dubious personnel warming benches at Kogalo

  • @jasego Look at the low levels of mediocrity to which you n that useless rachier has sunk gor. How you even manage to hold your head in the wake of all this sloppiness beats me. It is time rachier n his bunch of cartels left gor. Enough is enough!
